This place is fun to drink at on a Wednesday. Don't even think about eating here..slow service, terrible food. Verging on disgusting.

Worst service I've ever seen. If I owned this restaurant, I would want to know this information, that's why I'm writing my first ever review. I ran Grandma's marathon and we stopped here at about 2:00 for a late lunch. There were 9 people in our party and we were told it would be a 20 minute wait, which we thought was fine. While waiting, the hostesses were talking down upon all the marathon business in town, and rudely asked my father-in-law to move out of his seat so they could use the chair to roll silverware. For one, these "bright" young ladies need a simple lesson on economics, and how much business the marathon brought their owner over the weekend. For two, have a little bit of respect for the way you look when you're the first person people see when they walk in. Look like you at least showered that week. Anyways, after 20 minutes we asked again about the table. We were told it could be another 20 minutes, meanwhile the restaurant didn't look that busy and I suppose the hostesses would have had to actually work and put two tables together. We decided to leave before we even got a table. On the way out, my wife let the young hostess know that this was the worst service we had ever encountered. All of us in our party were shocked, we all go out to eat quite often, although not together due to living far apart, and we have never been treated with such disrespect. This restaurant easily missed out on a $200-$300 profit and a nice tip for one of their own. My advice to the owner/manager would be to clean up/out the front of your restaurant. The food might be great, but if you have a troll controlling who crosses the bridge, it doesn't much matter. read more

All in All i was pretty satisfied. Generally i'm picky when it comes to any sort of "Mexican" food. But it's hard to be picky as far north as Duluth MN. It's an average to good mexican joint. I wasn't expecting to be blown away by the food but it is enjoyable, the prices are reasonable, service is shaky at times, the atmosphere is nice, and we always get seated quickly. Good: - Seating : Great outdoor seating with the most amazing view of Lk Superior, really nice summer spot, but the tables are unsturdy surfaces, cheap like you find at a city park, chairs also. - Bean & Queso Dip: We ate the whole thing in a few min, really great white cheese queso. - Chips: good chips, dark corn with a nice amount of salt. - Margaritas: Gigantic and average to good. - Carne Asada Tacos : you get 3 to an order of nicely seasoned steak and lots of fresh cilantro, it's the closest thing I've found to true 'tacos' not a bunch of crap on top, just the good stuff. nice clean flavors. - Bean & Cheese enchilada: Taste just like the bean and queso dip, so dont order both for dinner. It is found on the veg menu, it's a bean enchilada with queso sauce all over it, and it is a good size portion for dinner. (can also be found on combo plates) Bad: - Guacamole (really really bad guac) It comes in this over blended paste with an artificial green color. you can make it edible by adding salsa and some salt. but i suggest skipping it and ordering queso. - Salsa: not terrible but not good either, bland & no spice read more

Grosssss. Not good at all! I'm giving it two stars because the view of Lake Superior is probably the only good thing about this restaurant. Enchiladas consisted of a cheese less, sauceless tortilla with bland chicken inside and a ton of lettuce with one sliced tomato. Okay/decent Mexican food..... okay/decent margaritas.... gorgeous views of Lake Superior on the balcony... and holy cow!! HUGE beers for only $3.50. I had the carnitas plate, which was absolutely huge! The portions here are a bit excessive, we all had to take to-go containers home (which no one then ate.) :( Service was friendly here....I probably would go back next time for just the view, drinks, and some apps. read more

No social distancing enforced on patio. a local of Duluth, been here several times and it's consistently trending downwards. you can tell people are working hard but they're understaffed and management is poor. Staff appear unkept.. no uniform required. We showed up at 8:15 and they close at 9. We sat at 8:20 and ordered drinks / chips that didn't arrive at our table until 8:50, The server was too vocal about errors in the kitchen.. "dropped a plate, kitchen is mad about making our tortillas on the grill, bartender keeps walking away, etc" . Received incorrect tab, didn't leave until 10:15.. make the drive and go to Guadalajara, Maya's or Pedro's. Always worth it read more

Staff were very hospitable. Waited 20 min for outdoor seating. View is spectacular. Food is terrible. Free chips and salsa, but the salsa tastes like watered down ketchup. Got the taco salad. Chicken was luke warm and tasted like it had been micro waved. Beans were watery. My son had the cheeseburger and fries. His fries had lettuce and tomatoes mixed in. Wonder how that happened? My mother ordered a grilled chicken taco and beef enchilada. Beef was not edible. Chicken was definitely not grilled. Go for the patio view but don't plan on eating anything. read more

