We went in for lunch on a Friday. There was no host at the front when we arrived, but fine, whatever. A very nice busboy brought us warm chips as soon as we were seated. Then we waited for about 25-35 minutes and a server never came. It was bizarre. I wouldn't recommend it for lunch. read more

Ordered from doordash, the only positive things I can say was that it was quick and we got all our food. The food was gross. My fajitas were basically raw veggies with no seasoning, my daughters french fries were soggy, and there were chunks of chicken in them. You expect a one off, but not like 5. I went here for dinner with my friend on Saturday night. Our waitress was nice and attentive. We ordered the shredded chicken taquito bites that lacked flavor but the queso and salsa were good. The waitress refilled my water and there was something floating in it (see pic attached). It was a hard plastic piece with sharp edges. And then we were done here. Last Wednesday after a long day at work, I came here with my boyfriend and a friend to grab a quick drink and blow off some steam. We showed up at 8:15, 45 minutes before they close. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, we saw there was a young employee that was sitting inside eating and clearly glaring at us. Once we got out of the car, she started signaling to the girl working the front door. She was staring at us and frantically pointing and shaking her head (she was sitting directly in the window so we saw it all). We assumed she was just warning her coworker that people were walking in but the first thing the girl at the front said when we walked in was "we're not doing food anymore". I said that we weren't getting food and we were just there to get one drink and she said "the bar is closed". I assumed the restaurant times listed online were wrong so I asked what time they closed for future reference and she meekly said "9" (again, this was at 8:15) We walked back to our car and the employee that had been eating was still sitting there with a smug smile on her face staring at us. If we walked in right before closing I would understand being turned away. Even if they just turned us away because they didn't have the staff then I wouldn't have thought twice about it but this employee made it clear how she feels about their customers. I get it, she's a young girl who probably doesn't care about her job/the restaurant but at least be more subtle about it? I'm giving 2 stars because every other employee there has always been great (specifically Jessica and a gentlemen who works nights) but this has definitely left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be returning read more

I will never ever ever go to this retaraunt again. My 4 month daughter was sitting on her dads lap and the waitress placed the plate down, on my daughters hand...here's the pic. I've never heard my daughter cry in such excruciating pain...I went to the the car and the manager offered to call an ambulance, yet made sure that my boyfriend payed the check before leaving even though obviously we didn't even eat anything and the waitress didn't even apologize. Ok. Haven't visited in a year or so, but things were not great. A family near us had ordered fajitas that smelled heavenly and sizzling like mad. So the bride ordered steak fajitas and I the steak fajita burrito. Luke warm steak on a cold platter and a burrito that was to be sauced but came with a dry red stain for sauce. My family loves Mexican food. We came here on Cinco de mayo so they were pretty much slammed. The wait was not long. We love the complimentary chips and salsa. Margaritas are outstanding there as well. Most of us ordered the chimichangas and the kids meals are huge and come with beans and rice. Everyone was beyond satisfied. Food was pretty good. I got the steak fajita quesadilla and my friend got the bbq chicken quesadilla. I would give the place 4 stars if the waitress was more attentive to our table. She had more chatting to do that I observed and I had to get her attention a few times and in most instances the requests I had she delegated to others so I wasn't a big fan of her. I've been to this location before and the service was a bit better so I would go back again to be fair and see for one last time. Although the food was great, this review is getting one star because of the HORRIBLE service we experienced today. My co workers and I came for a late lunch/ early dinner today and was served by Morelia. There were a handful of complaints today. For starters, while she served us our drinks I was going to add in an appetizer when she cut me off with her finger in my face telling me to "hold on" and then walked off. Next, my co worker had ordered a fajita quesadilla but instead was brought out a fajita. The server then argued back and forth with her saying that was what she had ordered! She did bring it back but she had much of an attitude. Third, my co worker ordered a passion fruit margarita but instead got a mango margarita. Fourth, while she brought out our takeout boxes she waved it in front of my face while I was in the middle of talking to my co workers. And lastly, to make things easier for her, we wrapped our receipt around each one of our debit cards to let her know which card is paying with what (all four of us had separate bills) and she still charged my co worker for the wrong bill. So let me start by saying I am not a food snob, self proclaimed foodie, or food critic. I'm usually pretty satisfied with an average meal and a couple beers for a decent price. Decided to try Mexicali in Webster for the first time, as I have had a decent time in the past at their Spencer and Holden locations. I showed up with my girlfriend on a Tuesday night around 7:00. Place was empty - which might be expected for a Tuesday, although it is a new restaurant in an area that doesn't have much other Mexican food alternatives. We sat at a high top table at the bar, and were greeted by the bartender who apparently takes care of all the tables in the bar area as well - more on him later. Ordered two different Margaritas, one with a salt rim, one with a sugar rim. When we received them, they were reversed. No big deal, we dealt with it - even though they were $9 bucks a pop. I ordered a Mexicali Sampler....it was just alright. Standard beans and rice with tacos. Edible but nothing special they forgot the sour cream I asked for but brought it out when I asked. My girlfriend ordered a taco salad in a tortilla bowl and it wasn't very good all. Soggy tortilla bowl because of all the water from the salad/grease from the ground beef. A giant mound of lettuce on top that wasn't dressed, no seasonings or anything. Just a big soggy bowl of flavorless meat in a pool of water topped with a giant mountain of plain lettuce. Not what you're hoping for in a $9 salad. Chips and salsa were solid - no complaints there. Now to the worst part, which was the bartender/server. First off, this guy was definitely high out of his mind or he was hammered. No if ands or buts about it. His eyes were droopy and bloodshot, he was slurring and he was just flat out awkward. He called us Amigos, Amigas and a few other random nicknames and really wasn't making much sense. He came back on a couple occasions because he couldn't remember what we ordered. There were two woman sitting at the bar in front of us, and he cared a lot more about hitting on them than he did dealing with his customers. I'm not talking about a little flirting here and there. I'm talking about his arms draped over them, asking them private questions and just being annoying to everyone else around him. We weren't the only people in that bar area that he said "sorry about that" to multiple times because he had no idea what planet he was on. Overall, the food was average/below average, the drinks were definitely overpriced and the service, well, it kind of sucked. Probably not going back. read more

We stopped in for lunch today. First time at a Mexicali. Building is nice inside and alot larger than it looks from outside. Very colorful and clean. Everyone was very friendly and smiling. The server was a nice young lady who helped me thru the menu since I had never been there before. We ordered Seafood Chimichanga, Steak Quesadilla and 2 tacos. Our server gave us tortilla chips and salsa to start. The salsa had a unique flavor that was ok but not great, very watery. Our food was served quickly and hot. The meals were very tasty and the tacos were good. I would definitely go back again and try other items. I am new to real Mexican food and I was not disappointed. The bill was reasonable at $30 (not including tip) for 2 meals, 2 tacos and 2 drinks. Overall a good experience and I look forward to going back again. read more

I had high hopes for this place because there isn't a really good Mexican restaurant in the area. Service was erratic - our guacamole dip came after our meal was served.
