I was in the area, it was getting later in the day and I needed a place to stop and feed the family. I saw the ratings and thought "can't be that bad, let's check it out". I was surprised, wonderfully! Our waiter (Ruben) was friendly, attentive, and everything you could reasonably ask for. You absolutely need him if you go there! The place was very clean, and the menu is exactly what you would expect. Food arrived hot and cooked very well (Yes!). It was absolutely delicious all around. Family from adults to children were very happy with portion sizes and flavor (soo good!). I will be definitely stopping here again in the future. I'm always impressed when a place knocks it out of the park on the first go.

We were there on a Friday afternoon early. There was only one person working the floor the busing the bar, the waitressing he was doing the best he could. The food was less than to be desired, even though it had four star reviews. I was very disappointed. They were very accommodating sent over a complementary entrée. That was a little bit better than what we had ordered, but all in all I would not recommend this.

Visited Mexicali Cantina today and was not disappointed. The bartender Jason mixed me the best tasting cucumber margarita I've ever had. Just stopped for drinks this trip but will be back to try the food on our next visit.

If you like Mexican food, this place is outstanding and atmospheres fabulous. The food came out hard and fresh. The staff was extremely polite and courteous. The level of professionalism definitely sets the bar for other restaurants nearby.

We'll start with the chips. They were the bomb diggity. Thin, crispy, fresh & salty. The salsa was homemade & tasty. I got the X hot & it was good as well. Orders were beef tacos, shrimp tacos, ceviche, & chicken burrito. It wasn't really busy and the service was on the slower side. With margaritas, chips & good company we didn't care. The shrimp was a little dry/tough. Everyone likes their meal.

A tapas bar/ restaurant in downtown historic Frederick. We…read morewent for a Sunday brunch (with a reservation for a 5-top in the window). The waiter was patient and easy going, especially for such a busy time. The food was well seasoned and portions plentiful. The biscuit that came with the combo was a cheese biscuit, however the menu didn't mention the cheese otherwise we would have asked for a plain biscuit (looking forward to having jelly with it, but not so much on a cheese biscuit), but regardless, it was a good biscuit. I look forward to visiting again next time in town, trying their dinner/ tapas.

The décor is colorful and warm, with Spanish-inspired art. On this brisk cold afternoon there was also a cozy brick fireplace in full working mode located in the back of the main dining area that adds to the charm. Our server was excellent--friendly, organized, and very mindful of our need to finish in time for the show. She handled separate checks, kept drinks filled, and made sure everything ran smoothly. The food was the highlight. We ordered full brunch meals, and everyone enjoyed their dishes. The house-made chorizo, flavorful sauces, and Eggs Benedict (with the option of a fresh biscuit instead of an English muffin) were especially good. Overall, we had a great experience. The menu is large, the atmosphere is inviting, and we'd happily return the next time we're in Frederick.

The plantains could have been cooked a little softer for me Gambas al ajillo- Six jumbo shrimp sautéed in olive oil, garlic, white wine, and parsely Deliciously flavorful, however, the salt was heavy handed. Paella valencia- Scallops cooked perfectly, however, I prefer the "coral" of the scallop to be removed as it takes away from the silky texture of the scallop itself. Having said that, it does add flavor to the scallop. It's a texture thing for me. Sometimes it's removed before hitting the US. I had a glass of Albariño. Its citrusy, stone fruit notes, high acidity, and salinity cut through richness, complement seafood flavors, and balance saffron/spice with freshness, making it a classic match for the vibrant, savory dish. Serve it well-chilled to enhance its palate-cleansing effect, creating a refreshing contrast to the hearty rice and ingredients.  Chips were lackluster. Tasted like they were not made in house. Salsa was good though. Portions were good. Ratio of rice to everything else in paella was too much. Rice is cheap. No need to be overwhelming on plate to give the visual experience of being a generous portion, while making a profit. Oh, and I had to ask our server to get another chair because the one I sat in was imbalanced and wobbly, a potential customer disaster. All in all, Cacique's food offerings are very tasty. As an experienced diner, my intention is to provide culinary observations that can help elevate a place of eating, not just for the sake of providing critique.

