This is for the food bar, not the supermarket. The food was stale and cold. I got a good variety of stuff and the flavor was ok but felt like it was sitting for some time. Went there at noon so thought the stuff would be more fresh. The Poké was a whole new level of bad, like WTF bad... the rice was cold and each grain separated itself from its peers like if they owed each other money. They were also hard and didn't taste like it was prepared at all (should have definitely just gotten some of the hot rice in the cooker) the fish was ok but seriously got ruined by that "rice". For the price, this needs to be exponentially better like magnitudes better. read more

Food bar here left much to be desired. Though their poke (especially the shrimp and spicy mayo salmon) was quite good, their rice was an insult to the palate. Dry, cold, and stale, jasmine rice should never be paired with poke, especially if its not warmed up. Their teriyaki chicken and lasagna were quite good, though their green beans were really questionable. Very hit or miss. read more

I'm here to talk about THE COOKIE. Read about Metropolitan Market during our Bellevue vacation, so had to come check it out. Highly recommend trying the legendary cookie, at least once. We bought the peanut butter one. It is VERY RICH, VERY TASTY, and VERY INDULGENT. One cookie was enough for two adults and one VERY enthusiastic foodie doggo. Even kept some leftover to enjoy the next day. We bought 2 soups to try- cioppino and French mushroom soup. They were DELISH as well, and made for a a nice light lunch! read more

This review is for probably their busiest day of the year- the day before Thanksgiving. I went at around 10:30am to pick up a pre ordered holiday meal with confirmation code in hand. Parking was tough. That was a given, but it was harder than I anticipated. Once in, there were no carts on one side. I said something to an employee and they said oh check the other side of the lobby. Once there, I did find plenty. I then told a different employee that the other side was out of carts. They were appreciative. From here on out, the experience was 5 star , Ritz Carlyon gold standard type service. Every employee was so friendly and helpful. I was looking for a lil cake slice for a bday person and someone stocking the fridge area really helped point me in the right direction and I found one of those 1 person serving cakes. Perfect! The holiday pick up area was a bit slow. Im not sure if it was just to be expected but when I had done Whole Foods and PCC in the past, they were way quicker. While I was waiting though, everyone was very friendly. The selection of lil stuffies and hostess gifts and holiday gifts was way better than any local grocery. I was able to get some upcoming white elephant parties crossed off my list with candles etc. We will be warming up all the holiday meals today so can update on how that all tastes and turns out later. Im not going into price as part of my consideration here since yes it is pricier, but it's a grocery store you can't compare to Safeway etc. read more

I stopped in on Friday night to get a bottle of wine and flowers before heading to a holiday party. I didn't check the label on the flowers and assumed it was probably $20 at the most. However when I went to check out I found out that they were $38!!!!!! Yes they are nice flowers, but not that nice. The wine was much more affordable. Moral of the story is watch out for prices at MET market because they bump everything up and cater towards people that have money to blow! read more

I've already visited MM a few times now, lots of temptations, of course being a high end market, that's to be expected. Note! Make a list before you go, to stay focused, they do have good prices on sales, during the week or if you're lucky enough to get the BOGO free coupons in the mail. Great local produce, quality meats, in a pinch you can grab a prepared meal, or just decide to be lazy. lol It's very much reminiscent of WF, without the Prime benefits. If you're looking for a little something out of the ordinary, this is definitely a place to find it. Great local beer and produce selections, along with, if you're looking for a little on the wild side, they have game meat selections as well. It's a like a New Seasons and a PCC. Prices are higher but they do carry local producers which I like. Got some SugarBee and EverCrisp local Washington apples. Enjoyed a class on the mezzanine as since they are trying to revamp the cheese/meat class. read more

I don't normally review a "grocery" store because they're hit and miss. But I was so impressed with this store. It's warm. Welcoming. And inviting from the second you walk in. The layout is great I didn't feel like I had to walk back and forth across the store and it was clean and well lit. Today I got "the cookie" i had such good intentions of taking a picture of this most delicious cookie but between me and my kiddos well that didn't happen. We also got some crackers and some House made smoked salmon dip. It was a little speedy at $15/pb but it was worth every penny and then some. It was the perfect blend of smoked salmon. Cream cheese. Onions and spices. I'd buy it all again in a heartbeat. read more

This is a great place to shop as it is convenient and you can get everything in one go. There is a bakery, self serving meals, regular groceries, fresh meat and seafood, and even some pottery and China. Overall the staff is amazing! One thing I would say is the prices. This is my favorite grocery store in Sammamish. Daily visit for a quick coffee stop before picking up the kid from daycare. Awesome deli selection, fresh produce and good variety in grocery items. I am so glad to have a good grocery shopping option in the neighborhood. I agree the prices are slightly on the higher side, but the convenience of good experience is worth that IMO. The first thing I noticed about Metropolitan Market is its polished appearance. I'm not kidding when I say the presentation of the produce looked so perfect that it should make you crave vegetables. On top of that, the meat packaging was glistening and looking down the aisles, all the items were lined up right at the edge of the shelves. Everything looked untouched.... This may be a bit concerning if it implies people are not actually doing much of their shopping here, so let's just hope that the employees are experts at keeping the store maintained! I browsed the wide selection of hot foods which all looked delicious....I wanted to try everything. There is a self-serve area where they rotate different types of hot food (Indian cuisine was featured during my visit) depending on the day and time. Additionally, they offer pizza, sushi, freshly made gourmet sandwiches and more - endless options covering all types of food preferences! Not to mention all the baked goods looked amazing. I also tried the Market's coffee shop which offers reasonably priced drinks and pastries. When it comes to regular groceries, I will admit that the fresh foods appeared to be of high quality, but I wouldn't shop here regularly since the pricing is relatively steep. Unless you're looking for local or specialized brands, you could find similar items elsewhere at a lower cost. However, when it comes to the hot prepared food..... that is what I see myself returning for! read more

