Occasionally I like to stop in and see what's new. Today I was looking for Korean gimbap in their frozen section, and the new holiday foaming hand soap. But no luck, they were out of both. Also scanned some items I haven't seen before in the frozen section like honey walnut shrimp, mushroom risotto (they were also out of stock). I put this on my list to try. So what did I end up buying? Frozen beef tamales, and chicken tamales and a cantaloupe! Would definitely recommend this grocery store they have a lot of decent Asian frozen foods to try. I have no issue with the store itself nor the pleasant helpful staff. That gets five stars! Unfortunately, tonight's TJ-acquired meal wiped out three of them. I grabbed a meat Pizza Parlanno and Caesar salad pack, expecting to have a simple but tasty meal. At one point I asked my wife, "My God, do you think I have Covid? I can't taste a thing!" I may or may not have a Trader Joe's bag addiction, but who doesn't! Ok enough of that, TJ's is a terrific place to explore different types of cuisine and they make it so easy for you. I can say most any TJ's meal either ready made or I've made with their ingredients have all been amazing. When you arrive they greet you with beautiful flowers you can purchase in either bouquets or they some how lure you in with separate florals that make you think you too can become a master florist! Once you've made it past the flowers you didn't know you needed, you've arrived at the produce section and ready made snacks or meals! You can't go wrong here, then you may have tried all the ready meals so you've made it to the next section, the I'm going to make something myself, choose from proteins, salads and the rest is just fun. Walking the aisles and finding new fun snacks or sides! Don't forget they also have an amazing wine section that's pretty reasonable! And it's a charcuterie makers dream!! My favorite trader Joe between Bellevue, Redmond, and Issaquah. Not the biggest but parking is easy also has 2 free charging stations plus walking distance to the new Sammamish tesla superchargers. I have probably been to this trader Joe at least 50 times and have never had a bad experience. All standard trader Joe items, fresh fruits, vegi, and meats. Always clean and well organized. Glad to have a Trader Joes close to home. On the smaller side compared to other Trader Joes stores, but I almost always find the things I typically consume. Veggies are always fresh, so is the dairy. Can always find avocados to consume on the same/next day. The aisles are spacious and it doesn't get too crazy crowded here except for some peak hours/days. Minus one star for how they block an entire aisle for restocking shelves. Like why do three employees with three separate carts be stocking the same aisle and completely block it for 5-10 minutes. They have kiddie carts and stickers which makes the kids always look forward to Trader Joes. The checkout counter service staff is mostly friendly, like nine out of ten times. read more

So many choices of Trader Joe's, close to home. The Sammamish one, seems to be a little easier parking, but I'm still learning. Just like other TJ's this one has a great selection of produce at good prices, not quite as diverse as other bigger grocery stores, but can't beat their prices. Always good quality meats, as well. Their salmon is always fresh and well packed. Their breakfast chicken sausage is always a favorite. A great selection of frozen foods too! The steel cut oats or the açaí bowl make for quick breakfast choices, as well as their Greek yogurt, just add a little muesli and hemp hearts for some added protein. Great frozen entrees for dinner as well. This store is easy to get around, the aisles are spaced well. Although a little smaller area than most, some good beer and wine choices. Long time Trader Joe shopper but fairly new to this location. Multiple locations in five different states so I am comparing this location to the standard set by other sites. As I've shopped this chain for years- I'm familiar with the products. Lots of positives and cool products. Yuzu sauce - yum. Fantastic pricing on some seasoning IMO JoJos are superior to Oreos. I tend to hit this location up if I want to pick up spirits because Issaquah doesn't sell spirits. So strange!! For example, I'm digging the Spicy Lemonade and appreciate single bottle options on beers and ciders. What is off-putting to me about this location is the lack of awareness and customer service by some cashier's. For example- Employees routinely block shelves so customers can't select items. If you're shopping and employees need to access shelf, be prepared to be cut off without a word. Social distancing isnot in practice let alone basic manners. Line is three deep and cashier closes her cashier and walks away without a word to customers in her line. We're all stunned. No acknowledgement at all. Thought I was in Walmart for a moment. Three employees are chatting and finally another line opens and a gal says I can help you over here. Line shifts. Now the line isn't moving because customer appears to have questions or something. Definitely not the cashier's issue. As we're all waiting, a couple of employees walk through our line and eventually open up. The new cashiers don't take customers already in line. I do hope that this is a reflection of rapid hiring and that with training that customer service will improve. read more

