I can't think of a better market to get food or wine beer or any breakfast hot food or salad bar or fresh deli sandwich I really like the location it's family owned and they feature boars head, which is my favorite meat and cheese and it's right next to my job so it's very convenient to run over about $15 a sandwich after tax but it's definitely worth it. The ambience is wonderful big city small town inside field with this family owned presents in such a busy neighborhood. They even have indoor seating where you can sit at the table or my favorite is to look out the window and people watch while I eat. read more

We love this little deli cafe! It's definitely a neighborhood cafe and great when you need a quick bite to eat or need a few miscellaneous items. The ladies who run/work it are so friendly, always. They have treats for our dog and love saying hello. The prices are like most sandwich shops I've been too, so I wouldn't come every day because it would add up. It may be a bit pricey compared to the convenience and grocery stores around town but honestly, it's a very nice place. They don't just have beer, wine, basic home needs, and beverages. Extremely disappointing customer service. Don't go if you're a person of color. You may be upcharged or even charged for the wrong item. But far worse than that, there's a clear difference in the way that white patrons are treated vs. POC. This deli is so close to my apartment and convenient. I've been to other metropolitan delis around seattle but this one is quite nice! They have a great selection of alcohol and snacks. I love that it's more of a convenience store than it is just a deli. They also have a hot food bar, but everytime I've been it has been sold out. The sandwiches are also quite good - I've tried the tuna melt and the breakfast sandwich and would recommend both. They are pretty generous with the proportions and the associates there are really friendly! After walking up 1st street to a few overly crowded coffee shops, I popped in here because I was looking for coffee and a breakfast bite. I got a latte and deluxe breakfast sandwich and everything was delicious. What I really appreciated is that they use real eggs for their breakfast sandwich...literally cracked it and cooked it for the order (unlike pre-packaged breakfast sandwiches at other places). So, it was super fresh, hot and delicious. And it's a corner market so they have groceries and a sandwich deli counter that also looked yummy. read more

Ate breakfast here after reading Yelp review and it's one block from my lodging. Liked it so much I went back for a sandwich for supper. Clean place. Immaculate actually. Orderly as can be. Breakfast burrito was tasty and piping hot. Simple eggs, cheese and meat choice. But fresh and hot. Supper was the Mercer sandwich. It was hearty and served hot by a very nice counter person who was friendly to me. Half of the sandwich is filling. There was a big beer and wine selection for a neighborhood deli. This little café and corner market just opened and my roommate and I were super excited to have a store right next to our building for coffee, sandwiches and random food items. The shop is beautiful and has a pretty impressive variety of good brand foods. They even have Gardein for my veg cravings. I ended up getting a breakfast sandwich (no meat) on a croissant with my choice of cheddar. Roomie got hers with Gouda and ham. They are delicious! And the eggs are so fluffy!! We introduced ourselves to Michael who is one of the owners. He's friendly and excitedly told us about their hot food bar for lunch and invited invited us back. They've even got a small but seemingly quality selection of beer and wine. And their coffee prices are good with serve-yourself drip. I'm totally going to be one of the regulars here :) read more

Stay away unless you are ready to pay a mandatory tip. I ordered 2 sandwiches and since we are having it to go, I decided not to tip. The worker running the deli confronted us saying we must tip because it is part of the Seattle culture, even though we are grabbing the sandwich to go! She stated "This isn't a McDonald's." The food is good but the customer service is trash. The male Manager is very kind but the Lady that works in the morning is disrespectful and ignorant. Shows great customer service to everyone except people of color. She had an attitude taking my order while rolling her eyes. To continue, she carelessly made my order and threw it on the counter and turned her back to me before I could even say thank you. The deli is small and clean with big windows and plenty of natural sunlight. It's a mix between a deli and small upscale convenience store. The two women who worked here are friendly and quick with making the sandwiches. I ordered a John St Reuben. The sandwich was so delicious that I was a little disappointed in its thin size. I was taking my 12 year old sister to the Pacific Science center and we stumbled upon this little deli. Me and little sister both got the "Mercer Street Madness". It was absolutely delicious. It was definitely made with better ingredients than those of subway and quiznos. The people working there are very nice as well. The gentleman working at the register even brought out my sandwhich to me as I was sitting at my table. And as I was about to leave I started to bus my own table, but the nice lady working there told me it was okay and started cleaning it for us. This place has a little convenience store area with tons of snacks, drinks and wine. On the other side of the store, they have a salad bar and a hot food station where you can serve yourself and buy by the pound. Super convenient to stop by and pick up something when I'm hungry. The busier part of their place is the deli, where they make sandwiches. I got the Monorail on the Italian roll and it was absolutely delicious. They can toast the sandwich for you which makes sandwich warm and crispy. Breakfast sandwiches are also made all day, I'll definitely be taking advantage of that! I purchased a deluxe breakfast sandwich for $4.49 which includes the following: 1 piece of thin bacon, looks like 2 eggs, a slice of American cheese on a croissant. I discovered this due to the fact the egg was hanging off the croissant-lol. I called to inquire about the amount of bacon and was told the above. So for $4.49 you will ONLY GET 1 STRIP of paper thin bacon. Where as any other establishment offering breakfast sandwiches I'm sure you can get at least 2 pieces of bacon. Should I order from them again (which I'm sure I wont) I'll order a egg and cheese ONLY BS. The services isnt that great!
