I'm a fan. Fresh, fast and friendly sums up my experience at this place. Hubby and I stopped in for some fueling up before a stroll on the Beltline. I got the 3-item (half sandwich and 2 salads) and hubby got the 2-item plate (half sandwich and 1 salad). The portions are HUGE and I probably could have gotten away with a 2-item plate but I wanted to try as many things as possible. Despite eating all three items, I didn't feel fat and uncomfortable because everything was fresh and healthy. The salads were better than the sandwich, but I should have probably asked them to warm up/toast my sandwich like hubby did instead of eating it cold. They also have soups, which we didn't try, and they looked great. Next time we will try some soup! I'd say eating here is a great value. The ambiance is VERY casual and it is in a strip mall, which I try to avoid at all costs, but we are in Atlanta (land of tacky strip malls) so I just grin and bear it . The interior was cheery and bright and the cashier was helpful and pleasant despite the busy lunch rush. They have indoor and outdoor seating and we enjoyed dining outside during an unseasonably warm winter day. My only requests for Metro Fresh: 1. Just a quick note to share that MetroFresh provides really amazing catering. I have hired them for a handful of professional events. I completely trust Mitchell to come up with a menu that is innovative and a great departure from the typical catered food you find at work events. He's done lobster tacos for me, a terrific golden beet salad, and so much more. My guests are always very complimentary about the flavor of the food and the presentation. The presentation is great because I am not a Martha Stewart type who knows how to make things look lovely, or even knows exactly what I need in terms of the set up half of the time! Mitchell works with you to make sure that everything for your event is seamless, even helping you contract with vendors for table rentals, etc. Mitchell is also very mindful of your budget. That said, if he suggests an extra server be on hand or an additional or different appetizer, etc. TRUST HIM. I've been here many times after our weekly run, which is usu. not busy during morning times. FOOD: We usu. get their breakfast foods. I always get their muffin which always changes. It's always fresh and very tasty. This past Saturday I had their banana muffin which was moist and tasty! I got their Breakfast BLT - $8 Three Strips Hand Cut Bacon, Baby Arugula, Savory Tomato Jam and Two Fried Eggs on Grilled Multigrain Toast. Since I'm a vegetarian, I asked them to take off the bacon, but they suggested avocado instead. Great substitute! It was nice size sandwich which filled me up until dinner time. read more

We were in Atlanta for a day and were looking for a non-fried option for lunch and Metro Fresh was perfect. Plenty of seating inside and out and a number of fresh, healthy meals on the menu. I had the 3-bean slaw which was well-dressed and so flavorful, as well as a side of the chicken. My sister had the tuna salad and lemonade, and my Aunt had the kale salad with pears and nectarines. Everything tasted great, and the portions were far from skimpy. Oh, even if you dont order a salad try their basil vinaigrette. It is ridiculously good! I took some to go, just to slather on my leftover chicken. Oh Metro Fresh, I wish I could pack you up and take you home with me. Hectic, and a little confusing. Given that today's weather was the first real nice weekend of the year so-far, it's understandable that MetroFresh was really busy. That being said, the busy-ness made navigating the place fairly tough for the first-timer. After we figured the layout and the ordering process(es), we got soups, sammiches, and a fresh piece of bread. It can be a bit much for the newb around these parts, especially with a host of yoga pants-wearing ladies prodding you. The clientele is a perfect match for this place, as a steady stream of park folks, families, and upscale urbanites were wall-to-wall without the uppity attitudes usually associated with Midtown "fresh" places. MetroFresh has a nice mix of decor and feel but without the feel of said eateries. We are definitely coming back to give more stars, but hopefully the spring rush will have subsided, and we can properly rate this place on an even keel. What we did have to munch on was great, but I have a feeling that this place has things that really shine. I want to try them. read more

