Don't expect clear communication about the pricing. Instead of being told what I was going to pay, I was asked twice if I had read the website. The website includes photos, and four tabs. One of the tabs is services and that does include pricing. The fault is mine for not reading more carefully. That being said, the person doing my service literally never said a number. If you are willing to charge that much, you should be willing to say it out loud to your client. I was told I had to submit a deposit for half of my appointment. When I looked back, I only had to submit a deposit of $89 which was half of my $178 for partial highlights. This didn't help me to realize I'd be charged an extra $550 for my haircut. It was a cruel shock to leave with my hair looking nice to realize my total for the day was $728. Again, the fault is mine for not reading all of the website more carefully, but I hope no one else has to have this cruel shock. This salon is not willing to use spoken words to convey their fees. You will only get this information from the website. This is a shocking lack of professionalism and courtesy.

When my appointment started, I let the stylist know that I wanted to go back to my natural blonde. I told her my hair history and she assured me I would walk out with my natural blonde color and let me know color started at $85. She tried to get me to add a shampoo, cut, blow dry, and hair style - total was $195 When I asked how the price increased so much she said that my hair naturally had four colors in it so that was an extra charge. Not sure why that would cost extra, because she was doing an all over color anyway and wasn't doing anything with my natural highlights. She then said the shampoo, cut, blow dry and style was an extra $56. I told her to drop that and I'll get it cut elsewhere for less money. She then began slapping the color on my hair and I mean slapping. She was not gentle and was yanking on my hair as color was going everywhere. I wiped it off my ear, forehead, and neck several times. She then had me sit in another chair to process while she did a men's cut. No biggie. I have to process anyway. She then moved me to the bowl and rinsed me then went and cut another person's hair as I was laid back in the sink. She came over and shampood then put a treatment on and left me there to cut a third person's hair. I was laid back in the bowl for 30 minutes before she came to shampoo and wash me out. When I finally got back to the chair she kept recommending a haircut and I stated that I couldn't pay $56 for that as the hair color was already significantly higher than quoted. She finally dropped the cost and I agreed to a slight trim. By the time I was done my hair was shorter than I wanted and brown. Definitely would not come back to this location.

So I went to the salon maybe a half a dozen times always for hair color. I had one haircut one…read moretime. Willow was always my stylist. I found her to be fairly knowledgeable about color but she did not really like a aveda color and I think she started trying to sneak other color in my sessions. A couple of occasions I could smell strong ammonia with the hair color and obviously that was not Aveda.. I had come from a horrible previous experience where they just about destroyed my hair so I was tolerant of their services. The front desk manager is rude and was rude from the start. I was always nice and I always tipped about 40% and even more at Christmas time and even gave a gift and I made sure that I went above and beyond to be courteous. The only explanation I can think of is that I am in the LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY. THE LAST COUPLE SESSIONS WERE AWFUL. THE VERY LAST ONE THEY NEARLY RUIN MY HAIR THE COLOR WAS NOT THE SAME COLOR THE COLOR WAS A STRONG REEK OF AMMONIA I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY USED IT CERTAINLY WASN'T AVEDA which is what I paid for and always have for 30 years. I called 15 times after my last appointment to schedule another appointment and to tell them that my color was off and I need a consultation to see what we needed to tweak on the formula because it was more red than usual. I left three messages and no one ever called me back no one ever answered the 15 times I called over a two week period And I know they have caller ID. Everything is subpar in this place and I think people tolerate as much as they can going here because it's in a convenient location near the quarry. So for whoever this review may help this has been my honest experience. There were no prior issues there were no issues between me or anyone else at the salon all I can think of is discrimination it's there's no other option in my mind.

I know it is time for my hair to be relaxed (applying a chemical solution to my hair that…read morestraightens it) when I cannot comb straight through my hair from root to tip or I have excruciating headaches every time I try to comb my hair. Yep...it's time! Walking into the hair salon to get my hair relaxed was like preparing for hair warfare. I came prepared with my phone fully charged (in case I need to abort this hair mission), snacks in my handbag, and fully prepared to sit patiently as the process was activated. My stylist, Naana, took one look at my hair, nodded slowly, and said, "Ok...it's time. Exhale! I told Naana I needed a relaxer. She had previously sent me an emoticon stating, "maybe yes or maybe no." I need my kinks gone...quick, fast and in a hurry! At the point where she said yes, I wanted to do a happy dance. The base and then relaxer had been applied. The big guns were out pointed at my head. No burning...good sign. Then like magic my hair goes from super coily, i.e. kinky to relaxed and straight. Naana rinsed out the relaxer solution and applied conditioner. Then I was off to the dryer for a deep conditioner. Then conditioner was rinsed out, my hair dried and flat ironed. There is nothing like having your hair flat ironed. Sleek. Glossy. Wind ready. I walked out of the salon feeling brand new, like a super model. Ok...maybe not a super model...just a grocery store model. Smile. That confidence lasted two seconds until I walked into Texas humidity. The good news was that the kinks were gone. The bad news was that the curls were back, just not kinky this time. Look forward this process in 8 weeks...Naana is actually an amazing stylist and love get my hair done with her.