usually I get excellent customer service at this Trader Joe's location and I am a regular customer purchasing groceries there several times or more a week. On Tuesday the clerk was a women who I see quite often. She was rude because my bags were under some of my groceries and then proceeded to Basically throw my Groceries into the bags. It is a good idea to treat customers well. It only takes one poor bout of bad treatment and a customer is lost. I will try this store again but choose to go into someone elsewhere line. read more

I'd like to upgrade my previous review (as I had some ongoing challenges with rotten produce on shelves last Summer). As of today, this Trader Joe's location COMPLETELY redeemed itself. These are crisis times, people are on edge, produce is flying of shelves in fear of virus. This location is pristine. Shelves are spotless, neatly stocked, items are easy to access, everything is organized. Staff is exceptionally friendly, courteous and helpful. I'm upgrading to 4 stars because this is where we now shop most of the time. I have been to many TJs over the years and this is the least crowded one, which makes shopping so much more pleasant. Most TJs are so crowded they turned into Costco experiences, something to be avoided until you absolutely have to go. TJs isn't a great place to buy produce. From this one, I have had a couple of times when I've bought the bagged fruit and found them to be sub par (badly bruised and molding). Lately, though the quality issues have vastly improved. The bagged fruit is a great deal, but now I very carefully inspect them and haven't had the issues I've had in the past. Everything else we buy here we've had no quality issues with. Granted, we generally don't buy a lot of the pre-packaged pre-made items. We buy a lot of frozen and canned goods. But we do buy eggs and dairy items, cheese, and pre-washed vegetables etc. Again, I'm careful with the packaged stuff I buy and haven't had issues. Other great deals here are their chicken legs (my kids love them) and their wine. During the holidays, they have so many treat and gift items available, it's a huge test of will not to buy what I see. I have a big sweet tooth. Always great and friendly service. TJ employees are always so consistently friendly. read more

Rotten produce alert. We moved to the area at the start of the year, and were excited to discover there was a Trader Joe's nearby. Unfortunately, multiple times I've been to the store this summer, there was significant rot in many of the fig clamshells. My wife pointed this out to an employee, and they acknowledged the issue before putting them right back on display. She had a similar problem shopping for cherry tomatoes as well. I work in Interlake, and so I often go to the Trader Joe's up in Ballard. They have none of these problems, so I don't know why the quality is so much poorer in their Sammamish store. Hopefully this gets fixed, based on other reviews this has been a problem for other people as well. read more

LOVE TJs! Good selection of products, fresh produce and that little 'tasters choice' bar in the back with something new to taste before purchasing is always Fun! I almost always see moms bringing their kids to the 'bar', allowing the little rascals to opt for either a cookie or candy pop, whenever I'm sampling a new coffee back there. Their bananas are always the most inexpensive on the Plateau... just .19 cents! The staff are knowledgeable and helpful! I like that they stick to their 'accept products back with no questions asked' policy; they have never 'put me on the spot' for a return. No drawbacks! This TJs mow has a BIG Card selection! Service is much better here than the other organic supermarket up the road. But you need to check expiration dates and some labels are hard to read. I bought a juice once, and even I could not read the expiration date, I trusted this place. When I got home, it didn't smell very good. They were friendly and gave me a refund, but they told me I should read the label. I showed them that it was not clear. Arghhhh. I still come here because they treat everyone friendly and are welcoming no matter how you look like if I compare this place to that other store up the road. They have a good variety, but the area is small, so there is not enough space to restock the shelves, etc. read more

