Sales people at metro Ford really are polite and treat you to your needs, not theirs. They do t try to hound you one way or another. They listen to your preferences and work to find what suits you. Sale manager did not uphold their price listed on the Ford website tried to up-sell the vehicle for being a few years old to the price of a 2020 far more than its worth and not mentioning it had an accident under its carfax. Was approached with an aggressive tone from the start of our experience that set an unwelcoming environment as if they did not want to help us. If this is the type of treatment you get from the used car sale manager you can't expect more from anyone else there. My first visit and definitely my last do not recommend to friends or anyone. Hate to say by far the worst Ford dealer i have attended for business. But happy to say the Ford dealer that we have done business in the past will have me leaving in a 2019!! My Ford Fusion had a recall plus a vibrating noise upon acceleration. I went online to set up an appointment and the service department took care of me on time. They explained any charge upfront before doing anything to my vehicle. At the end, I had to leave my vehicle for 2 days and I paid $0! Because Marcos did some research and found out that my vehicle was still covered by the warranty. He also kept me informed and gave me updates as to when I was able to pick up my vehicle. Buying a car from these guys is like dealing with little kids. They won't let you go, super cocky, and very stubborn. I went in looking for a car that I was interested in, but as I got there, the car sold. So, they pointed to another car around the same price, mileage, and model. We looked at it, liked it, and thought, "well we've never had a hybrid before, so we don't really feel comfortable buying it". Right off the bat, the employee said "Well what else do you need to know about it, the car is right here". We went back inside, and we tried negotiating a price. It was reasonable, and I liked it. I had my girlfriend with me at the time, remember this detail. As I told the sales representative that I was going to call my Dad to see what he said, the sales rep laughed and said, "How old are you?". Basically, he tried making me look like a fool by still asking my parents what to do. When financing a vehicle, it's okay to get information from someone before placing such a responsibility on yourself. He was also arrogant, cocky, and pressuring. AVOID AT ALL COST!!! The service staff Fabian was extremely rude. They sold me tires a month ago, which went flat in less than two months. Told me I had to pay for new tires and when I challenged them on it, the General Manager Marvin Pinkey proceeded to yell at me and put his finger in my face as though he was going to hit me. I actually stepped back and was in such shock by his behavior I had to turn away from him and ended up having a panic attack in my car for 45 minutes. I also had to report this behavior to the Ford Company and am looking into what other avenues I should take if they decide not to reprimand him. If anything they're going to be a big place for people to come to if they're at Ford dealerships that don't meet customer standards. I went there with my wife to take a look at one of their used trucks escape, well the sales person was nice and friendly, show us the truck, we took it for a spin, all good, until we spoke to their supervisor or manager, we told them that we were looking to trade in my mustang and try to get another car as well,2 cars within out budget, well the guy was very unprofessional about out budget and about our situation, he gave us rolling eyes, and sometimes when I was trying to told to him, he used to touch his hair, almost like pulling off, and he was sitting like he was at the park, I felt like pouching him right across the face, finally we just left without even saying a word... and just let him told to himself... read more

**update** The day after I left my previous review, I was contacted by Ellie, the customer service manager at Metro Ford. She apologized for the bad service I had received and bent over backwards to show me that they do care about me as a customer. She got me a loaner car immediately, and even had a porter come pick me up at my office so I wouldn't have to worry about transportation anymore. She called me daily with updates on my car and when it was done, she gave me a Visa gift card as a gift to apologize for my experience. When I got my car back, it was good as new. They replaced my clutch and it seems to be running perfectly. On top of that, they filled my gas tank, washed my car, vacuumed the interior, and fixed a part that was loose in the console (even though I hadn't brought it to their attention previously. Although my initial experience with Metro Ford wasn't the best, Ellie and her team worked very hard to make sure that my overall experience was positive and that I felt like a valued customer. I'm very impressed with her and will definitely be returning for future service needs. I'm extremely disappointed in the service I've received. I brought my car in about a month ago because of problems with acceleration even though it's still under warranty. I got my car back about two days later... and the problem was not fixed at all. I brought my car in again 2 weeks ago. I worked with Chris. After I described the problem, Chris told me that he knew exactly what was wrong and that he would be in touch with me soon to let me know how long the process would take. That's when the bigger problems started. I didn't hear anything at all from Chris, so I called a week later (last Monday). Chris told me that no one had even looked at my car yet, but that it would be taken in by the end of the day. He told me to call back the next day. I called back the next day (Tuesday), but was on hold for 30 minutes before I was told that Chris was busy and would call me back. I waited 2 days. When I called back on Thursday, Chris told me he still needed to talk to the technician and that he would call me right back in a few minutes. 