If you're looking for a new or used vehicle this is NOT the place to look. Don't waste your time with these people. Today, my boyfriend & I, had an appointment to look at a used 2017 Honda HR-V. The photos on their website looked decent, but looks can be deceiving. We took a look at their 2018 HR-V to compare to the used 2017; the 2018 was great! We liked what we saw & wanted to see the 2017. First thing we noticed on the 2017 was the outside had so many scratches! I couldn't believe how many it had (keep in mind it was a lease vehicle so we didn't expect it to be a 100% perfect), but the amount of scratches was UNBELIEVABLE! So we checked the inside which was the WORSE & I mean WORSE part! Once we opened the car we already saw scratches all over the doors and some weird goo stuff around the steering wheel, then we opened up the trunk; there was so much dog hair all over the place! It was unbelievable how dirty it was! We also looked at the sunroof. It was full of dog hair lodged into the crevices, which was affecting the sunroof from opening and closing. We told the sales guy about our concerns; he said that he would call a manager to see what he could do. Despite the flaws we still wanted to give the car a chance, so we test drove it. The test driving passed on our end. When it came down to pricing we saw it online for $18,300. The sales guy that helped us out said whatever price we saw online they will give it to us. After talking it over we thought of the pros and cons. Our main concern were the scratches, dog hair, & the messiness of the car. The sales guy finally called his manger to see what he could do about the issues we had. So this is where our nightmare comes in. The used car manger comes out (Albert). We let him know our concerns & he took a look at the car and said "it's not that bad, what do you expect? it's a lease" blah blah blah... But still for it only having one owner; the condition it was in ehh I don't know. I kept asking him questions about the car: the maintenance of the car, it's last oil change, etc. He said "I don't know anything about the car." Which is a joke, because how are you going to try and sell us a car without knowing anything about it!! He ended up telling us that he would detail the car for us for free & would try to take out all the problems areas. We asked him if we can get the car detailed today & he seemed a little unsure. He kept saying it takes up to two hours, which we didn't mind waiting. Now the negotiating part comes in. This is where the whole scam starts. We try and negotiate a price he says it's not negotiable. We said ok, can we take off $300 an even $18,000 still no! He brought us the price of how much it would be with tax and all that other stuff. He came up with $21,000. We were still a little unhappy with the price. I noticed that he was charging us for some additional stuff that is optional, which we told him no thanks! That's when he kept demanding we need it! We told him no we don't want it!He said okay, "I'll give it to you at a fair price." It was optional, but he just kept saying how it would be difficult to remove. Finally he said okay I'll take it off... Which he should of done in the first place because It's OPTIONAL! After checking my boyfriends credit, we got approved; we still wanted to try & negotiate. We're still unsure about the car.. I know we should of left sooner just by looking at the car. We wanted to look past the dog hair & the messiness of it. We were getting a little desperate at this point which shouldn't have happened (rookie mistake but lesson learned). This is where he hits us with the biggest scam ever! He told us that the payments would be $500! He added up the gap insurance which was $886; extended warranty which was $1,000. He came up with the total of everything $36,000 basically close $37,000!!! NO WAY! He said it would be $21,000 with tax and everything before. How the heck do you come up with $36,000? We even said "Why would you add gap and extended warranty without asking us?" Which its optional! He said "No! you need it!" The monthly was to high! He kept trying to make us feel like he was giving us the best damn deal by bringing up that they're going to detail the car. Which should of been done in the first place! & by removing an optional charge! We said we can't do the price, It's way to much for what their asking. He didn't try & negotiate or help us in any way. This has been our first and worst experience dealing with the WORST car dealership! Literally no one put any effort trying to sell us the car or negotiate. It was a joke! Every time we asked questions about the car, they didn't know! We're so glad that we didn't end up getting scammed by these people. We're still in shock with $36,000 lol. I would highly recommend looking else where, because this place will rip you off, keep forcing extra fees, & stuff for the car you don't need (which is optional!) I guess your option doesn't matter to them! read more
