Very authentic Mexican food! Didn't realize it was authentic until actually going to Mexico this past spring. I've personally never had anything I did not like here. I love that they offer fresh chips and salsa. I love the Fire salsa (the hottest one). Seemingly fresh ingredients. I see complaints about the chicken. I've never had it there, so cannot comment. I've had their carne asada, pork, and fish tacos. I love their fish tacos although I don't usually eat much white fish. The batter is nice and the toppings are always good, especially the spicy orange sauce. The addition of avocado is awesome. For the fish taco platter, it costs about $8.50 which isn't terrible to have two of them with the addition of rice and beans. For a single fish taco, however, it is about $3.50. This place can get pretty expensive real quick. If you just go in and buy a burrito or a platter, I think that's the best bet. If this restaurant was still situated in the old building, I'd give 3 stars because it was just an awful setup. Now, they're in a much more spacious area and gives people the chance to move around. I took a star off for per-taco price and for slow service. I made the mistake of ordering at the location and I spent a majority of my lunch break just waiting. Typically, if I expect to eat lunch at 12:00, I'll call at 11:15. If they reduce the cost of the tacos and speed things up a little bit, I'd give 5 stars. read more

Placed an order tonight and was assured on the phone and at restaurant Ilmy tres leche was included. Long wait for order beyond the 10" I was told. Got home, no tres leche. Used to go there all the time. However, since they opened a new location, they left uncaring and incompetent staff to run this location. I will NOT be returning. My food today was terrible and not like it used to be. Note, we always go early to avoid the lunch rush. To make matters worst, my co-workers ordered and did not receive their orders for over 1.5 HOURS! They kept going up to the counter and the 'acting manager' refused to talk to them or give them their money back. He claimed he didn't have the ability to do that. His only advice was to dispute the charge with the credit card company. Meanwhile, the staff behind the counter was laughing at my co-workers. I'm done with this place. Too many other places to eat in the area to deal with this type of nonsense. read more

This is the best Mexican style food in the Mercer county area. We used to go to the one on Quakerbridge and now that we've moved down here, I am THRILLED to be so close to this one. It takes a while to cook as they cook it FRESH and it is worth the wait, but I usually call it in ahead of time so I don't have to wait there. There is a small dining area and a field next to it for the kids to run/play in. I love this place! The Mariachi plate and the Impossible dessert are our faves. read more

Was craving a quesadilla today, but decided to order the Mariachi Plate for some variety, and I'm kind of pissed that I did. Sure, everything was executed well, but the lack of their including any sauce/salsa left me with a dry mess in my tummy. Nothing was zippy or spicy on its own, and I had no means of adding any oomph in that department, so needless to say it was a very boring meal. We used Mexican Mariachi Grill to cater my brother's rehearsal dinner. I was planning the event from across the country and was so lucky to come across this restaurant. They were excellent to work with- accommodating, great communication, and totally put my mind at ease. Coming from a west coaster who's picky about her Mexican food- they were great! I've been to this restaurant couple of times with friends and enjoyed the Tostadas and the times I've been at this establishment it was not crowded but 5 de Mayo what a nightmare. I ordered an item from the special 5 de Mayo menu that would come out quick since it was so busy and Tacos(pork and chicken). Special item was just rice, beans and grounded beef, not so special and I guess they ran out of meat for the tacos because i found plenty if potatoes in my tacos. There are NO potatoes in Tacos! I had to make 3 trips to pick up my food to my table because no tray. No Tostadas. They need cannot handle big crowds, need to restructure for holiday. read more

this is a good place for some cheap and authentic Mexican food. the staff are SO kind and the service is quick. we went on cinco de mayo when it was fairly packed and our food was out in under 10 minutes. I've ordered both the fish and chicken tacos -- the chicken tacos were way more flavorful in my opinion. Love the rice and beans you get on the side with the tacos. I have been looking for good Mexican food since I've been working in the area and thankfully today I walked into this place. Based on some of the other reviews I called my order in so I didn't have a long wait time. The person who answered the phone was polite and answered all my questions. I ordered the Fish Tacos and my friend got the Speedy Gonzalez. We got there and our order was ready. We ate our food there as there were plenty of tables. The place is neat and clean and not dingy as a previous poster said. I am a picky eater but I have to say, the food was great. The rice was just ok, as it seems they put a lot of butter in it. That just seemed odd to me. Other than that I have no complaints. I will definatly7 be going back. read more

