Went to Safeway today (Saturday) around 1pm. The store was busy with long waits for checkout. Of all the checkout stands there was only one person assigned to checkout aisles. I don't mind using self checkout but when I have $300 worth of groceries self checkout is not my preferred method. I just felt like I assume most people probably shop on weekends and to have only one person working was strange. Fortunately staff are friendly and helpful so I would assume they work hard and management doesn't want to pay to have others on the floor. read more

Safeway's "deals for you" are a joke. The app doesn't work even when scanning a barcode through the app at the store. Even after telling the checkout person the issue the "deal" was not honored. Safeway is effectively using false and misleading advertising. read more

Had to pickup some milk, eggs, and veggies. This Safeway has plenty of accessible parking near both entrances. Plenty of fresh veggies and fruits. They also stock some lactose free products. With the raising costs of groceries, household good, and other necessities, I highly recommend uploading the Safeway app and check on their sales and clip necessary coupons. read more

I've shopped at this store for decades and am extremely offended by the horrible music being played at high volume and screaming commercials that they constantly play. I'm not a captive audience to be assaulted by this terrible grocery store every time I shop here. Imagine how much money I've spent here feeding my family for decades. There doesn't seem to be any way to email the store manager and my complaints at their customer "service" desk have had no effect. It's an unbearable shopping experience. The second I walk into this store I immediately want to be out of there. Grew up next to this Safeway and I've never been let down. They have the freshest organic produce around. Just look at those radishes! They tasted great just cut in half and a pinch of salt and they're ready to enjoy. Love shopping here and also they have the GTs lemon berry kombucha stocked (some don't) so that's an added plus as well. read more

I was here twice this holiday weekend and I was so happy this Safeway was open. I was mostly in for the Starbucks, but also walked through the store to find vegan eggnog. Although they did not have what I was looking for, the store was very clean and seemed well stocked. I ended up picking up some ice and scored a great deal! read more

The Safeway is just like most other Safeways. I guess. It's pretty big and has all the usual things. My main experience, however, was with the deli area. That sales person in the Chinese food section was way too good. She was super nice and did a good job convincing me to get some combo special. When it came down to eating it, however, I was.... not so happy. I think I also had a small stomach ache afterward as well. Boo. Don't let the nice old ladies (or whoever else is working) reel you in! That deli section Chinese is usually something that should be skipped. Stopped in today- normally I'd give this store a solid 3. However- the cashier today (the only one working on a register at 9:45 am) was rude to my son. I can roll my eyes and move on if someone is rude to me/ whatever. But I get super angry when it's to a 6 year old. He was not expecting to leave a freaking grocery store feeling 2 inches tall. When you deal with the public- it's kind of in your job description to be pleasant to paying customers. I hope the manager sees this and reminds the staff how to appropriately speak to both adults and children. read more

I grew up in walking distance of this store and have frequented it off and on for three decades. It's one of the larger Safeway locations we shop at. Service has always been friendly. Let me start off by saying this review just pertains to their bakery and not this particular store as a whole. I am literally so frustrated after this experience, I will not be using their baking service ever again. After a really difficult conversation on the phone, (literally asked so many questions, practically needed the exact circumference of the cake) and then not being able to do anything I asked for (like rainbow writing, I'm no baker but how hard can that be) they handed me this... the name was correctly spelled on the order form so I'm not sure if this mistake was out of spite, laziness or ignorance, but needless to say my boyfriends name is not PAKER. When I called them to complain, she asked me if I was still there (which no my sister picked up, and if I was there why would I be calling) because they could've fixed it or given a discount... I'm not sure when it was made but I'm wondering how long a cake can sit and wait like that without someone noticing or caring enough to fix the error... it should've been fixed and discounted! I'm not sure what's going on in that bakery, there's obviously something going on in there, but do not trust them with your orders! I'm sure they will botch them! Luckily we have a good sense of humor so we will just be able to laugh about it with the birthday boy but I am still irritated and trying to prevent anyone from buying one of their messed up cakes in the future. To any Doordashers out there, do not shop or accept orders with this location. On mothers day I accepted an order to pick up some flowers from this location and the lady who worked there accused me of being a scammer. She proceeded to go on a rant for 5 minutes about how I was a scammer and how they keep getting people like us wanting to do a pick-up. She said they were instructed by higher management that anybody that says they are with Doordash was a scammer and not to do business with them. First off, if you keep getting different people coming to your store for flower pickups claiming to be with a service you work within an official capacity, then maybe there is an issue with the ordering system. To think that a bunch of unconnected people are trying to scam you the exact same way is really moronic. Secondly, DON'T YOU DARE EVER ACCUSE -ANYBODY- OF BEING A SCAMMER. Seriously, I was just trying to do my job and you treated me like a pile of trash. This is one of the most unprofessional things a company can do. It should be very alarming too that this is a memo coming from higher-ups. Lastly, it was not just the one lady. This is the closest large grocery store to my new digs (1 mile or so). An improvement over my last house where the closest anything was a good 5 miles at least. So I love the location. It is easy to get to and easy to park. Plus the same shopping center has an Indian grocery store and a Trader Joe's if I can't find what I want at the Safeway. This store is typical of Safeway. Large, clean, bright. Good choice of produce. Mid-level prices. Decent quality. Wide selection of items covering most tastes including your average vegan/vegetarian/health nut. Which kind of describes me although I'm not strictly vegetarian. I really love the kombucha choices at this store. Much better than the Safeway where I used to live but I think that's more a reflection of the Seattle area. Kombucha is big in California, but seems even more mainstream up here. I still really miss the bulk items and great produce selection of my previous favorite store, Sprouts, but this is a good alternative particularly when you can go to a Trader Joe's (and an Indian market) in the same grocery trip. read more

