She's patient and helpful in helping you choose a frame and explains the benefits depending on your prescription. I have high astigmatism so, she knew exactly what would work best in my case. I explained to her I wanted an animal print and she gave me several designer glasses to choose from. All that she had pulled were great quality and well made. Yes, your prescription does take about 7 to 10 business day. Remember, it's about quality. Your having to wear them and they have to inspected prior to the patient receiving them. I will never recommend or come back to this place again. I had visited this place about a year ago for eye exam and frames based on a friends recommendation. I had a great experience the first time. I came back a year later since I was only eligible for lenses and exam. Thinking I would have the same experience I returned . It has been almost 2 months since my visit. I yet to receive my lenses. I have been going back and forth with Elsa-point of contact-. She said she is great about calling about updates. I called after 2 weeks and she said the lenses were not ready. That she would call me once they arrived. Weeks went by. No call. Oh by the way they have another assistant there and she is rude. She needs some tips on customer service. I called Elsa back about 1 month ago and said it was my VSP insurance and the lab. Well turns out I called my insurance today and said the office submitted back on 07/08. That means that sat on it. Someone dropped the ball. She stated it was the lab. The office made me feel like a burden. read more

Overall, I walked out of the door without knowing my prescription. Please be aware that they don't offer receipt or any paperwork after eye exam and purchased of eyeglass. After my eye exam with Dr. Shirley Hong, I purchased myself a pair of eyeglass that will be covered by my vision insurance. Before the eye exam, I asked the manager at the counter to see if they accept my vision insurance provider. She told me that my insurance will cover me a pair of glass and the eye exam, but I have to pay out-of-pocket for the lens anti-reflection add on the the glass, which costed me around $80. When I asked for a receipt after I paid $80 out-of-pocket in addition to my insurance. The manager insisted that she will give me the receipt when I come pick up the glass. She said that all I need is to wait for her phone call when the glass is ready to pick up. After a few weeks, I went there to pick up my glass. She still did not give me my receipt or paperwork of my eye prescription. I will never come back again. It could happen to anyone. This mean that everybody could just go there and pick up my glass without a receipt or proof of purchase. read more

This is super cute and convenient place located right off the freeway. My appointment was super last minute but thanks to Gina for getting me in when I so desperately needed it also her amazing customer service was amazing and she was knowledgeable about contacts and frames. I also had an incredible experience with Dr. Chang she explained everything to me and made getting my eyes checked a quick and easy process and answered the many questions I had before and after my appointment. My son's glasses was broken again. Elsa told me that the warranty is able to cover another time. She told me to wait for their call when the new glasses are ready. But the thing is 2 weeks passed and nothing yet. Don't know if it is Ray-Ban too slow to fix the glasses or do they still remember that they need to call me to notify with any update of status. She will go out of her way to find you the best pair of glasses that suits your face shape. If they have your glasses in-house with the prescription, they will make them then and there. As a medical professional, my staff would be FIRED if every patient was treated the way I was here, especially with Elsa who is supposedly the manager! After lunch with one of my friends 3 weeks ago, she recommended this place since she saw my sunglasses sitting a bit crooked on me, plus I wanted new contacts anyway. When I walked in, Elsa was on the phone, another person was helping another customer, and the lady at the counter was just staring at the computer, so nobody even offered to help me when I was browsing around for 45 seconds, until an important call from my mom (in Vietnamese) came in, but while I was approaching the counter on the right to check price on a set of Ray-Bans and if my insurance covers it, I put my phone on hold and approached Elsa (who was not on the phone anymore), but she started pointing towards the other counter to a girl that barely spoke English. I asked her if they take VBA Insurance, then she looked at a list on the wall and said "Elsa can help you, I don't know." YOU DON'T KNOW?? That should be something every staff member SHOULD know! Then, when I start walking back, her cell phone rings (Not even my clinic's owner uses her cell phone, I was surprised that they get this kind of freedom) and she snaps to it to pick it up, but she sees the set of glasses in hand and points back to the other desk, whispering "they can look that up." Did I become a ping-pong ball all of a sudden??? Then after I go back to browsing, waiting and hearing her gawking on about a patient's personal life over the phone (it was alternating between setting an appointment and something about her child's school), but since I had to tend to my mom, I grabbed a business card and left. I was almost going to try to come back when I was in town the next day, but I decided it wasn't worth the headache. When I saw that the business card said "Office Manager", I thought it was a joke. Not only is this the most professional and personable optometrist I've ever been to, it's one of the best run businesses I've stepped foot in. I'm only giving this place 1 star and that's for the really great experience with Dr. Shirley Hong. She was really friendly and knowledgeable and was a pleasure working with---everyone else? not so much. After I met with the doc on Saturday, I needed to order new hard contacts and she said they couldn't order til Monday but should be in Wed/Thurs. By Friday I hadn't heard anything so I called and they said it wasn't ready--try early next week. I called the following Tuesday---still NOT READY. I'm not sure why it took so long--it should've only taken 2-3 business days instead it took 7-8 business days. Quite a wait for something that is essential for someone who has poor eye sight. Then when I finally got the call that they were ready--I tried to make an appointment with the doctor to make sure my hard lens were fitted correctly however the girl at the front desk seemed to not know whether I'd be able to see a doctor or not. I also asked her what my final balance would be and she didn't seem to know for certain either--she seemed iffy. Finally I made the appointment to have my contact lens fitted and also have my eyes dialated. I'm supposed to have this appointment tomorrow, and NOW they call me to tell me that they don't have dialation drops and if they don't get any by tomorrow then i can't get my eyes dialated. Normally I wouldn't care whether my eyes were dialated or not, but Dr. Hong said I should because of my high prescription. Im not sure how things work there---but I made this follow up appt 10 days ago they should've been more prepared. Now I have no idea if I'll be getting my eyes dialated or not which wastes not only my time, but my mother's as well, as you cannot drive after your eyes are dialated so you need to bring someone with you. Thought I'd give this place a shot. Never come back. read more

This place is awesome!!! The doctor is excellent!! My prescription glasses and sunglasses have made it fun for me to drive again, now that I can see! I must give a special shout out to Elsa Arellanes for walking me through step by step to pick out the perfect specs for me. She is highly knowledgeable in every aspect of this business.
