Tried for breakfast this morning. Good food. Service was terrible. My coffee came after the food was serve. Cup was never refilled. Never got the water I asked for twice. First time at this location, but it definitely will not be my last. Staff was very friendly and took the time to explain specials, even the ones not listed. They were very accommodating for my pescatarian friend. Breakfast was amazing. Generous portion sizes. Chicken and waffles was nice and crispy, and their spicy sauce takes it to another level. Strawberry butter that came with it was good. Not too sweet, but mixed with the special sauce it gets a little too sweet for me. Omelets and breakfast potatoes were nice. Ordered take out order at 8:50 for two people, nothing special. Was told 10-15 mins. Got 9:05 waited ten mins, then was told oh sorry we dont have avocados for the avocado toast at 9:15. That okay no biggie just give me 2 plain scrambled eggs with bacon and wheat toast. 9:35 still not done yet. This is the absolute worst service I have ever received at a restaurant. It's a shame because we live right across the street and were looking forward too it. In the future I will save some money and continue to go to Meghans right down the street where the service and food have been top notch for 20 years. read more

It was ok but I prefer the location in Bensalem. We tried calling to set up a reservation about 2 weeks in advance as it is the holiday season. We were told to call back closer to the date. When we did we were told they were booked, thankfully the manager was able to accommodate us. The place is pretty loud so it's difficult to have conversations if you have a large group. Our table was split on the food quality. Simple and straightforward for the kids. The burgers were average, mine was over cooked but I still enjoyed the flavor (how can you not when it is topped with sausage and bacon! Yum!). My husband got the Rueben and they put way too much dressing on it. His plate was soaked and the bread basically disappeared in the soupy mess. The peach breakfast special and monte cristo were on point. Our server was great and very attentive, food also came out quickly. But overall still 3 stars...no wow factor here. read more

Went there for the first time while in Wilmington, Delaware. The staff was extremely kind. The host even ran over and held both doors for us while leaving. Food was amazing and reasonably priced! The only minor thing was they forgot some of my sides that came with my meal (cranberry sauce & baguette) but got both immediately when asked. We definately will go back and try it again!! read more

Once again we have been completely disatisfied with the service here. Upon entering we were told to sit where we wanted, so we chose a booth. And we sat for more than 10 minutes with no one greeting us. I motioned to the "host" to get his attention. Then another 5 minutes went by until the host brought us silverware and menus. Finally someone said she would be with us "soon". Then a 3rd person came and took our order. The service seems to be hit or miss here. And it wasn't that busy tonight. There were only 8 tables when we came in. But there are always employers hanging out behind the wall. We ordered salads, chicken tender and Greek. Salads shouldn't take very long to make, and other people that came is well after us got their food first. No excuse for that, ever!! When our salads came, my friend had to ask for the grilled chicken that he ordered and I had to ask again for more ranch dressing. Once again the waitress disappeared behind the "wall". And to top off the evening, I was given a rotten tomato on my salad. The manager Alberto did apologize and took care of the bill and gave us salads to go. His generosity is the only reason I gave his place 2 stars instead of one. read more

Just overheard the main person to NOT seat any more people because the kitchen is backed up on orders. Piss poor planning on managements part. Me and my husband had breakfast here. This was the worst experience, I had to ask another server for my coffee, the food was horrible: I asked for medium rare and got well done(tough), potatoes cold and english muffin cold. No one never came around asking did we want more coffee, didn't see a manager to come around asking was everything ok and as we were leaving no one said thanks for coming enjoy your day. This place needs retraining and follow the other Metro Diner in Newark DE, we always have a pleasant experience there, never no complaints, the manager and staff there goes above and beyond to give customers the best experience read more

Wow. I didn't realize this was a chain. I visited for the first and last time this morning. Didn't even need to have a bite to know this wasn't an establishment I wanted to support. My husbands I were quoted a 15 to 20 minute wait time. Not a big deal. This happens when a place is fairly new and today being a holiday we expected it. So my husband and I waited. While we waiting we saw a woman and husband who entered after us and went to the hostess to sign in, or so we thought. The couple was called to be seated before us so I questioned the hostess to make sure we were not missed. The customer explained that she and her husband had been waiting outside. No biggie I sat back down. Until the hostess began to scream at me that she knows how to do her job and how dare me question her. First and foremost this is not the way for your hostess or greeter to treat a customer. Secondly, I'm thinking she doesn't know how to do her job if she screams at customers. I did speak to the manager who offered to pay for my meal. While this may work for others it doesn't work with me. I can forgive a bad meal, but customer service is what keeps me going back. Train your hostesses in customer service if you want to stay in business after the novelty of your new establishment wears off. I'm just sorry I didn't get her name so I could report her to the corporate office. read more

