FIRST, breakfast is my favorite meal, but WHAT?! A breakfast place with NO butter?! Just some vegetable seed oil "spread" pretending to be butter?! I would think that at the minimum, you could provide some REAL butter in the little containers on the table! Even the old silver diners provide REAL butter. TWO Strikes for a "breakfast" place! Ordered one of their more expensive omelettes, the "Seafood" omelette with crab and shrimp. One of the worst omelettes that I have ever had, for $16.00. So bad, that I had to return it. The shrimp were the tiny, what I call 'bait" shrimp used for fishing. Actually, most "bait" shrimp are even bigger AND they tasted freezer burnt. Did not see any crab in the omelette, but since the shrimp were so foul tasting, I did not explore the flatest omelette that I have ever seen any further. So I went with ham and eggs, after confirming that the ham was indeed a ham "steak", with the manager. Honestly, if I ever was served a "steak", be it a beef steak or a ham steak, that was SO thin, I would get up and leave, but since we were both hungry after a long over night travel, we suffered through and ate what we were served. The wife ordered the crab Benedict, which despite the menu reading "poached" eggs, the eggs were more like soft boiled eggs. She claimed that everything tasted fine, but was disappointed to have soft boiled eggs, instead of actual "poached" eggs. THREE Strikes! Sorry Nudy's, but we WON'T be back. UPDATE: I forgot to mention that the manager here was very apologetic and accommodating to my concerns, even checking the expiration date of the shrimp that tasted freezer burnt. Both she and our server checked with me to make sure that my replacement breakfast was to my liking. read more

My husband decided to order breakfast to go before we headed back home. He went for an omelette with spinach, onions, turkey sausage, paired with shredded hashbrowns and an English muffin. According to him the omelette was delicious and well-made with the spinach and onions adding a nice, savory touch. The turkey sausage was perfectly cooked. The shredded hashbrowns were crispy and flavorful and the English muffin was the perfect side. I didn't order anything myself but he mentioned he truly enjoyed the meal. The cafe had a warm, welcoming atmosphere and the food definitely left a positive impression. We'll certainly keep it in mind for future visits! read more

When I reported it, I was transferred to multiple staff members, received no apology, and was told the issue was "not a big deal." I was instructed to return for a replacement, with no refund or corrective action offered. This is a serious food safety and hygiene concern. I have submitted an official complaint to Delaware County Health Department and expect management to address this immediately. read more