AT LAST! Fantastic addition to the eastern Bucks County-upper Mercer County area, which suffers from a serious dearth of places to get good Mexican food. Is this a true 5-star Mexican place or a place to get Mission style burritos? No. But relative to what is nearby, it is a very, very, very good place. This is very close to I-95, the Trenton Mercer Airport and the site of the old, demolished GM factory. The menu is basic with very good (and real) Mexican staples. My guacamole was made fresh to order and the burrito was big, wrapped in foil and dense. The salsas are OK-to-good and definitely not from a jar. Most of the business appears to be takeout but there are about 6 or 7 tables with chairs. My only complaint is that the tortillas and chips are a little bit greasy but that is fairly normal for authentic Mexican food. read more

The food here is just absolutely off the charts. I would never have even known this place was here without yelp because it's so small, but I'm glad I had yelp to find it. Easily my favorite food place in Ewing/Trenton. The food is completely authentic at a very good price. Your first time in you may be conservative and order something that any Mexican place can do well like a quesadilla or something, but I encourage you to try everything and the mariachi plate would definitely be the best way to do that. They make every dish so well and I promise you won't be disappointed. Plus free chips and salsa when you order. Can't beat it read more

I read the prior reviews but I didn't find the prices too high. Chips and salsa are complimentary (you serve them yourself, so it seems to be unlimited). It's $6 for a large quesadilla with rice and refried beans - for me, that was enough food to take half of it home for a second meal! Before ordering, I asked the guy behind the counter if he thought it was enough for one meal or if I should order something else too (I was picturing a Taco Bell sized quesadilla), and he said he thought it would be enough. I appreciate honesty and their friendly hospitality. This was bigger than I was expecting and very tasty, served with salsa and sour cream. My husband ordered the Carne Asada burrito and enjoyed it. We were served free samples of the flan and tres leches. The flan was great - thick and rich - but we both really loved the tres leches. This tres leches is better than that at Mama Mexico in NYC's Upper West Side. The cake is frosted with a whipped cream frosting (not waxy). It's only $2.50 for either, so less that what you usually have to pay for Mexican desserts. I didn't look closely but it looked like they also have carrot cake. I'm from Southern California so I am really happy to find a Mexican restaurant with the flavors I'm used to (on the East Coast, they're usually differently spiced or it's specifically TexMex which is also different). This is just what I was looking for, with the exception of the rice - it was not the typical orange-colored Mexican rice but instead a white rice with corn in it. I found it so-so; if you, like my husband, don't usually care for Mexican rice, you'll be happy about this part of the meal. We were really excited to find a family-run hole-in-the-wall Mexican place! It does not have the atmosphere of a fancy date place but it is perfect for poor students on a food-run or who pride themselves on pulling off an inexpensive date. One of the staff painted the nice paintings on the wall. While I was there, a customer asked if she would be willing to sell and she said she hadn't thought of that but sure, why not? So if you like them, feel free to ask. They also do take-out, so I recommend it either sit-in or if you want something quick but better than fast food. I've been getting my lunch there 1-2 times a week since they opened last Spring. It is family-owned by a young married couple and the husband's mother. This is authentic Mexican food, from family recipes, and it's simple, not fancy or Americanized. You get your food in plain aluminum foil in a plain bag, no frills. I love all kinds of Mexican food, and before this place, the only option for lunch was Taco Bell. Never again! I LOVE their pico de gallo, and always ask for extra with whatever I order--it's become a major food group for me. The chicken quesadilla makes a very satisfying lunch, and just the aroma makes others in the office jealous. Be sure to takes a few containers of homemade salsa. They have mild, hot, and "volcano." They use local, fresh ingredients, so the salsa does change a little from day to day or week to week, depending on what they get at the local farmer's market. I kind of like tasting the variations that result. I'm addicted to the volcano. I'm a stickler for chicken being real, white-meat chicken with no grizzle or skin, and this chicken is always good. The chicken and shredded pork tend to be a little bland on their own, though tthey are both lean and not fatty at all; just add the salsa and pico de gallo to make them very tasty. Their specials are often excellent, usually the mom's old family recipes. They do chicken mole about once every 2 weeks, and it's definitely worth a try...it's enough for me for both lunch and dinner. It's really rich and has the many-layered complex flavor mole is supposed to have, and it stands up to some of the mole I've had in finer-dining Mexican places. I'm not a big dessert person, but even I love their desserts. I like flan when it's good, not too eggy and not instant-pudding-trying-to-be-flan. Their flan is REALLY good--you can get it by the piece, or buy a whole big round one if you want to take it to a party. They also have this new dessert that has a layer of flan and a layer of super-moist and rich chocolate cake. Very inexpensive! I don't know what the other poster expected when they said the prices were high! And for the person who said it wasn't spicy enough, you can ask for salsa or pico to be added to the inside if you like, and that makes it more than spicy enough, especially if you get the volcano salsa. Update: July 2013 I still LOVE this place, and all of the above is still true. You MUST try the "Impossible" dessert (top layer of flan and bottom layer of moist chocolate cake). Mariachi is my go-to spot for delicious, authentic Mexican food on my way home from work in Trenton. I'm borderline addicted to their carne asada and chicken burritos in a shell and recently suggested that they start selling their salsa by the jar. It's just that good. My husband alternates between the chicken tacos and fajitas and has always enjoyed both. The fresh avacado in the platters is a nice touch. The employees are some of the nicest I've met in customer service positions - you'd think you had just wandered onto Disney property from the smiles and greetings. Don't go expecting anything fancier than an awesome $8 meal, a chair and a napkin to clean the drool off your chin and you won't be disappointed. read more

