I have worked with Suzanne and Holly and cannot recommend their services enough. Not only are they professional but they are so comforting and are relatable to my personal life. I feel like I could be good friends with both women. They both have great bedside manners and the clinic has a spa-like atmosphere. I hate leaving after each treatment. My only frustration was at the end of the appointment when I had to pay. I go through Cherry for payment options and the system was down. I only have a debit card and no other credit card so had to go to the bank to get cash to pay. They did put a note on my chart about checking the day of my appointments to make sure Cherry is up and running so hopefully that snag will not happen again. read more

used to love coming to this place but something has happened during the last two years. Not only has there been great turnover of very good employees but the practices have changed regarding schedule changes. You used to be able to text or email but now required to call in. In this day and age all options should be available. In addition they automatically charge you $100 to reschedule. I've driven over 100 miles to go to them because of the services they used to provide. Unfortunately there was not even a save attempt keep me as a customer. The loss will be some other businesses gain. I've spent a great deal of money with them and thought we had a good partnership but at the end of the day it comes down to the dollar that will break the business in the long run. read more

I've never received service like how I was treated at the Metropolitan. Based off of viewing the website I knew it was going to be much more classy experience just through what I could see in photographs. When I arrived I was provided a tour of the facilities, though I was just there for a haircut it was very interesting to see all that they offer. The ambiance is very comfortable, so comfortable I would stay all day if possible. Julia my hairstylist was a very sweet lady, I didn't give her much direction for what I wanted done but she was able to use her expertise to determine what I needed done and did it flawlessly. She seemed to be a Perfect fit to the environment the Metropolitan offers. I honestly only chose this place for the 50% off first hair cut promotion with the intent of only going once. However, this has been the greatest experience I have had and I fully intend to return for as long as I live in this area. read more

I needed a quick chair massage over my lunch break and I didn't want the hassle of going to the mall. I was able to book a same day appointment. The staff was extremely friendly. I was given a quick tour before my service and introduced to various staff members. After my 15 minute chair massage, she asked if i would like to continue. I would have stayed there all day, but sadly I had to get back to work. I booked a second appointment for 2 weeks out. When I checked out, I was given a new client folder with coupons for future services. I even received a thank you note in the mail! These little touches really make them stand out. I had Botox over a year ago from Suzanne. A week later I couldn't even tell I had it done. I called the office and Suzanne told me to send pics. I did and the response was that it takes awhile. I never heard back. The reason for the late review is that I just had Botox recently from Skin Artisans at Edina Plastic Surgery and WOW! Now I know what Botox should look like. Fabulous. 2 of my friends that go to Metropolitan also said not happy with the Botox. So, people, it really is all about the training and knowledge of how to do the injections. Is it possible to give this place 10 out of 5 stars? Yes, it's just that amazing. You walk in and it is absolutely gorgeous, the workers are friendly and management is even better. Jill, the project manager, always has a smile on her face and really cares about your needs and wants. She makes sure that everything is put into place for your visit. Be sure to talk to her when planning an appointment, she always has you leaving with a huge smile on your face. Obviously I've been going here for a while because I know the team by name, and each worker is fabulous. There are so many different services they offer, it is absolutely amazing. As an ER nurse, please follow the pre- and post-op instructions. Be honest with the medications you take and your health problems. Also, the key for you to get good skin care results is to also get an annual checkup so that you know you are not pre-diabetic or have an auto-immune disease. Having one of those conditions may be doing more damage to your skin if you get a laser treatment. I just had my first VenusViva treatment with prp. Holly did my treatment and she is a very experienced and knowledgable technician. She also thoroughly reviewed my paperwork asked my questions about the types of treatments I have had in the past. This shows that she is curious and has a vested interest in her client's skin care goals. I felt valued as a client and I am so glad that I chose to buy a package of the treatments. I also like that the owner offers the venus viva at a discounted price once you purchase the package of 3. The people working at the front desk are friendly and amazing as well. I like the Venus Viva because my skin was not burning for 2 days afterward like when I have had other fractional laser treatments. I wanted to find a laser treatment that provides the same results but with less burning and less downtime. I think I can find that with this laser. I have had 3 Fraxel Dual treatments and 4 pixel treatments. I did have good results with those treatments in my 40's. The Fraxel Dual did help fade my melasma caused by oral contraceptives. But, here is my concern. Those treatments were so hot, that I question if some my facial fat was slowly melted away from the heat of those lasers. I am thin, but always had "chubby cheeks," as my grandmother would say. I know one looses facial fat with aging, but I question if those lasers reduced some of my fat in my face. I have been to many med spas and this one is a very great spa. read more

