What made the experience even more memorable was the hospitality. The owner was there, took the time to chat with guests, and was incredibly kind. As a nice surprise, he even treated us to complimentary turon, which was such a thoughtful gesture and a perfect way to end the meal. It's little moments like that that make a restaurant stand out. Great food, warm hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere make Ludi's an easy recommendation for anyone visiting downtown Seattle. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town.

Once we were seated, the food came out pretty quick and we all fell in love. Every single bite was delicious and you can taste the love put into each dish. The ube pancakes lived up to the hype! not too sweet, perfect texture, and a flavor that was so perfect. The combo plate was amazing and I could eat a ton of their lumpia. Ambiance is homey and comfy, with photos all over the walls and a lively atmosphere. The owner himself came to chat with us about the food. We saw him walking around and being present with plenty of customers and that added a very special touch. he even gave us a magnet souvenir to take home. I will definitely be going back next time i'm in seattle and cannot recommend enough!

Both counter folks were personable and welcoming. I was able to sit at a two top and remain cool during my brief visit on that hot Tuesday early afternoon. They've been an indie (Cafe Hagen/Freya) that has expanded to many locations: here in SLU, two on Queen Anne, downtown on 5th, at Dexter, the Waterfront, Freya in Pike Place Market and Nordic Museum in Ballard, plus sites over in Bellevue and Kirkland. It was such a great evening. FareStart does really meaningful work. These dinners are part of their program to give people who are training to become cooks and chefs real hands-on experience in a professional setting. Many of the students are working toward a fresh start and a new career path through culinary training, and it's inspiring to see the program in action. We were seated on the second floor, which I actually loved because it gave us a great view of everything happening throughout the dining room. The meal itself was excellent. The chicken adobo was outstanding, the asparagus appetizer was fresh and beautifully prepared, and the calamansi cake dessert was a perfect finish. Another thing I appreciated was how they involve different Seattle companies as volunteer front-of-house staff. Tonight it was a team from U.S. Bank serving tables. Several of them mentioned they had never served before but were volunteering their time for the evening, which made the experience feel even more special. Between the volunteer servers and the students in the kitchen, the whole night had a great energy. If you're looking for a unique dinner experience in Seattle that also supports a meaningful cause, I would definitely recommend checking out one of these events. It's a great way to support people working to overcome barriers to employment while enjoying a really memorable meal.

The staff was very attentive with refills and checking on meals. Orders came out quickly and correctly for a large group of 15. The food was very good. They ask for a donation to the program in lieu of tips. They do not take reservations for tables, but we had no trouble finding a table for 15 on a Thursday at noon. Would highly recommend.

I can walk a block away and save $4-$5 at a place around the corner. that has better food. The last pet peeve - Tipping. Their default tip screen is 20%/25%/30%. I am more than happy to tip for service, but asking for a 30% tip for an employee that took 30 seconds to dish me up pre-cooked teryaki and rice from steam trays is inexcuseable. I've gotten to the point where the only time I go to Melange is when I only have ten minutes to get food. There are plenty of better-tasting and more affordable options within a few blocks that I generally hit when possible.