one of the things i enjoy doing while visiting my parents is meeting my mom at her work to go to lunch. it's a nice treat to get her out of the office and it gives me something to do for part of the day instead of just watching tv. there are a few places to eat near where she works, but i think this mexican is a real find! they have loads of options, are on the cheap side, and the staff are super friendly. plus everything is made fresh when ordered. pretty much a perfect formula for work. i had pulled pork tacos which came in a soft taco shell with fresh pico on top and a side of refried beans, rice, and a small salad. also there are free tortilla chips you can help yourself to on the counter with three different types of salsa. all this for $7!! pretty amazing value especially as the portion is a good size and the food is delicious! my tacos were devoured with an added topping of mild salsa and i left feeling very satisfied indeed. definitely looking forward to the next time i get to go here :) read more

Did not feel welcome here, felt more like a burden. There was a man and woman working. The guy did all the work while the woman sat in the back of the restaurant on her phone. Woman came up to help him for a few seconds but the faces she was making was extremely rude. These folks deserve a lot of credit. The food is FRESH. That said, totally get the guacamole. Fresh guac is very nice and not easy to find. I've never had a bad meal here. I love that they keep the place clean. The staff are generally pleasant. There is one cook there who is very nice and has been with them seemingly since inception. He does beautiful work too. His food tastes great and he presents it well. The only thing that I do not like about this place is that the music is too loud almost every time. So if you're looking to relax and eat a meal in peace, its challenging with the loud high tempo mexican music on the speakers. If I've had a stressful day, I specifically will not go here JUST on account of the loud music. But all in all, I give this place a big thumbs up. Its a gem. read more

I usually go for the platter that comes with two tacos. I love the steak and the fish tacos. They are very generous portions and it's very satisfying. During lunch hours is usually packed and might be hard to find a seat so I might recommend calling ahead for your order and doing take out in the office or somewhere else nearby.