4 days later, I still haven't heard a word, despite also leaving voicemails on the main line. Two weeks I've been without a car (because of course they didn't offer me a loaner all this time) and without a single clue how long it will take before I will ever see my car again. They sell auction used cars with unknown service records without first having their service dept check it over. I purchased a 2006 explorer from them. The salesman named george switched price and tradein on paperwork to screw me out of $6000. Dollars. It was returned to their shop twice. The salesman refused to help me. The service mgr who has since quit over-ruled him and fixed the sensor problems and chk eng light. Then after I owned the vehicle just a couple weeks and the transmision failed, I called them and left messages that were not returned. I then made a complaint with Ford motor company that was never resolved. I then took the vehicle to another dealer named "Joyce Ford" who fixed it under my esp policy and then took it as a tradein on a new F-150 and negotiated with ford for several days to get them to put a little extra cash into the deal beyond the normal rebate due to the problems with Metro Ford that made the finance companies afraid of me because of only keeping the 2006 explorer for a month. After Ford kicked in a few bucks to increase my down payment, both Ford Credit and Chase Bank were willing to finance me. Stay away from Metro Ford unless you are a masochist who enjoys trouble, drama, and being screwed out of $6000. dollars. Thank GOD for Joyce Ford helping me. A family member gave me a Ford truck and when I went to fill it up for the first time, I ended up with some of the bad gas from BP that came out of the Indiana refinery in October. Since Joyce Ford is now out of business, Metro is the only Ford dealership nearby on the south side. So I have my truck towed to Metro Ford. I waited a week and called in to check on it. I left my info for someone to call back and never heard back. I called again and got put on hold for 30 minutes (before I hung up.) Eventually the next day I got a hold of someone and they said it would be ready soon. I managed to collect the truck the next day, about two weeks after I had it towed in. (BP was involved in processing claims, so they were part of the reason it took so long.) When I got it back, it was covered in dust (like it had been sitting in a dusty warehouse) and there were oily fingerprints on the inside. (Since I had just gotten it, I know it was clean when I sent it in.) Usually when I take my other car to the Toyota dealership, it comes out cleaner than when I brought it in. So they fixed the vehicle, but I was a little unimpressed with their customer service. Owning a Ford for the first time, I'm looking for a place to have the regular maintenance done, but I'm not too excited about returning to Metro. read more

After a sour experience with another dealership, we headed south to Metro Ford to take a look at a Ford Fiesta we had our eye on. Unfortunately they no long had that car but Tony showed us a newer model that had low miles on it that we loved. He helped us get the monthly payment down to a price we could afford and the process was super easy, we walked out of there not only with a car but with new plates, registration, etc. All we had to do was stop and purchase city stickers on the way home. This was my first experience buying a car and it was much easier and less stressful than I imagined, and I believe that was because of Tony's experience and no-pressure tactics. Before I leave the dealership, I'm gonna open my hood and look at it just to make sure they actually put a NEW battery in there. I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned car from them, two of the tires were dry rotting and were 6 years (!) older than my car. So either they didn't fully inspect it or they ignored the dry rot to save money and certified it anyways. They might have even replaced worn tires with the old tires themselves, I don't know. When confronted they promised a return phone call within 30 minutes, five days later I still hadn't heard from them so I called again. They refused to cover the cost of the replacement, I asked the sales manager (Raul) to look into it further and he promised he would and that he'd call me back by Wednesday. They use the bate and switch pricing. The advertised price is not what you pay. I was a cash buyer, but they will only sell you the vehicle if they can tack on other hidden fees. The price you see is not the price you pay. I'm not talking about sales tax and other fees collected by the state. I've bought many vehicles before. The experience at Metro Ford was terrible...yes terrible. I honestly don't recommend anyone going there to buy or trade a car. What they do is that they try to sell you something that isn't really what you are looking for. I went there yesterday to see if I can change my GMC for another SUV which I had for a year and they said yes it can be change but I would had to get a brand new car in order for my wife credit score to grow. Now we did change it for a Ford Fusion 2020. But when we