Was good when I first opened. Lately a little disappointing. If you can't make homemade fries with flavor, how simple is that? . The hashbrowns were white and had no flavor. FDC and I were preparing for a shopping trip to nearby Costco. We headed to Nudy's for breakfast first because one should never enter Costco feeling even slightly hungry or you will emerge with $300 worth of food items you were not planning to buy until you had a sample and it was soooo good. Nudy's is a local chain with a name that sounds dirty but isn't. This was a new location for us. It's a stand alone building with tables & a dining counter. As it was quite crowded we opted to sit at the counter. Typically this is fast. Secretly I love to do this as it reminds me of classic diners with stools that spun around when I was a kid. It seemed special then. Both FDC and I have worked as servers, so we are both respectful and conscious of how the front of house is run. Where there is a counter typically a server has "the counter" as part or all of their area, and they may also help with expediting and drink service for tables close by. On this visit there did not seem to be this kind of management, nobody seemed to "have" the counter. So, we waited. And waited. Staff went by us and others, the front of house manager ignored us, choosing to berate a server who was struggling instead. Not s hood optic. We finally asked a server passing by if we could order, we knew it wasn't her area and promised a big tip if she would help us. She did, and was super nice. Food was solid. My waffle was crisp and fruit fresh. FDC said her omelet was very good. I'd recommend though that rather than berating a server more than once in front of customers on a busy morning perhaps you should pitch in and expedite or notice you've got a counter full of people who aren't getting any service at all. Woo hoo this is officially the third Nudy's I've visited. I really like this one because the parking is good, the inside is pretty and comfortable and the food and service is up to par with all the Nudy's. Today I had The grilled shrimp salad which was a nice selection of grilled shrimp atop greens with some avocado, slivered almonds and mandarin slices. It was advertised as having a "fan" of avocados. I didn't get that many avocados. There were 4 thins slices spread across the plate. That disappointed me a bit because for the price I was expecting at least half an avocado. And i chose this salad over others because of its description. Regardless, I did enjoy this entree. My dining partner had The farmers omelette and he enjoyed it. The coffee was strong and good. This place is alright! Simple, and straight to the point. I met my manager here for a one on one sales meeting on the Friday after Christmas. We had both eaten a lot in the recent days and knew more food was on the horizon as we entered NYE weekend. It's nice inside. It's bright and spacious. A sunny diner, I'd say. We both quickly glanced at the menu; but from what I remember it was all pretty standard breakfast food. No dishes really stood out to me. I had two eggs over easy, with wheat toast and home fries. Two of my daughters and I had brunch at this Nudy's today. They had both already been to this location a few times, while I had only gone to the ones in Devon and Ardmore. They both got the California Benedict and the non-vegetarian also had some turkey bacon (which basically tastes and has a mouth feel like ham). After seeing the huevos rancheros on the menu the last time I was at the Ardmore location, I went for it and ordered them. They were very good and cooked perfectly - Nudy's version serves them over hash browns instead of with tortillas or tortilla chips. While I really liked their version, I would have liked the crunch of a few tortilla chips on top. Overall though, I loved them. Can't wait for breakfast tomorrow so I can have my leftovers! read more

Five of us visited on a Sunday. Granted the restaurant was busy; however, when our food arrived, it was cold. The waiter didn't return so we could bring it to his attention. I could not eat a cold omelet not to mention the fact the order wasn't correct. It was the House omelet, which is to include feta cheese. It didn't nor were the hash browns cooked as requested. I reached out to the restaurant about two weeks ago and have heard nothing from them. So, it's a diner. I've lived in this area for 30 years and I had never been to a Nudy's before (it is a local chain). I was aware of it, but had never had occasion to go. I dined in a party of two on a Friday at about 9 am at the Painters Crossing location. It was bustling. There were groups of adults, families with babies, folks having informal breakfast meetings. This place clearly appeals to a wide demographic. The restaurant is clean, bright and fairly compact, but with a variety of booths and tables. Everyone is nice and the vibe is upbeat. Our server was prompt and efficient. The food came quickly and I was out of there in 45 minutes. The food, well the food is very average. I had a ham and cheese omelet with home fries and toast. My guest had pancakes. Perfectly fine. Nothing different than you can get at other diners. Prices are fine. This place clearly fills a niche in Chadds Ford. read more

The breakfast my son and I had was amazing. The almond French toast was just so delicious, with several almond slices grilled on top of the thick bread slices. server was rude when I brought up my food allergy which is gluten. I ordered a classic salad. when I came out, the peppers were clearly old...the cut edges were completely dried out and curled. then when I was moving the poeced around, there waa a hidden piece of crouton! I clearly stated I have celiacs and to make sure No crutins amd to make sure it's not mixed in a shared bowl. one could be food poisoning of this clearly old salad. two they took an old salad and picked out the croutons to deliver to someone with celiacs. Nudy's is not a cafe, it's a diner. Now that that's out of the way... I had the chance to dine here for brunch/lunch recently, and the most remarkable thing about the experience was how magically fast the food came out after we ordered. It felt like we blinked and our food was out in front of us - piping hot and delicious. We sat down at our table at 12:07 and were OUT of there by 1 pm. I wasn't trying to have such a speedy lunch, but that's just the way this joint operates. They want to turn the tables over on the weekends. The menu here is colossal. There's really no other way of describing it. Do you want dessert for breakfast? Peaches and cream with pancakes? French toasts of a thousand varieties? A shrimp entree, chicken fingers, or some crab Benedict? This place has it all, in typical diner fashion.