First, I love Trader Joe's and, in the years I have been shopping at Trader Joe's, I have never had any issues with the people at any of their stores or products. Consistently wonderful. I'm writing a review about the Sammamish store because they have consistently been that much more friendly, accessible, and well stocked. This is not a big store by any means, but they always seem to have what I need (and then some). The real reason why I got out of my way to go to this one (instead of the one closer to my house) is because it is easier to get in and out of the store without any hassles, and the people are so increasingly friendly and helpful. Today I was holding my little toy poodle in and just buying a milk. One guy was so rude and said only service dog can in. Last time I called them they said if you're holding the little dog is ok. Sammamish Trader Joe's is the worse and unfriendly store I ever been to. It was one hour before store close, less customers but stuffs were busy doing replenishment and talking to each other, ignoring and blocking the customers who were still shopping. When I went to check out, no one lining but two stuffs at the first cashier were chatting and let me waited for few mins and continue talking to each other during the check out. Really? Five stars? Come on guys, ignore the hype and objectively review this place. The produce at Trader Joe's, including this store, is typically past its prime. It's not even that cheap either - they tend to charge by the item rather than by weight, and I've found that it's typically more expensive by the item when compared to a traditional grocery store. If I were buying a superior product, that'd be one thing... but that's not the case here. Besides the fruit and vegetables, nearly everything else (including much of the meat) is pre-prepared or packaged food - lots of "ready to eat" types of stuff. It is true that they have a lot of variety in this department, but I don't understand how people adore a store like this when their specialty is frozen and pre-prepared food. Add on top of that a fairly bare-bones shopping experience and customer base that is almost always oblivious to other people in the store... and this is just not a place I want to patronize all that often. Though it might not be as visible from the road, Safeway finally has some competition on the Plateau (QFC is a bit of a hike). The new Trader Joe's is tucked away in the corner right where the old Ace Hardware space used to be. While the space felt a bit crammed and narrow when Ace called it home, the new layout feels much larger (they possibly expanded it - my memory is fuzzy) and has plenty of empty space. I find that most of the Trader Joe's I have been to suffer from a lack of cart space, and you often have to do significant weaving. While that problem has not completely mitigated itself in the new store, it is much better than you might find at other locations. Throw in an especially cheery staff, and grocery shopping isn't quite such a chore anymore. read more

Location: Excellent Price: Excellent Selection: Excellent- A little bit smaller than other Trader Joes, probably because this Trader Joes is a little smaller than most ones Service: Most are excellent- one worker was really rude though Located right in downtown Sammamish, this Trader Joes is in a nice location near Safeway, Petco, etc. and you almost never have to worry about the long lines and crowds here as much compared to other Trader Joes that are more likely to be busy like in Redmond and Bellevue ones. There is a pretty good selection of foods, flowers, and products to look through. Samples are always offered as well and it's always nice to make yourself a small cup of coffee while shopping each time. Most of the workers are friendly and will usually greet you and ask if you need any help. However, there was one worker sweeping near the samples and ran the mop into our feet from behind us while we were getting samples then as we turned around to see what it was, she slammed the mop on the ground and stomped away. There is a good selection of organic fruits and vegetables here. One thing to make sure of is to check the lettuce because about 1/3 of the time, we see lettuce that looks too old and starting to/already went bad. There were also some zucchini that were completely frozen solid and turned bad on the inside. For nuts and seeds, Trader Joes has a great selection and sunflower seeds are great! (99 cents too and can last you quite a while) They also have a great selection of cards for birthdays, celebrations, romance, thank you cards, etc. (for 99 cents as well!) and lots of flowers that are much cheaper than Safeway and most floral suppliers. They have a nice selection of frozen foods. I like to come here for breakfast food- especially their hashed browns and croissants which are a great price and delicious. read more

The long awaited Trader Joe's is here! You can count on the same unique-branded products, the cheap wine and the free coffee and samples. Having Bartells and Safeway so close means that any products that TJ's doesn't carry are probably located 100 yards away (there always seems to be one thing in a large recipe that Trader Joe's won't have). You won't find much of a difference with this Trader Joe's from others, although it does feel like there is more free space inside, and the parking the center as a whole is much less of a headache than Redmond or Capitol Hill (poor parking options has been a TJ's staple from my prior experiences). There is also a bit of a local touch with local high school-specific murals along the upper walls. The exterior also looks nice and new (a product of the entire center's remodeling). read more