went today to change it for a SUV they say that we can't change it because is electronic. But if you look at the page...IT SAYS YOU CAN. But they have a system that once you buy a car and if you are not comfortable with, and you want to change it...you go within the next day and they say that the person who sold the car are not available ( that is their day off). I'm telling you all these because they did it to me twice and to other people they bought car there. I'm not the only one. Wow what a coincidence that is not to show at work the next day after selling a car. This car I got is not bad the only thing we went there for was to change it because we have a CLEANING COMPANY in which we have equipment to fit. But they said they can't do anything until the person who sold me the car is there. The only thing I enjoyed was my car and speaking with Cesar and Francisco. They provided top notch customer service. Francisco showed me a great car that I fell in love with. Cesar was able to get the payment that I needed. The financial manager, different story. Don't get me wrong joe seems like a great guy I'm just not paying what Cesar approved me for. I walk into the financial office and joe gives me a different price. I was told what I'm paying for is the extended warranty(which increased my payment for an extra $72) i called the financial loan office and they stated "i don't see a purchase of an extended warranty" i asked if i can lower my payment taking the "extended warranty" out and they stated no. Since it's in contract that's what you'll have to pay. Absolutely disappointed and hurt that I was tricked into that. Do not buy the extended warranty, def not worth it and it won't even show you purchased it. Don't speak with Joe(his real name is Allani, or something like that). read more

I went to Metro Ford this week and we discussed a Ford Fusion over the phone. I told them of my situation ahead of time, and since the car was going for a good price for a 2012, they pressured me to come in on that particular day rather than the day I preferred. With that said, we negotiated (we as in the Internet Manager and the Sales Manager) a note around $230/month and they told me that they would definitely be able to work with this. Being optimistic, I drove in an hour and a half commute (in traffic) to take them up on their word. When I got there, they introduced to me to this other sales employee who would then take over the whole process of financing. Fine. What would then infuriate me was when he immediately told me that the Fusion wasn't a go because of my situation and that the car did not have any book value; quick question, you didn't think it wise to discuss this over the phone? Let it be noted that they did run my credit over the phone as well, so during that conversation they could have told me all of this rather than wasting my time. After that occurred, the sales person whose name is now coming to me as Alex, took me across the lot to an upstairs building where he showed me a 2012 Hyundai Accent that needed a jump when he tried to start the car. This car wasn't in any listing on the website and I didn't have access to any prior knowledge of the carfax. Along with this, the car was too small for my liking, and had noticeable scratches on the exterior and interior. When I told Alex that I wasn't quite fond of it, he told me, "Yeah but it's something to get you started." So in other words, that's the only consolation in buying a car? I don't think so. I left the car where it was and Alex then told me that there was nothing else he could do unless I would be able to pay a note of $350 and with my budget, that wasn't happening. I'm the type of person who likes to work with what we've already agreed to and just because I'm in your presence does not mean you are then able to persuade me to your "deals." On the very little bright side, customer service was prompt and they made sure to reach out to you simply because they want your business. If you do decide to go to this dealership, make sure you get all the facts over the phone and CONFIRMED, otherwise you may be setting yourself up for a huge waste of time and a heap of frustration. read more

All customers should be treated the same, whether its a cash purchase, or a finance purchase. The fact that they were givin a check, they weren't going to make any money from financing. So when i asked for a second key fob for my newly acquired vehicle. I was told by the salesman, and owner. No, anything else invested into this sale, would be a loss for them. The vehicle itself i love, but their customer service sucks. I would never recommend any of my friends, or family to ever patronize Metro ford, whether it be for sales or services. Everyone that i came in contact with during my visit at METRO FORD seemed to not have any idea of how to be sympathetic, or even empathetic to someone patronizing their dealership. I recently had to bring in my car for a side airbag computer reset, which is always a trial. However, Metro Ford Sales & Service made the experience pain-free. They gave me a realistic time estimate, performed the service without event, and even topped off my oil! The workers were friendly and informative; and, probably best of all, they were able to provide car service to and from work, so I did not have to wait at the dealership for the work to be done. I called to make an appointment to get my brakes fixed, but Rosa informed me there was no availability the day I needed. I then proceeded to get off the phone In order to make other arrangements. Minutes later I received a callback from her saying