Hideaway has been a bar since my mother was my age and to this day (over 30 years later) we still go. They have every drink (alcoholic and non), beer and wine you could think of! Bar food is basic but theirs is above average with a TON of variety provided. Has a wide crowd within 30 mins of opening, on of my favorite go to places. It is also family owned, supporting a small business is great for the community. The owner Dana, was fabulous and her daughter was on top of running food and helping out behind the bar. I've lived in the area my whole life (30+ years) and have always heard but never went until tonight. I was really looking forward to my first stop tonight. Just like legend has it, this place was tucked mysteriously off the grid in a residential neighborhood. At first i was very enthusiastic as the vibe seemed pleasant and festive. Sadly this turned on us within only a few minutes. Not long after ordering and receiving our drinks, one of the waitresses encouraged a patron at a table in the dining room to stand who started singing America the Beautiful which was fine but rather unusual. While listening quietly and respectfully to the song, We were confronted by some very rude and profane commentary from older customers across the bar who were clearly regulars and seemed to be criticizing our not singing and saying we should get the f* out. In addition to this, the bartender informed us that all food coming out of the kitchen was backed-up by 45 minutes. They serve burgers, dogs and sandwiches so we didn't want to wait and left. Overall, the Hideaway stands out in absolutely no way besides it being uniquely located out of sight. It's a very average looking place and seems to cater to and be completely supported by the local residents near Ebright Road who seem to covet their clubhouse atmosphere and apparently are regularly over-served by bar service at display the manors of classless petulant children. North Wilmington, DE has an abundance of other places to enjoy when you're looking for a nice meal and a brew. Please don't subject yourselves or loved ones to such trash! read more

Thursday night $7 cheesesteaks and it came with fries. This was my second attempt at Thursday night cheesesteak night and I really wanted to hate this cheesesteak. Much to my delight, I did not hate this cheesesteak. I did have a roll breakage but this Cheesesteak won me over. French fries, pickle, $4 Sam Adams draft and live music; these things make for a good Thursday night in Wilmington. Overall, it was a very good experience. $11, I was down right giddy! read more

HORRIBLE. wish I could give this place zero stars. Looked up a place in the area to get some food and drinks with some friends. We found this place and thought we would give it a try. We showed up and sat at a high top. The bartender came up to us after 10 mins of getting no service. She apologized for server not coming over and gave us plates and silverware and asked for our drink orders. She was rudely cut off when the "owner" came over and hastily asked for our IDs. Two of my friends just came to get food and were not drinking , however she insisted that they show her their ID. She told us that she never seen us before and that we need ID to "walk in her door". This business needs to understand the Delaware restaurant/bar laws. If you have a full menu of food you should not be turning down service to people who are under 21. And if you choose to turn down service then do it in a polite way rather than being nasty to local people who wanted to try out something new. Would never recommend read more

The owners need to learn the laws of Delaware and not hide behind them. My friend brought her new born baby to the bar & grill to eat cheesesteaks. They were immediately told they had to leave. The owner told me "we are a bar not a restaurant" however they do in fact serve food, and a lot of it. Then the waitress came over, then the bartender. All saying they can lose their license. You are wrong. You cannot lose your license for having a baby (or child) in your establishment when you serve food. You don't want kids? Don't be a restaurant! For those that want a more classy experience, go to 2SP. This is what you get for a dive bar. read more

Great little neighborhood dive bar!! Food is delicious, a lot of different beers that are nice and cold. $10 for a pitcher of most beers. They are one of only a few package stores in Delaware so you can buy beer and take it home. They have kareoke on Wednesday nights and live music most Fridays. Jen our bartender was awesome!! We had crab nachos and the appetizer sampler. Both were excellent and very reasonably priced. We sat outside on the patio until the cigarette smoke got to us. They have great daily specials as seen in the pictures. This is a neighborhood bar tucked into a neighborhood, literally. So you may get checked out if they don't recognize you. But everyone was super friendly and quick to start a conversation! Also, the bathrooms were really nice!! Not something you expect in a little old bar. read more

Has the Best Cheesesteak! French Fries you get plenty of them and could ask for more. Nice friendly staff and always personal.

Service might be the worst in the world, takes about an hour and a half to get any type of food every single time no matter how busy.

Decent bar food,,,BUT no draft list. Better than the old Hideaway, but barely. Hard to find, hence the name. No real happy hour enticement so its $5-6 for a draft here vs $3 at 2sp or Famous, so is a rare stop for me even though its far closer. A little dark, should have added windows during the renovation. When i walk in and see all 4 tvs tuned to Fox News, i walk back out. I mean, really?? So much potential. Did I mention they carry only ONE CHEAP WINE in red and white? $10 a bottle! Who sells wine like that? Id rather pay $10 a glass for something with flavor. Even good box wine is far superior. So they lose the huge wine crowd here. read more

diamond in the rough. great neighborhood place. excellent staff. don't expect to have filet mingon or lobster, but the food is pretty good. prices are very very reasonable. be aware of the new times that they open via covid-19. plenty of parking as well. first time going might be a little hard to find-hence its the right name as it is somewhat hidden. but do yourself a favor and try it, you'll like it. ps/ bathroom is always clean!!! lee m. read more

i was referred here by my boyfriends mom about the $5 burgers so we decided to give it a try. after waiting for about 10 minutes for anyone to even come up to our table, the waitress came up to us -no hello how are you, not even a "what do you want"- she just stared at us until we ordered and walked away. we then waited an hour and a half for 4 burgers, only got one refill on drinks the entire wait even though she walked by our table multiple times. burgers were good but not worth the attitude of the staff. after trying to explain that i'm a waitress and i understand things happen, but it's really ridiculous to wait literally an hour and a half for burgers (it wasn't even busy) the cook made an excuse that he served 114 burgers that day (not my problem, it's literally your job) and the waitress gave me so much attitude and walked away in the middle of me talking. i've never in my entire life had such bad customer experience. i wouldn't waste my time going here. read more
