I think the drinks were excellent but the food was just ok. They brought our ranch when the menu said aioli (which was a near miss with my dairy allergy). This very much seems like a neighborhood spot and the bar is where all the socializing happens. The bartenders were friendly and chatting with the regulars throughout. Would come back for the drinks and pricing for happy hour. Might try the brunch next time.

Stopped in last weekend for brunch as a party of 8 to watch the woman's NCAA finals and the staff was super accommodating. One of the reasons why I really enjoy coming here is because I know their ingredients are fresh and is always delicious! A special thanks to the staff for letting us request the game!

Love this place. Palmer was really nice and gave me great service! I got their Onion Rings, Deluxe Pumpkin Latte, and Rabbit Ear IPA. Their Diablo Aioli is delicious and the portion of the rings were worth the price. Will be back for more Rabbit Ear IPA Love the halloween decorations too

The oldest diner in the area, smack in the middle of capital hill, this place was crowded and a bit loud. The food was ok but would have benefited from a little longer in the fryer. Lots of regulars, this is more of a neighborhood hangout than a restaurant. The emphasis is on the bar and not the grille.

Friendly neighborhood bar in a relaxed part of capital hill. All the bartenders are nice. I forgot the name of the bartender that served me with the gauge in her ear but she was very personable. I had one of their monthly special burgers which had bacon jam on it. Delicious! Nothing spectacular here, just bar food.

We stopped in a for a quick bite. We were able to get in, order drinks & appetizers, our main entree' and out, just as quick as a whistle. We opted to try the cauliflower bites on the appetizer menu. I don't know what they were breaded in, but they were de-lish-ous! Great flavor, generous portion, accompanied with dipping sauce (blue cheese?). I would order again. For my entree, I ordered the Monterery Chicken sandwich. Good portion of chicken, bacon & all the extras. Forgot the pic, I was too hungry. Friendly staff, quick service.

This is officially my new favorite bar, tucked directly into the heart of Cap Hill at the end of Broadway! They have great drinks, happy hour specials, TVs for all the major sports games, and two pool tables. It's a great vibe if you're looking for a laid-back but fun evening. The bartenders here are SO awesome and sweet, and they seriously make every visit memorable! I stop in to play pool, and the tables are usually pretty free (or have a max ~30 minute wait)! It's a great spot for an NFL Sunday, since they have all the games going too. The Brussels Sprouts here are SO. DARN. GOOD. The glaze is perfection and they're crispy and come out super quickly -- cannot recommend enough. This spot is such a hidden gem, and I definitely see myself coming back here often!

The Deluxe is a Capitol Hill institution. Great service by long term staff, reliable and good dishes. Not fancy, always good. Alaska family that visits here, for shopping and sports, request to go Deluxe for salmon (of all things) because the quality and taste is often better here than at home or at downtown seafood locations. Same for fish and chips. I just go for some of the best Cobb and other salads in Seattle. Good tap beer and rotating cider selection. David is the best.

Mel's Pork Sandwich Slider

I'm a little shocked that the reviews for this spot are all over the place. I came here on a total whim and thought it was great. Super lively staff, they treat everyone as if you are lifelong friends! Mel's Dr. Pepper glazed pulled pork + BBQ mango habanero sauce on the sliders was delectable. The warm brioche bun was also A+! It's a bit divey but the food does not align with that vibe- it's much better. Their menu says something like "it's as fancy as you want it to be" and I think that's a perfect summary of what you get here.

A place that has taken the feedback and has gotten better each time. Been here consistently for the past few months and each time the service, food, quality, and drinks have been nothing less than amazing. Happy to have a safe eating spot for when I want some comforting food!

The arboretum-inspired interior creates a warm, inviting space that's perfect whether you're meeting friends, getting some work done, or simply taking a break from the day. The coffee was excellent, and one of the highlights of my visit was trying their Mocha Flight. It was a fun and creative way to sample several different mocha variations side by side. While I ultimately decided that I'm still a fan of the classic mocha, I'm glad I tried it--it made for a unique coffee experience. Another nice surprise is that Hagen also has a full bar, so it's a great place to return later in the day if you're in the mood for a cocktail instead of coffee. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions, making the experience even more enjoyable. Between the excellent coffee, creative drink offerings, beautiful interior, and relaxed atmosphere, Hagen Café is a place I'd happily recommend to anyone looking for a unique café experience in Seattle. I'll definitely be back.