MetroFresh is great if you're looking for a healthy, quick, & light meal. Everything is à la carte, and it's probably better to come here for lunch if you decide on the salads. My meal was fresh, but I could tell they make large batches and use them for the entire day. I came around 4:30 PM for a super early dinner. I ordered two salads (only 5 bucks each!!), which were more than enough for me, since I had a large nut milk from another outlet. They usually have about 6-8 different types of salads available including (but not limited to): fruit, traditional leafy, slaw, tuna, chicken, meat, or pasta. The sauces and dressings are what make this place stand out. I'm not exactly sure what was in the dressing for the winter slaw I ordered, but it was sweet & delicious! The winter slaw had purple & green cabbage, apples & carrots, pumpkin seeds & craisins, and the flavor that really made this dish stand out were the sesame seeds. I also ordered a mixed greens salad with blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and crumbled goat cheese. A simple and traditional recipe, but the tangy-pow came from the pesto dressing it was accompanied with. The eatery is located in Midtown Promenade, in between Mellow Mushroom and Ah-Ma's Taiwanese Kitchen and close to Trader Joe's and Starbucks. So...you can expect parking to be difficult. That said, the lot is usually packed, and you're bound to be competing with another person or two for an opening. Since I was just picking up my meal to-go, a parking spot was conveniently provided by MetroFresh with a 10-minute limit. When I got my sandwich it was premade and preweapped. For the price of this place I expect food to be prepared fresh. I could have gone to a fast food joint for cheaper. Hands down my favorite lunch spot! Their menu consists of 6-8 soups and (not or, AND) salads and a couple sandwiches. Everything is made fresh. I've been going there for about 3 years now have never had the same thing twice. I don't know how they do it! I do see the Mitchili on the menu often, I believe named after their owner Mitchell. I usually do the pick 2 for $10 and get a soup and one of their delightful salads. I finally broke down and tried one of their sammies one day and I was not disappointed. You get a roll with your meal as well, my favorite is the pretzel. The best part about MF is you feel leaving healthy and satisfied. Who doesn't want that?! Their online menu labels everything with GF, Vegan, if it contains eggs or dairy, etc. so you're aware of what you're eating. Staff is always extremely pleasant. They truly seem to love working there. There's plenty of parking, although, you may to drive around a couple minutes for a spot. Which is nothing for Midtown. Unique and fresh options. I like to come here for lunch as I work close by. The menu changes daily so I like to drop in when I see something I might want to try on their website (They update their website daily to show what they're serving that day DUH.. but nonetheless super convenient!) I typically get their sides instead of their soups or sandwiches and everything I've tried were all very good- Good size portions and "healthier" choices. If taking to-go, line usually goes quick and your in and out of there- The only thing I HATE about coming here is the PARKING. Lunch hours on a weekday, it's chaotic in the parking lot with all the restaurants, starbucks, and trader joes right next to it. One of my favorite restaurants for everyday dinner in Atlanta! I eat out a ton and this is one of my go-to places. The menu changes everyday so you already know it's fresh!! I used to be disappointed at changing menus but honestly, they have never once failed me.. everything has been good. I usually get the fish entree and a soup. Today is was split pea soup (im not the biggest fan of peas but it was BOMB) and blackened tilapia w/ smoked Gouda grits and Pico (see pic). The staff is always lovely and never has a problem when I order right before I close (I know, I know but sometimes I'm that person bc I work late). Healthy, fresh and fast - a small menu but it changes daily. I find myself checking the each day to see if I want to swing by for a to-go order. I've often bought the quart of soup to save for the next day, or eaten a salad as a leftover and it's consistently delicious. I've taken many friends here and everyone has been impressed. Oh MetroFresh, how I love you. This place rocks. Daily menu with fresh ingredients to fit any dietary need without compromising quality or taste. I hit up MetroFresh at least once a month and am never disappointed. The only drawback would be location. The parking lot is a zoo if you go on the weekend so be warned. You will have to fight for a parking spot and sometimes it can take awhile. Once you're parked, it's worth it. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner with dishes specific to each meal. They have a daily selection of 5-6 soups, 5-6 handmade salads, and 2 sandwiches. For dinner, they have 4-5 different entrees each night including the basic chicken, seafood, and beef. I've always gotten things from the soup and salad choices but I've had friends order entrees and breakfast items and raved about them just as much. Today I had their veggie trail mix with a mustard vinaigrette and basil chicken salad with plums, celery, and walnuts. The veggie trail mix is one of my favs because it's finely chopped veggies with cranberrys or raisins and pepitas to create a crunchy delightful veggie salad. The basil chicken salad was made with EVOO Mayo and had a great balance of texture due to the contrast between the celery and walnuts with the plums and chicken. It wasn't drenched in the mayo either which I like because I'm not a huge mayo person. The best part about MetroFresh is the portion size because I now have lunch for tomorrow too! You can order as many of the salads or soups as you like too. They have a sampler where you can try 4 so if you can't decide, that's a great option. Overall, I would highly recommend this to anyone! For someone who has gluten and dairy restrictions, they make it easy because they list out on the descriptions if it has meat, gluten, dairy, or fish. We randomly stopped in for breakfast one morning. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Our food was ready very quickly. I got the smoked salmon bagel and it was amazing! It's made up of cream cheese, smoked salmon, guacamole, and pico all piled on top of a bagel. I was only able to eat half of it and was so sad I couldn't take the rest to go (I'm not from ATL and was about to be on the road for 5 hours). Will be back next time we are in the area! read more