The service was great, our waitress and fast, kind, and checked in with our group the perfect amount of times. The food was all amazing. They're fairly small portions so you do end up spending quite a bit, but the quality is great! If you want the paella you have to order right when you arrive cause it's 30 mins to 45 mins for them to cook it. Paella Salvaje* 5/5 Grilled octopus 5/5 Spiced Beef Empanadas 3.5/5 (tasted like pasta on the inside no spice lol) hanger steak 5/5 Happy hour trio deal Patatas Bravas 3/5 meatballs 4/5 Chicken Jamón Croquettes 4.5/5 Wines were alright. We ordered the sherry dessert wine which was not a fan fave. The sparkling white wine on the HH was refreshing and pretty good, very dry. Overall, always a good experience. It wasn't too crazy on a Thursday night. The inside ambiance is nicer at night time than day time. I'll have to go back for HH again and order some apps and paella.

I've been wanting to try Barcelona Wine Bar for a little while and am happy I got the opportunity…read moretoo! Barcelona Wine Bar serves a variety of authentic Spanish tapas and plates along with a large wine selection. My mom and I were super excited to dine here as we both love a good tapas meal! The restaurant is in a great area but you do have to pay for parking (they should validate your parking though). The interior is lovely and the ambiance is unique with a rustic-chic vibe. The service was good and our server was attentive. She offered us some guidance on the menu and some recommendations as well. The workers did a great job grabbing finished plates off tables and were super friendly. Some of our food took longer to come out, specifically the charcuterie board. Each table starts with fresh, warm bread and Spanish olive oil. Some tables got balsamic vinegar added to their oil, but we didn't. They do offer refills for the bread as well. For tapas styled dinners it is recommended to order a couple of plates at once for the table to share. We started with the Aperitivo Board which included an Jamón Serrano, Chorizo Soria, Idiazábal, Manchego, Eggplant Caponata, House Marinated Olives, Pickled Guindilla Peppers, and Patatas Brava. This was a huge board with a little bit of everything. Ordering this allows you to try some charcuterie and tapas at once for a great price. The meats were lovely and the Manchego cheeses were bold. Both paired well with the olives too. The eggplant caponata had a slight sweetness to it, which I liked. And the patatas bravas were easily some of the best I've had. The crema atop of them was to die for, these are a must order! Like I stated above, our board took a while to come out. This wasn't a huge deal, but it definitely took longer than it should have and I wish our server had checked in on us during that period. Next, we order the beet salad, albondigas, and the jamón & manchego croquetas. These dishes arrived quicker and all came around the same time. The beet salad consisted of pickled beets with a Skordalia garlic spread on the bottom. The sweetness of the beets complimented the Skordalia nicely. The albondigas included 5 Spiced Meatballs in Jamón-Tomato Sauce. With a little bit of a kick to them, these meatballs were fantastic! The sauce was extremely flavorful and I thoroughly enjoyed these. Lastly, the jamón & manchego croquetas which were served with the same garlic aioli that was atop the patatas bravas. These were rich and really creamy with lots of manchego. The breading was light on the outside and the inside was packed with mostly manchego and some jamón. I didn't like these as much as I thought I would, but they are definitely worth a try. Overall, all the food was amazing and we both really enjoyed our meal. The service was decent and I thought they did a good job taking care of us. They are very friendly and will help you navigate the menu if needed. The interior is such a vibe and I really loved the ambiance. While our charcuterie seemed to take a while to come out, all the other food arrived promptly. Everything is served made to order and arrive hot to your table. The Aperitivo Board is definitely the best bang for your buck. I would 100% order this if you want a little charcuterie and some of the tapas. Could easily be a meal for two people. I would return to try more tapas in the future and recommend if you are in the area! Aperitivo Board - 10/10 Beet Salad - 7/10 Albondigas - 8/10 Jamón & Manchego Croquetas - 7/10