Let me start by saying the service was outstanding on a busy Saturday morning! I sat at the counter with a great view of the kitchen and was able to see all the meals going out. Everything looked great with the exception of what I ordered - cream chipped beef. Yes the old staple you order on a cold winters morning. Problem was there was no visible beef in the cream sauce. No salty strands that you look forward to, just a very thick cream sauce almost too thick to enjoy. Once again I saw terrific stuff going out but they need to address the lack of beef in their mixture. Coffee was served hot, but just average with no difinitive strength / taste. The restaurant was packed so they are definitely doing something right and I can't wait to go back and try something else but I have to call an ace an ace. We arrived at 825 and placed our order about 7-8 mins later. After 20 minutes the server came to tell us they did not have eggs to complete our order so we had no dinner!! I just can't understand why you would wait 20 mins to advise the guest!! I know they were closing because they locked the door at 845. I understand they close at 9 but you should serve your guest until you close the restaurant. No apology, no manager contact!! Just amazed me how awful this whole situation was!! This was the second time we went to Metro. First time they just opened was very good just noisy. We went Wednesday night and I got the pork chop special with mashed potatoes. FANTASTIC !!! Thin pork chops grilled with this tasty apple chutney with a little heat to it, but the sweetness calms it right down. My wife had the grilled chicken tenders platter and loved it. If you haven't been to the Metro we highly recommend it. Reasonably priced, excellent service and delicious food. read more

OK, this is a great place to eat, period. The food is really good, comes out fast and hot. Servers are on point. We had chicken and waffles which is 4 pieces of chicken and a really good waffle that maintained its crispness, didn't get soggy. They serve it with a combination of pancake syrup and hot sauce, omg, I don't know why it works but it does! The place does get busy though and the dining room isn't huge, so try to go at off times if you can, but definitely try this place! read more

I would have given more stars if it hadn't been for our service. We were greeted quickly by our waitress, and our food came out pretty quick. However, after receiving our food we never saw our waitress again. Never once did she come to the table to see if we needed anything or refill our drinks. Then another waitress came over to see what we needed, apparently we looked annoyed. We then asked for the check and some boxes. She said she was going to have a manager come over to the table which we never saw. Then our waitress had given our check to another table ....so more waiting. The food however was great. My mom and I had the Best lunch today at the Metro Diner. We ran in for a quick lunch and ended up with an amazing afternoon. As soon as we went in the Hostess was super friendly and so kind. We were seated promptly and greeted by our waiter, Ni. To say Ni was fantastic is an understatement. He was so attentive and gave us great feed back on the menu (which by the way is huge). Ni went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed and was a complete pleasure. On our way out the hostess once again gave us a friendly goodbye and then there was gentleman holding the door who also worked there and told us to have a great day. My mom and I left there with much more than full stomaches. We left feeling happy and like we just met some of the nicest people. It's such an upbeat atmosphere and if you are looking for a clean, friendly, bright and sunny place to have Sunday breakfast look no no more. Our meal was served hot, didn't have to wait to long and it was yummy. Once again, thank you to Ni for giving us such a great experience. We can't wait to come back and see all of you. read more

This diner is a 'must-go-to' !!!!! Everything about this Metro Diner is phenomenal! Not only is it a much needed presence in this area, there isn't one thing about it that is negative. The way it's set up is perfect if you like to check on your food being made and knowing when it's ready. Nothing to hide: it's all right there. The food is amazing! And, yes, it's piping hot and delicious..Not only is it the tastiest diner food around, the portions are the largest you'll get anywhere; my family has eaten here many times already, and each time, each of us brings something home. The wait staff goes above and beyond their duties to make sure each patron is satisfied. Special huge shout out to our server Zachary, whose section we make sure we sit in whenever we go.