they will would be able to accommodate my appointment and I should come in first thing in the morning between 7am-8am when the shop opens. I was elated and did exactly that on the day of the appointment, Upon dropoff of my car I was told that my car I would be ready at 1pm for pickup. So around the specified time I returned to the dealership only to be informed that my car hadn't to even been started on. My vehicle had been in your possession for a total of five hours at this point! I then waited several more hours in the waiting room observing as customers/jobs that came after me were being closed out. This experience was nothing short of a catastrophe. Approximately a Total of 8-9+ hours was spent trying to fix common breaks/rotors all in the name of greed! And not wanting to loose an appointment to the competitor. This appointment should've never been booked by your staff as there was no availability nor proper staffing to assist the workload scheduled. Though Rosa was a pleasant lady the entire experience and customer service surrounding the service department was horrific. I will ABSOLUTELY never be coming back! read more

Worst experience ever. 1st time there and it will be my last. I was there to have my vehicle checked because it was struggling to turn on.After a couple of hours there I was told that a cylinder lock needed to be installed and that the total amount would be about $550. After a whole day there I was told they needed to keep it overnight because they were having a hard time with it. I come back the following day and it was still not ready. Finally after another 4 hrs of waiting they give it back to me only to have the same issue. Not only did they end up charging me $812 versus the $550 I was originally quoted but my truck was still not fixed. I take it back on Saturday and they tell me that they fixed what my husband said was wrong. As I am questioning everything they are telling Me I tell Rosa there was never an issue with what was fixed the issue is with the truck struggling to turn on. As there were turning on the truck another technician approached us and said oh you need a new battery the same thing I questioned her on which the previous technician checked and passed with a green light. Not only did they misdiagnose my vehicle and fix something that did not need to be fixed but they overcharged me. Then when I call to complain to the service manager. He starts yelling at me on the phone and being ignorant/rude and just plain nasty!!!! So in short all I needed was a battery and ended up paying for 2 car notes for something that wasn't even needed. Please stay away from them they are rude, unprofessional and lack customer service etiquette. They will fix something that is not needed just to make money off you!!!!! read more

Very poor customer service. If I could pick less of a star I would. I found a car at this dealer on cars.com. Went there to buy and oh boy should I have read the reviews prior to getting there ! Customer service is the worst ever. Salesman Caesar was trying to assist, but the manager there is a stuck up hard headed disrespectful person that doesn't care a bit about who you are and don't even talk to you. We spent 2 hours at this dealer going back and fourth with salesman and manager changing their mind about service agreed to despite agreeing and me signing the WE OWE form !!!!!!! Me and my friend ended up leaving without the car due to poor service. They are the worst when it comes to service and reading other people's reviews will concur what I'm saying. Price of the car was decent but I rather paying more than treated like someone begging for their service !!! My first time buying a car here and it will be my last. We recently purchased a used car from this establishment and were told all the wonderful things about the car but none of the bad. In particular, we were never told that the vehicle only had 1 set of keys. It was not until the transaction was complete and they drove the car around for us when we were made aware of the situtation. We kindly inquired about the spare key and we were told that they would try and contact the previos owner. Several days later after I left a couple of messages for our salesman we were told that they would not be able to help us acquire a second set. I explained to them that I bought the car for the full asking price and did not hassle about the price and that if I had known it only had 1 set of keys I would have insisted on a discount to compensate for the 2nd set of keys I would need to purchase. I then spoke to the manager Raul who is also the guy who helped finance the car. I found it funny that when we were sitting in his office signing the finance papers he was extremely friendly and personable. Now that I had an issue and was voicing my complaint he wasn't so friendly. He told me that they would not help me or reimburse me for a 2nd set of keys to the vehicle. He then referred me to the general manager of the establishment Marvin Pinky. I spoke to Marvin and explained that a 2nd set of keys is essential and I will have to purchase them as soon as possible and he blatantly told me that he is not willing to help me. He said "we appreciate your business but we won't be able to help you." I found this laughable because I just spent $20,000 here and he is going to fight me over $200. I feel deceived by Metro Ford and their unwillingness to help find a resolution to the problem speaks volumes of their character. Customer care is not their priority here. I will not be going back and I advise anyone who is looking into Metro Ford to look elsewhere. read more