Never again. I have given this place many chances to correct its mistakes. The last time I came for lunch, I noticed that there was no steam coming from the food trays, and it did not feel hot as I was serving it on my plate and also there was no white rice. I took my food, paid, and sat in my car to eat it. It was just warm!! Usually, it is hot because as far as I know there has to be a minimum temperature set for it not to grow bacteria. I ate it because I was starving but I was mad because it is obvious that no one cared, no was paying attention to the temperature and all the trays were the same. I know this is wrong because food should be held at 140 degrees or warmer. This was not the case! In my experience, most cashiers will be nicer to the non-person of color customers than me and most customers are rude when they are pushing their cart. I decided to stop shopping here and take a break of a year or so. Why buy from this place if all my experience is so negative? Blah. read more

Grand opening day today. Everything looks fresh. Staff are nice and attentive. Super crowded as everyone making their ways in and out trying not to bump into each other. Prices are a tad bit on a pricey end but you get what you pay for. Nice little sit down area as you sip on your coffee and munch on their fresh baked pastries. There's outdoor seatings for the hot summer days as well. Hot breakfast bar. Poké bar. Salad bar. You name it! What a nice market to this community! read more

Love how this market consistently offers unique products, treats and staples. The sort of things you never knew you needed or wanted which, for me, is always a fun adventure! Service always good with abundant staff around the store to assist. Prices can be quite high at this location (although they are quite high at the other 2 large, local grocery chains on the plateau as well...maybe it's a geographic thing?) I stopped by Metropolitan Market Kirkland earlier today and I bought roses and a vase and was told by the florist (at that location) she isn't being paid commission so she could not place the roses in the vase. I ended up going next door and buying water and arranging the roses inside my car so I could take them to my grandmother. On my way home I stopped by the Sammamish location to get a few items I forgot at the Kirkland location and got some more roses and a vase and the florist at this location not only asked me if I'd like the roses in the vase but asked me kindly without hesitation Thank you floral department for having florists there that take the time to ask the smallest questions to see if the customer would like something done especially with Mother's Day being tomorrow In this case I did not need the roses placed in the vase. Love this place! I did go to the Kirkland or Tacoma Met Markets when I was in those areas, but I excited that this has opened on the Eastside. Delicious fresh soups, lots of choices maybe 8-10. The deli has all kinds of great items. Too many to list. I recommend the pot pies, mac & cheese and shepards pie.Hot foods, pizzas, sushi.....All kinds of sauces, salsas, guacamole and dips. Lots of salads too! The meat department has ready prepared dinners that are hormone and antibiotic free - take home and cook. Bakery is great! Cakes, cookies, pastries, pies. Grand central breads! There is something for everyone for sure. The floral department is ridiculous! Large assortment of beautiful flowers, plants and ready-to-go arrangements. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. How does one properly rate a grocery store? Selection is no different than most full sized grocery stores - fresh produce and well displayed. All your departments of breads, wines, meats, cheese, snacks etc - Met Market even has hot foods, cold food buffet, premade meals ready to go etc. What would set them apart is their famous The Cookie - which in my initial visit I was less than impressed, that was until I had a fresh baked one and it is a game changer. Pricing is above par but you can see the difference in facility and quality. I haven't had any issues with staff (as mentioned in other reviews) and I've always found things I've needed here. It's a bit further out of the way compared to other options for me so I only come by here when I specifically want The Cookie - if you don't know why I've mentioned this twice, you really need to go and find out yourself. ;) read more

If there ever was a destination supermarket, Metropolitan Market would be it, especially this Sammamish location. One of the newest locations of the bunch, the experience here is dynamite. Product presentation and assortment is beyond anything I've seen here, and each time I go into produce, I'm tempted to buy all the leafy greens. It takes my Husband some jerking of the arms to bring me back to earth so I'm not heart emoji-eyed. :) We come here for some of their spices, as we've found some others (even Whole Foods) don't carry them. We've been lucky enough to find Thai birds eye chilis as well as some middle eastern spices surprisingly. A lot of the time, we just come here to take a stroll after eating a full meal nearby. Of course, can't leave without The Cookie which even if you're not a cookie fan, you MUST try at least once. It's to die for, and one of the best cookies I've ever had. One time, we bought 10 and took them with us on an out-of-state trip, and all our friends and family wished they lived in Washington. That's how good it is. Service is pretty good overall, though I've had some unfriendly experiences before. That doesn't deter me from coming here and enjoying my time and picking up some goodies as well as kitchen supplies. Check out their kitchen shop in the back of the market if you're looking for some well-curated items for your meal. Overall, I'll continue to come back here and drool over their produce. A win for Sammamish! I'm a fan of Metropolitan Market and usually visit the Kirkland location since its closest to me, but decided to check out this newer store while I was in the area. Located in a new two-story building, there are two levels to the parking lot. For the upper parking lot, it's shared with other businesses in the building/plaza, but there's an elevator that's right outside the lot. Plenty of parking on the lower level, too. Store is suppper clean and bright. You just get the welcoming feeling when you step inside. I came in the middle of the day, so the place wasn't busy. In addition to all the staples, there's a hot food bar worth checking out and a bakery with pastries and treats you can easily take to-go. I also liked that they had a poke bar here, and the fish looked fresh! I'd say Met Market is a mix between Whole Foods and QFC, offering plenty of organic and sustainable options, but has bigger brand name items. There's also an upper dining area in the store that I saw a lot of people spending time at, whether it was eating or working on their laptops. It's a much-needed business in the "downtown" Sammamish area, so am glad Met Market is here for whenever I'm in the area. read more
