I've always liked this restaurant but took a chance here today. The menu is changed and not fit the better. Many long time favorites are gone. Upon entering the restaurant had a bad odor. My husband got the margarita flight which was interesting- all tropical flavors and kinda sweet. He wished it had more alcohol. The drinks came out slow, and service was a little on the slow side. I think we were there for 2 hours and we came in at 5 when it wasn't busy. The waiter was friendly and great with the kids. My husband got a mix of lobster, crab and shrimp and it was very delicious. My granddaughter was visiting from Ft Meade and wanted Red Lobster, always her fav. We drove out of our way only to be disappointed. It was around 3-4 pm, not really busy, on a weekday. We stood waiting to be seated while observing staff visiting with one another - almost like we didn't exist. No acknowledgement we were even present despite their seeing us. We were seated in a section apart from other customers; with only one wait staff in the area, we were soon forgotten. After a period of time, she took our order. The caesar salad came out with so much dressing that it was not edible. Clearly seeing I'd tried to wipe off most of the dressing with napkins (didn't help) the waitress saw I couldn't eat it - yet never inquired what was wrong. She returned with the entrees and that was the last we saw her until we asked for more biscuits, then later for boxes and the check. There was not one time she came on her own free will to ask how we were doing or if we wanted refills. She paid attention to the other diners and talked quite frequently among staff. It was a special occasion that went by the wayside due to whatever attitude she was having. (And we didn't give her any reason to act this way.) The Customer service is great. The server was so nice. Unfortunately, it took forever to get our food which makes the unlimited shrimp not worth it. I only visited for the unlimited shrimp because I thought it was a good deal. It took them at least 40 minutes in between order to make the order. I was only able to order 3 times in total which equates to a total of 7 portions. After the first 3 portions they're super small, so I don't understand why it took so long. It took them 40 minutes to grill 8 shrimps, 4 on each skewer. That's literally crazy. The best things in this deal is the grilled shrimp skewers, followed by the crispy dragon shrimp. Bourgeois people like to hate on the Lob, but I almost always enjoy myself. This last time I learned a valuable hack: There was a half hour wait so we went to sit at the bar and the bartender asked if we wanted menus. Funk yeah, my dude. I frequent this Red Lobster with my grandchildren. I recently went there with my granddaughter and she raved about her salmon and broccoli meal. I enjoyed the shrimp special. Our server was Jennifer and she was great. We order things a certain way and she got everything perfect. She then checked back periodically to make sure all was OK and to see if we needed any refills, etc. She was very friendly, prompt, and accurate. We felt welcome and couldn't ask for more. The space provided was sufficient, as I would assume that most parties w/9+ guests are typically seated in the private dining room of the restaurant. C. She had personality, engaged w/each of us, offered choice menu options, visited our table periodically to ensure we were taken care of & she rounded up a few other staff to assist w/singing "Happy Birthday" w/us. Honestly, "Dee" was an amazing server who truly seems to love what she does while making guests feel comfortable during their visit. * If you're ever in the area or looking to host a dinner there & you're expecting a larger party, BE SURE to request "Dee" for your visit! Priced affordable especially for 2 for 2 drinks each plus left over. I got the 1lb snow crab clusters as an entree. What an interesting time I had here this evening. First of all my date and I bickered endlessly so neither of us was in a particularly good mood and apparently we weren't the only ones because maybe within ten minutes of us sitting down a woman was up at the front requesting a manager. A withered older man came out of the kitchen and the woman began voicing her complaint. In between the argument at my own table and the one a few feet away, I could hear the lady say something about the portion size being small and not how she remembered it. I don't know what kind of accommodation she was looking for but the manager wasn't giving it to her. The lady then complained about the unprofessionalism of the man and her server. She went back to her table and the manager went back to his kitchen. But that would not be the end of the matter. Not by a long shot. I don't know how much time passed by, I did have my cheesy biscuits by now, but the lady was back on her feet and clearly agitated with her server. Then she got loud, real loud. What ensued was a verbal assault on the young server who was trying to defend herself. There was an accusation about food being tampered with, food being taken away and what wasn't going to be paid for. The lady wanted the manager again and again he came out. The young server was dispatched to the kitchen where she began to pound on the wall loudly at least five times then she came back and went outside. This whole scene went on and on, by then we had our two seafarers feasts, and escalated to the point where I was sure police would be called. Even our own server who was attentive and comical remarked loudly to the dining room that the disgruntled diner was making this an unpleasant event for everyone involved. I almost burst out laughing but instead kept nibbling and bickering at my own table. I don't know how the matter was resolved but the manager ended the disruption with a parting shot saying "I'm not the one" and if you have no idea what that means colloquially check the Urban dictionary lol. read more