I normally LOVE Trader Joes - it's my favorite place, however this store has had not 1 but 2 moldy/rotten products - something I've never seen at any other store. A few months ago I bought their hard boiled eggs, in a package - a normal purchase for me & took them out to my car, was starving & bit into one and it was rotten and past the expiration date. I then was in the store this week and bought some pre-packaged and cooked brown rice and found an entire package half way moldy. Of course both times the TJ's employees were apologetic and helpful, but honestly this is the slowest/un-busy TJ's I've been to - one would imagine that they would have plenty of time to check for expired food... Again, I love this company, however the Sammamish Store needs to step this up - I'm worried what I will buy or eat next that they've missed and has mold or a rotten taste. read more

I had a bad experience today. Today I went to traders joe around 8pm, rushed in bought 3 apples ($0.79 ea) , a bag of pears (marked $2.69) and a cereal box ($2.99) with my daughter. I finished paying for them and about to leave when I decided to glance at the receipt. There was a charge for $4.99 plus tax. I normally dont even bother looking but was surprised about that and asked the checkout clerk what it was about. He admitted something wrong has happened and proceeded to refund me ($4.99 plus tax) and charge me the right amount ($2.69). I expressed my dissatisfaction and asked them if they could refund me the incorrect amount and not charge me for the pears, in effect giving it to me for free for the inconvenience caused. The clerk refused and so did the manager. They thought it was strange that I was even suggesting they throw in the pears for free at which point I explained that I may have gotten cheated if I hadnt looked at the receipt. So my expectation is that the store ought to make up for the faux paus by a customer friendly gesture of negating the transaction and throwing it for free. If I recollect, many grocery chains do this. The clerk interjected and said that I was cheating the store by asking them to give me the bag of pears for free, in presence of the manager who didnt even bother to correct him. She was just dismissive. I didnt want to negotiate any further so I told the manager she can go ahead and charge me for the pears and that I was going to escalate. Once I used that word, she proceeded to refund me the $4.99 but also didnt charge me for the bag of pears. I insisted on paying for the bag of pears as I wasnt interested in the freebie if given dismissively. She said she wanted to "end the conversation" which is why she didnt charge me for the pears. I inisisted on paying for the bag of pears at this point as she just didnt seem to get it. Store manager walked away abruptly, so the clerk proceeded to charge me separately for the pears. I think if a store makes a mistake and charges you an incorrect amount (Eg: $5.40 instead of $2.67) they ought to say "oops" and completely negate that transaction. I understand to err is human. But they were too dismissive about it. "Like to err is human, so what. We are giving you a refund so deal with it." Also, once I used the word "Escalate" it seemed to push them to making that decision toward what I was asking but without much regret for having tried to over charged me. Anyway, I would be cautious shopping at this store and look at the receipt to make sure they arent over charging. I had shopped many times and didnt bother looking at the receipt carefully until today. I have learnt my lesson. Also, dont shop there at closing time. Tiredness and fatigue may have something to do with their dismissive attitude. I want to add one thing, I have shopped here dozens of times atleast three times a week since they opened shop and never had any issue. I generally like their products, except when they sold me rotten pomegrenates (an exception that happened once) I was generally happy. My bad experience today was completely unexpected. But it has opened my eyes to consider shopping at Safeway and QFC on the other end of the street. read more

I love Trader Joe's!! There's now another one close to my house. I prefer going to this location versus the Issaquah location because 1. parking is easier to get in & out, and 2. you don't have to bring your reusable grocery bags, like you do at the Issaquah location since Issaquah banned plastic bags. They have a good selection of products. I'm a big fan of their lemonades & iced tea/lemonades and always stock up on that. They also have a really good selection of frozen microwavable dinners and they're all yummy-some of my favorites are the Butter chicken, enchiladas/burritos, and the pizzas. I also really like their tortilla nacho cheese chips and they have a huge chip selection. I've also gotten their spinach and bakery items. The staff are really nice & helpful. Also, in the back, they have samples of products. They also have mini shopping carts-my little cousins love coming here with me and pushing the mini carts around, haha. read more

I love shopping here! The store can get pretty crowded on the weekends and late afternoons so I tend to shop during the slower times.
