The doctor here is fine. The problem is with their opticians and their lab. My wife and I each got…read morenew frames and lenses there this summer. I had to send mine back to the lab twice, my wife once. Their lab didn't put on the anti-glare coating we paid for, and when they came back after fixing their mistake, they had bent my frames really badly. So back it went again. They also didn't put the coating on my wife's glasses either. My wife has bifocals, and they were also mis-measured the first time we were there. Between the two of us, we've had to come back 5-6 times just to get the proper lenses and fit. Understandable, sometimes mistakes are made. They did fix it. However, the other problem comes from their opticians. Not once did we get a "sorry" or any sympathy at all from either optician we worked with. They acted like we were the ones inconveniencing them. We're not asking for anything free, just a little common courtesy. The tall skinny one really acted like we were ruining her day each time we came in. Was going to let it slide, until we came in today for a routine adjustment (we have 2 little kids, they're hard on frames). As soon as we walked in, I saw the two problem opticians whisper to each other. The tall skinny one was very short and rude in her greeting to my wife, and didn't make any move to help us. The shorter one was more pleasant and got us both adjusted properly. We'll still go in for adjustments, but I'll never spend another dime here again on frames or lenses, especially not as long as they have whatever lab they're currently using.

By far the worst experience I have ever had getting glasses before. Unfriendly employees and…read moreowner/owners of this company. Overpriced and inconsistent product. Will never be coming back. Going to Lenscrafters instead.

No stars. I visited America's Best in Ankeny today with my husband, my mother, and our 8‑month‑old…read moregrandson. We had already completed our eye exams and were simply there to pick out frames. We were three separate customers -- my husband and I have insurance, and my mother does not. When a sales associate became available, she began helping my mother. My husband and I waited patiently for the next available associate. However, when that associate opened up, we were told we had to wait and that the same person helping my mother would be assisting all three of us together. I explained that we had been waiting and had arrived before several other customers who were now being helped ahead of us. We were still told we had to wait. At that point, I said my mother would finish her transaction, but my husband and I would not be purchasing glasses there, especially since we had an infant who wouldn't stay content much longer. What made the situation worse was the attitude of the manager on duty. She avoided eye contact, ignored what I said, and showed no concern for the situation. My mother completed her purchase, and we left. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing and unprofessional, and we won't be returning.

He could not authorize me to pick it up, he could not email and ask them to release it via email or mail to him. Federal law does allow the release verbally and/or via email.