It took over 30 minutes for us to get our food -and we only saw one other table of people. Further, the food was not cooked correctly. I ordered the shrimp pasta and it was literally soup. The flavor profile for this particular pasta was there, but the sauce was soup-like and did not stick to the noodles. I only ate 2 bites. At the end of our meal, I mentioned it to the waitress and she did offer to get me something else after acknowledging that the dish was not like it was supposed to be. Christmas gift card in hand, we decided to go to red lobster, 1pm on a workday Wednesday, the place was empty, we were greeted at the door, very friendly staff, almost too friendly. We were sat immediately, and drinks were ordered almost at the same time, HOWEVER it took forever for our drinks to come, our waitress was too interested in talking with a friend who was at a nerby booth, in an almost empty restaurant there conversation overtook the whole restaurant and me and my fiance just sat there...waiting....and more waiting...food took too long to come for an empty restaurant. While we just watch our waitress joke and talk to her friend about out of work adventures. I think this is location is par for the course with other Red Lobsters that I've been too. Really busy but not special at all and kinda a mess. I wouldn't have picked here by my bf was obsessed with the crabfest promotion they currently have. Our server John was nice and I felt for him because he said tonight was the fourth double shift in a row he had to work but he lagged on EVERYTHING. I ordered a strawberry margarita and it wasn't until after our salads came out that he brought it. Also, my boyfriend spilled his beer and we needed more napkins which we asked about and never got. This Red Lobster is in a strip mall that is basically a row of restaurants, so parking is abundant. One major problem with this Red Lobster is they don't take reservations. That guarantees you'll have to wait if you have a large group. Even so, how was it reasonable that our group of 10 had to wait *2 hours* to be seated? That was terrible. Once seated though, I thought service was okay. The server did bring out more biscuits when we finished them and asked for more. I thought the food was good enough. Not great, but good. We were there during the endless shrimp promotion. I have to say though that "endless shrimp" comes with pretty significant limitations. You're served the salad first and the first round of shrimp only after you're done with that. Then each refill of shrimp takes a while to prepare and is only about 10 shrimp or so. Since it took so long for our group to be seated, I couldn't get very many shrimp refills before the restaurant closed for the night. So it is probably not worth going to Red Lobster just for that. Food and speed of service issues aside, the restaurant dining area and restroom looked clean. Facilities appear to be in good condition. Service here is atrocious and the food subpar. Came into the restaurant at the same time as another couple. They were seated first. We put in an order for drinks and appetizers . One half of the drink order and biscuits arrived. After 15 min, Tried to get the attention of the server, who is taking the order of the first couple. After having been in the store for 20 minutes I went to the bar to try to find the missing drink. After 30 minutes and still no action I asked for the manager. He came over and tried to appease us with discount cards only good for April and May 2024. We finally got the appetizer after having been in the place 50 minutes. The first couple got their food before we did. Finally after having been in the place an hour the rest of the food arrived. Lobster was overcooked and rubbery and the lobster Pizza had way too much oregano such that it dominated the flavor. Only the broccoli was appropriately cooked. I decided to write in via the website to express my discontent and got a voicemail message the next day from the general manager named Drew. When I came inside I told the hostess I was there to see Drew and gave her my name. She disappeared for a few minutes and then came back and started taking me to an area where people were interviewing for jobs. I clarify for her that I was not there for a job interview but was in fact coming to speak to Drew regarding a voicemail. She disappeared again and then came back to get me and said he was in the middle of an interview and started taking me back to a desolate section of the restaurant where no one else was at. I then asked her whether I would be able to order food there and she said "Oh you wanna eat?!" At this point it was clear I was dealing with a half wit who doesn't know how to do her job, so I said perhaps it would be best if I went and waited in the front area until Drew was available to speak with me and then I could be seated to have a meal after. This seemed to distress her for some reason and as she was walking me back to the front we encountered an elderly man with a name tag that said "Ed." She said I could talk to him, and he said "Come over here" and started walking. So I followed like a lap dog as he sat down with an application in his hand, so I said "Again to clarify, I'm not here for a job interview, as I mentioned to her." He looks down his nose at me and in this condescending tone he goes "Then why ARE you HERE?" I said "I'm here to follow up with a complaint but this is kind of a mess." He goes "Its not a mess." As if he has any idea what's going on. So I just said "Clearly it's better if I just leave," and he goes "Byeeee" in a mocking tone. I'll list the positives first, the cheddar biscuits were good of course and our drinks, (the high tide, and sunset passion colada) were pretty good. The cons, food was extremely over priced in my opinion for the quality. The half portion of crab Alfredo was $15...which would have been understandable were it not pieces of salty claw crab meat as opposed to actual chunks of meat as was described in the menu. The drinks were pretty good until I realized they were pretty overpriced considering I couldn't taste an ounce of liquor in either drink. We also ordered the coconut shrimp Appetizer which tasted like everything else that was in the fryer that day. The first time I visited a Red Lobster was probably back in 2009. And this year I returned because of those commercials for the lobster fest that's happening. I love seafood and lobsters so when I was in Delaware and happened to be nearby the location, my boyfriend and I went in. The food was very good and service as well. Surprisingly, it was my boyfriend's first time here. We are total foodies but we do prefer local restaurants over franchise places. Red Lobster is rather pricey and if I could, I would probably choose to head to Maine for cheaper selections.
