It's been quite awhile since I've last ordered from here. And, while prices have gone up some, it's not as bad as some other places. On my last order of their Greek Burger, I was really disappointed, as they had changed to a sesame bun. And, it really did change the taste. But, since I have been craving one, I bought some brioche buns to use as a replacement. Wow! This place is really REALLY REEAAAALLLY GOOD! Very modern for Milledgeville, and very nice inside! We had a table outside quick, but after a while it got too cold so we moved inside when there was space available- the team was super friendly & accomodating. We ordered hummus as an appetizer- WOOOOWW!!!! Everyone loved it! Served with fresh pita & this is homemade with love hummus!! We ordered our meals; I got the Veggie Kabab with Rice- SCRUMPTIOUS & you will see pics of the some of the others. Fresh, delicious & served with a smile. Not huge inside & not sure if they take reservations. We were there around 7 pm & it was packed! Definitely will come back next time we are in town!!! Worth it!!! This restaurant is a lot of bells and whistles and no flavor. The interior is clean and organized, but unsurprisingly empty. The food is overpriced Sysco garbage. $12 for a small salad with three pieces of chicken? Crazy work. We will not be returning. read more

This has become my go to healthy take out place! I have been eating Mediterranean for over 6 months now and sometimes you just need not to cook. We have tried pretty much the whole menu by now. Our repeat orders are usually chicken shawarma or the grilled chicken. If you do a meal for 2 you get salads as well. That's a nice healthy option. The gyros are good but I like mine dressed more and sometimes that has been forgotten. Rice is worth adding a second order for the next day as well. Now my absolute favorite item is the baba ganouj, hands down. Enough so, my hubby will bring me a batch with the fresh pita on nights that I am still cooking. Disappointing experience. I came here last year and was very pleased. I was looking forward to eating here my next trip. When I arrived, there were only two tables occupied. I waited for almost 5 minutes to be seated. Got my water right away, but then rarely got checked on. The maximum number of tables seated while I was there was only 6 (1/3 of the tables). The food is fine. It tastes good, it's basic Greek fare, nothing too special. The gyro platter was good, and both souvlakis were fine but could've used a bit more sauce. The Greek burger was dry, dry, dry though. Could have made it out of baby powder and sand and it would have been moister and probably much tastier. Good lord. Been here 3-4 times and the bathrooms are always spotless and smell nice and are well stocked. A comfortable place to return that gyro and pita and feta and whatnot. ***LOCATION*** There is free street parking right out front with plenty of spots and it's located downtown with other bars and restaurants if you want to go to see live music or something after, it's very easy to walk around. ***ATMOSPHERE*** It was very chill the night we came, there weren't many people but it was nice inside. There was a bar area and plenty of tables around in that room and another. The staff were also really nice and we had a weird request to split the check a certain way and they were able to do it for us with no issue, which was really nice! ***FOOD*** AMAZING. I mainly eat vegetarian but occasionally will have chicken when I go out. I ended up getting a chicken gyro and it's probably the best chicken I have had since starting to each chicken again. It was incredible!! It had so much flavor and the gyro was just 20 on a scale of 1-10 lol. I got a side salad and beer as well. I got one of their sours that the waiter recommended and it was really good. I regret not taking a pic but I was so hungry and it looked so good I really tore it up ahaha ***CONCLUSION*** I wish I lived near here I would come weekly it was soo good!! This was one of our most favorite places in milledgeville before they moved to the new facility across the street. The old place was more authentic cozy and very representative of the area. The new site is going for the wannabe South Beach look. Food is the same and excellent but the wait staff is allowed to sit by the bar like they did in the old place which is great but this is such a bigger facility it always looks empty. When the idea of going there comes up I often bulk whereas at the old place I always jumped at the chance so maybe newer and bigger is not always better. read more

When someone orders an item without x ingredien due to allergies. Then you bring out said item and announce it is the item without x ingredient and every one at the table is looking at x ingredient hanging off the dish. That's a bad start. Part of your job as a waiter is making sure my meal is right. So I tell you to take it away and I don't want ANYTHING. That doesn't mean bring out a replacement dish in 3 minutes, which means most likely you scraped off the offending substance And brought the original item back out. I don't feel like having breathing problems for the next 4 hours because you effed up. If it was up to me you would not have received a tip, especially as another person at the table was complaining about his order and saying he would not be tipping you. I'm definitely not a happy camper. I have eaten here 50-60 times but won't be back for a while to see if they get their shite together. read more

We were in town for a competition at Georgia Military College today and decided to check out a local eatery. Metropolis did not disappoint. We were welcomed upon entering and shown a few table options for our party of 5. We chose the booth in the upper portion area towards the back. It is very dimly lit so be ware (more lighting would be nice). We loved most of the items described on the menu however we narrowed it down to a hummus plate for apps, kids chicken meal, kids cheeseburger meal, metropolis gyro with fries, Greek burger with broccoli, Kalomato olives, green gyro and some drinks. Our drinks and app arrived quickly. All of our food was delicious, fresh and enjoyed by all in our party. We will be back and we recommend checking it out! read more

My golfing partner recommended that I try Metropolis Cafe on Thursdays if I enjoyed Indian cuisine. I finally went, ordering Butter Chicken while my wife chose Chicken Tikka Masala. Here's a bit about my background with Indian cuisine. I commuted to Singapore for two years, lived in China for eight years, and spent a month in Malaysia. Over these 11 years, I dined at many Indian restaurants both in the States and overseas. While I'm no expert, I've had my fair share of Indian food. Unfortunately, both dishes at Metropolis Cafe lacked flavor and had a thin consistency, as if they had been watered down. I won't return there for Indian food. If you are looking for flavor, this place definitely has an explosion of it for a good price. I got the steak kebab with broccoli (which is the best broccoli I have ever had) and it filled me up for the day. The restaurant has a very relaxed mood, so it is great for a casual night out or mid-day lunch break. The staff doesn't really have a uniform and let us sit wherever we wanted. This was a little off putting as first time guests because we weren't sure what the layout was or really where to go when we walked in due to the lack of host-desk. The servers were not very energetic and took a while, but they goes with the relaxed and dimly lit mood of the restaurant.