I was excited to treat a mark ive had for years on my nose, promised a one time laser maintenance treatment I would have instant results with my mark completely gone . Holly failed to warn me that I would have a big scab that would take a week or two to disappear, followed by a bruise which Holly insists will fade away with a cream they provided(3 weeks later it's still there). Not once did she warn me that there will be a gigantic scab or bruising . I had a wedding the following weekend, all she said was it would be instant results. When i noticed the laser treatments results were concerning (a few hours of dark blue than turning red) I called Metropolitan with my obvious concerns . It took 3 phone calls to them for me to finally get a response. Holly offered me daily check ins on how my nose was healing but I obviously lost trust on her experience . Before the treatment her background was very impressive, I assume that she has none to little experience with treating ethnic skin, or overall her laser treatment is very poor. Definitely do not recommend this place especially if you are a person of color. read more

I started going to The Metropolitan in October 2011 when I started painless laser hair removal with Amy. It's not a joke, people, it really is painless and it works. Amy is so friendly and good at what she does. Everyone I have encountered at The Metropolitan is the same. I also see Amy for facial treatments to help my acne. She is very good at explaining what she is doing, what products she is using, what I can do at home to help, and what my treatment plans should look like without being pushy. The Metropolitan does sell skincare products and make up. I've tried the skin care products and liked them, but they are very expensive. There are products that I use that cost 1/4 of the price and work well, though, so I don't buy the skincare products at The Metropolitan. They are great though, so if cost isn't a worry to you, definitely try them out. I especially love the pineapple exfoliate -- smells lovely and made the skin on my face SO soft! read more

Tiffany gives the best facials I have EVER had!!! She incorporates pure relaxation and good skill to keep my skin looking great. I have acne and acne scarring and she has helped me through this with many different non-invasive chemical peels and mirco-dermabrasion. The first time I visited the Metropolitan, I was late for my appointment, but nobody was snooty like at other salons, they simply thanked me for calling to let them know and then we had my appointment. It was my first massage ever and they gave me Holly who was super nice and put me at ease because I was feeling very awkward. I told her about my physically demanding job and my trouble areas and she recommended doing deep tissue, which was amazing. I left feeling better than I had in years. the second time they gave me Levi, who is also amazing. It is a beautiful salon with very professional staff. I started going to the Metropolitan about 6 years ago to get my eyebrows done (permanent cosmetics). Suzanne was awesome and she did a great job, however the pigment that they used never stuck. Suzanne tried her hardest to get it to stay, but nobody really had an explanation as to why it wouldnt work on me. Every few years I have tried again and again to get them done (probably spent thousands of dollars doing do) and each time they fade. I recently had them done again by Arielle and while she was not as friendly and assuring as Suzanne, she did a good job. But again, they faded right away. I have been told several different reasons as to why mine fade. First it was because I was so young, then it was because of my facial products, then it was just my skin type, then it was because I had scar tissue from plucking, and so on. I never got a real answer and I don't think they really know either. I know quite a few people who have gone to the Metropolitan for their brows and have the same issue. Metro claims "they are supposed to fade and then bloom back to their color and stay for 2 years". This has not been true for anyone I know that has gotten them done there. Everyone seems to fade right away and the hair stroke do not magically come back like they say they do. I have booked an appointment at another salon in the area and they have never had issues with people fading, so I'm wondering if it matters on the brand. All in all, I wouldn't waste the money on the permanent cosmetics as they will probably fade right away and no one seems to know the reason behind this. read more

I was in a auto accident and was refered to Dr. James at the Metropolitan. Dr. James was able to see me immediately and has me on the right track towards recovery. Dr. James has a great understanding of how the body works and takes the time to explain to me what is going on. Dr James make you feel like than just a patient, he make you feel like family. I have been receiving deep tissue massages from Holly and she is the best! She not only knows her stuff, but she really puts you at ease with a great personality. The staff is great and always has a smile on their face when you walk in the door. The staff know you by name and always offer's you a bottle of water or to take your coat.