Tempting pastry case with savory and sweet choices, the usual bevs, as well as, cocktails. Vibrant place to visit solo or meetups with others. The 16oz iced mokka (mocha) I had was well crafted. Both counter folks were personable and welcoming. I was able to sit at a two top and remain cool during my brief visit on that hot Tuesday early afternoon. The croissant was on the crispier side, especially with the almond crumble on top it was a bit too cripsy for me, but I tend to like soft and flakey pastries so it's probably a matter of taste. The chocolate was slightly dark which worked well with the sweet pastry and filling! Overall I enjoyed the croissant but it was a tad too heavy on the filling and cripsy/crunchy for me.

Key Points: - Iconic khachapuri "bread boats"…read more- minor drawback: limited coffee customization options and only forks available The Fam and I stopped by Skalka for some breakfast/brunch before perusing the rest of Seattle during my birthday week. I saw it on a few YouTube food influencer videos and was really impressed by what I saw. The their staple is their Georgian khachapuri. They're the iconic bread "boats" filled with cheese, butter, egg, and whatever comes along the variety you ordered. TBH, I actually thought they looked like little volcanoes, which is something I figured The Little One would enjoy. What we ordered: - Stroganoff: one of the popular items listed on the yelp page. The beef was rich, succulent and comforting, with a creamy, savory filling. The pickles added a bit of bright, tangy contrast to balance the richness. - Adjaruli, the classic version with cheese, butter, and egg. To me, this seemed like the plainest version, but I figured The little One would be more likely eat this because she hates anything that resembles a sauce or toppings. Both dishes were fantastic. The bread boat sort of reminded me of a pizza crust: crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside, and perfect for tearing off and dipping into the cheesy center. The Little one did especially like the crust since she's a big pizza-crust fan. Surprisingly, getting her to eat the cheese and egg was tougher, as she usually likes those. I guess that's just being a kid? Inconsistent fluctuations of opinions and likings? The Mrs. and I happily finished everything she left behind. The restaurant itself is a small, casual spot with self-service kiosks for ordering and open seating. Nothing fancy, but it's efficient. We also appreciated that they had high chairs available, making it easy to visit with a child. We did see other families with kids there too. My only gripes: - once you've submitted your kiosk order, making changes isn't really possible. The staff is so busy going in and out of the kitchen, that you really don't have any opportunity to flag them down. We actually wanted to make one minor change to our order, but by the time I managed to talk to someone about it, she informed me that the order was already being made. - If you order coffee, you need to decide on cream, half-and-half, and sugar ahead of time, seemingly preset amounts. It's entirely prepared in the kitchen, not self serve, and you can't exactly customize to your liking. - Only forks were available. No spoons, no knives. Knives would have been helpful for cutting through the thicker bread crust. Those are very minor complaints, though. The food was excellent, the concept is unique, and the meal was memorable. Won't dock any points off there.

I had ordered and beeped my card only to find out 10-15mins later that my order didn't go through and I had to reorder. It wasn't necessarily anyone's fault, but if you order with a person this doesn't happen. Toilet is broken in restroom. But the FOOD! Was amazing. They serve only one type of dish, which is like a bread boat with cheese inside and or other filling. I got the one with spinach and cheese - it is enough for 2 ppl but I finished it on my own as a very hungry pregnant lady. We also got 2 more to go - one with beans and bacon (Lobiani) and the other with beef stroganoff. Both were delicious, although the beans & bacon one has a bit of spice. I would 100% recommend eating in person though, because everything is perfect and melty when it's fresh.

However, I will say their menu is great and the holiday joy is more of a supplement rather than a cover up or gimmick. I would comfortably visit Jollidaze for their drinks and get a working session. Both parts of ube were nutty, sweet, and paired with the ca phe amazingly. Strong Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk always hits but the ube mixture is a cherry on top. However, I did end up trying one of their seasonal menu items - the Sakura Blossom Cloud Latte. I customized this drink with oat milk, even though the foam has to stay as dairy. The oat milk added a nutty creaminess that I particularly enjoyed. There were notes of the sweet Sakura syrup with a slight saltiness from the cream foam that gives the drink its perfect balance. It was a refreshing drink for a pick-me-up and they only had it for a limited time!