MetroFresh is my absolute favorite gluten free friendly restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They change their menu every day and I subscribe to their mailing list so I can see ahead of time what the choices will be. All the items are clearly marked as gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, dairy, etc... So if you follow any kind of dietary guidelines you are definitely covered! The soups, salads and various entrees are ALWAYS delicious. The only cons for this restaurant have nothing to do with the food; the parking can be extremely limited as it's surrounded by several other restaurants as well as Starbucks, Trader Joe's and retail spaces so all the customers are vying for the same parking spots. And due to the acoustics inside the restaurant it can get too loud during lunch time on weekdays to carry on a comfortable conversation. But if the weather is nice then there is seating outside which is nice. Word to the wise: If there are any left when you get there, be sure to try one of their gluten free muffins of the day! read more

On this particular day, I had the "pick two" combo and chose the Low-Carb Chicken Gumbo and the Roasted Turkey Sandwich with a cranberry-lemon zest sauce, fresh blue cheese slices and arugula on pumpernickel bread. It was soooo delicious! In addition to the two menu items, you get a drink and a fresh baked cookie. The drink choices are a limited selection of wine, lemonade, and sweet tea. We had a brief, dine-in lunch and the staff was super friendly. This was my first time and I wasn't really sure I would like it, but I've been thinking of the food ever since. I took a coworker here two weeks ago for lunch. The sandwiches are overwhelmed with unnecessarily fat bread. They could offer some softer thinner bread especially since we all know that bread in general is not that healthy. But that's not the big problem. While eating my salad, I bit into something hard. At first I thought it was a fruit stem if some sort. When I was unable to bite through it I spit it out. It was a piece of slightly rusted steel wire!! Yes, wire. I took it to the checkout person who apologized. Later he returned and explained that the wire was a broken piece of the colander they used in the kitchen. He offered me a free dessert. Luckily for my throat and the rest of my internal plumbing I did not swallow the foreign object. So enjoy your meal, but watch out for the broken pieces of metal negligently left in your food. read more

Let me start by saying that I LOVE fresh figs. Like a lot. So when I saw the fresh fig, goat cheese, and basil sandwich, my mind was made up. But I was still skeptical... I've had a relatively hard time finding fresh figs anywhere in the states, so what are the odds that these guys are putting them on a sandwich? Maybe, by fresh figs, they meant freshly *dried* figs. Like in the same way that Wendy's somehow gets away with stating that their burgers are made from "fresh" ground beef... But I stand corrected! The figs were indeed fresh and I was left wondering how I can get in on this fresh fig thing... As far as the sandwich, it was as good as I would expect from something containing such divine ingredients. They didn't skimp on the goat cheese and I appreciated that they used huge basil leaves in lieu of greens. I also had Matzo ball chicken soup, which was delicious. Plenty of veggies and the chicken had that was-cooked-until-it-fell-off-the-bone texture that just screams "homemade." Well-seasoned Matzo ball and broth too. I just finished eating it 2 hours ago and I'm still craving it! Yeah, you can bet I'll be back for some of that. I've been disappointed every time at lunch, but had better luck with the dinner menus. The sandwiches, while tasty could be made at home. The only thing taking them to the next level is the bread. The soups hit the spot as far as a warming meal but flavor and texture are all over the place. I hate to say this because the cashier gave me free lemonade and they were really friendly but the food was not good to me. Nothing I ate out of the loaded potato soup, tuna salad, or salted Caramel bar was good. I ate two bites from the salad and ate most of the soup but it was unremarkable. I can see why people like them because of the healthy food options but I'd rather good tasting food. I'm surprised by all the four-star reviews. I came here with a friend before the movies and was disgusted by my food. I ordered the soup and half sandwich. The turkey chili sort of disintegrated as you took each bite because of how many times it must have been reheated. The half sandwich came in saran wrap and the bread already looked soggy. I am addicted to Metrofresh. I think the name says it all. If you are into soups and salads with a twist, this is the place to go! The soups are excellent. I recommend the chili. It is turkey chili and very healthy. It is not your traditional chili with tons of spices but rather is a hearty stew with beans, bell peppers, chunks of tomatoes and turkey. Soo good in the winter and even the summer! Sign up for their mailing list and you will get a daily email with the menu. It changes every day and there is always good food. My only advise is to get there kinda early during the lunch crowd or it may be difficult to find a table. read more

I really hate to give MetroFresh 1 star, as I have had numerous lunches here that were delicious and the staff is extremely nice. However, I am sitting here with the second case of food poisoning that I can directly attribute to their salad case. After the first time, I just assumed that the chicken salad had been out too long. That's their mistake. Yesterday I had the farro salad and have spent the last 6 hours running to the bathroom to throw up and have severe chills.