I have been in the store several times, and people are not wearing masks. One was a cashier. The other day I asked an employee to ask someone to wear a mask and I was ignored. I asked the man at the customer service desk and he told me that they can ask, but not insist that someone wear a mask. Have they hear about the King County mask mandate? I guess not. I'm a big Safeway fan, and I do the lion's share of my family's grocery shopping at Safeways on the eastside. My kid goes to a teen camp across the street from this store, so I often pop in here after dropping her off, on my way to work, to pick up an item or two. I'm usually here super early in the morning when there are few customers around, between 6:30-7:30 am. I love this store but the jury's out on the staff. As in most Safeways (especially the newer stores), the store is clean and large and bright, the shelves are well-stocked, the aisles are wide, there's a great selection of most anything you'd need or want (nice bakery section and floral section, fresh produce), the prices are reasonable and the sales are quite good. I have nothing negative really to say about the actual physical store. The staff, on the other hand... It's really hit or miss here. I'm so used to friendly Safeway employees, asking me if I need help finding anything, or asking me if I found everything ok when at the cash, and how my day is going, and all the little niceties of social intercourse. But this is not usually the case at this particular store. Once in a blue moon I'll get someone ringing me out at the cash who will smile and ask how my morning is going. But usually, 90% of the time I'm here, the cashier lady or guy won't look at me or say a thing to me. Case in point: today I rushed in here, needing only one item. I wandered up and down 4 aisles looking for what I needed. I was obviously "lost" (lol) and 4 or 5 employees who were walking briskly about (going to or from the stockroom, or on some other mission) in the area saw me, yet none asked me what I was looking for or if they could help me find something. Then at the cash, the cashier chatted briefly with the lady in front of me (they apparently knew each other), but not a word to me. Not even "hello" or "Thanks for shopping at Safeway". Nada. Just cold and impersonal. Not the usual exchange I get at the Rose Hill/Kirkland SF or the Bear Creek/Redmond SF or the Overlake SF or ANY other Safeway. Go figure. read more

She intervened when a rude customer snapped at my pregnant wife for "cutting in line" at the restroom. However, the customer was standing nowhere near the lady's room. I've been going to the Sammamish Safeway for twenty years through multiple remodels and many different neighboring stores. Its always been clean, reliable, and affordable. The selection is good. The location and parking is convenient. The employees are nice and approachable. I also shop at Costco, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe's but Safeway has the most neighborly feel of the group. I would like to made the complaint and share my experience what just happened with me yesterday when I shopping Instacart for my customer. My customer was order 10 cases of jar but only have 4 cases available in the store so, I text customer and take all 4 cases and go for check out but before I load to my car, I was found out that one jar in one case was broken so, I went in for do the refund not the exchange because they don't have available for exchange. I went in and talk to store supervisor (big tall American guy) but he said, he can't made return because of I work for Instacart and he don't have systems to do.! So, I asked him, why Costco and Metropolitan market can do it because I used to refund and add couple item for my customer. So, the store manager (small Asian guy) hear what I discuss with another guy and he just speak out that, we are different systems here.! So, we cannot do it.! You have 2 choice was... 1st. Keep it or call Instacart. So, I was don't understand why..???? They can't do it.!!? But this is not the first time.!!! The manager here at this store are not friendly and I feel that... he not there to help customers. That how I feel.! But the another staffs was nice but not those 2 guys. read more