I moved from down south to Duluth! Take my word for it, coming from with an area with larger number of Mexican Cuisine, this place is the best around this area. Make sure to bring your parking stub into the restaurant to get it stamped up at the front desk before leaving. read more

We went here for my birthday and it was amazing. The food was very good and authentic. I got the enchiladas with shrimp and crab and it was honestly some of the best food I've ever had. I also had the strawberry daiquiri and they had fresh fruit all over the rim and it was so refreshing. The churros were amazing as well. Service was also great and much faster than I expected. The view looking out to the lake was beautiful as well. I would definitely go again and I recommend Mexico lindo to anyone who loves authentic Mexican food. read more

Well, there was a new host working at Mexico Lindo this week. We thought this would be a positive step, since we have had such bad experiences with the host the last few times we have been here. Well, the new one wasn't much better. When we arrived, she mentioned the wait would be close to an hour. As we waited, we noticed that there were plenty of tables open in the bar. We asked if we could sit in there. Her response was that we could not. So, we waited some more. After over 20 people left the restaurant, we (2 of us) asked if we would be able to be seated fairly soon... she said she didn't know. Several people who arrived and put their names on the list after us were brought into the restaurant to be seated. When we asked about this, she said that she wasn't sure if we still wanted to eat there, so she put the other people ahead of us on the list. She said that she couldn't put us ahead of the people who had gotten there after us, because she would get in trouble. What? Anyways, once the restaurant was only about 1/3 full, they found some space for the two of us. We asked if we could be seated in the section of one of the servers who always does a great job. She said that his section was full and there were no tables available, which was no problem... just thought we would ask in case there was room in that section. Once we were seated and our drinks were ordered, one of our favorite servers came over from his section to chat with us. We mentioned that we requested to be in his section, but they said no. His response "Why?!" I said, "She said that your section was full." His response (with a confused look): "It's not full. I only have 2 tables!" He pointed over to his section, and yep... almost completely empty. The server we did have was excellent. She was very friendly, attentive, and efficient. I ordered something different (which I usually try to do because everything I have had there has been great), but unfortunately, this time it was just ok. I guess my streak of trying something new and having it be awesome had to end sometime. I'll just have to go for something new or try one of my old favorites next time! read more

First stop in this place last evening. Staff were all nice. The 3 stars was more about quality of the food vs service. Granted some one off items we ordered came out wrong (beans instead of rice as an example). But basically this place is trying too hard to be unique vs making good quality food. Example, I ordered chicken fajitas and in the veggies were cucumbers and mushrooms. Neither is really traditional fajita veggies. Just seemed like an attempt to be different. The other complaint I had was the fajitas had a TON of veggies, and very little chicken. The chicken was in little strips that reminded me of my cats soft can food shredded meat. I could go on but I'll leave it at GREAT staff while the food could use an upgrade on quality. read more

This is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Duluth. The menu selection is huge, and pretty much everything I've ever had has been amazing. You get chips & salsa almost immediately after you sit down, both are freshly made. Also, if you want queso with the chips, you can get some for pretty cheap, and it is really flavorful and perfectly melted. The margaritas are good, kind of on the expensive side, but you get a lot. My only downside is that I wish the salsa was chunkier. read more

The deck and view of the lake is amazing and they pour a stiff drink. We ordered the chicken quesadilla appetizer and two cocktails. When the quesadilla arrived it was lacking lettuce or tomato or guacamole. It appeared to be just chicken and cheese. The chicken is canned chicken with no seasoning. We enjoyed our drinks and the view then left. The things written previously about cleanliness are apparent also. But as I stated before, the view is amazing. read more

I ordered my food to go and when I got home and opened up the containers what I saw was a MESS the food was sloppy. There defiantly wasn't fajitas for 2 and everything was soggy because it had been sitting. Best service in Duluth. The wait staff seemed to anticipate our needs. We were with a large group, but everything went very smooth, even when one person had forgotten to order they rushed an order and had it done in 3 minutes! Food was excellent, especially the Lindo Special and the Mole. Also excellent value, beautiful view of Duluth Harbor and in a great location - Fitger Building. We took the kids out on the nearby lawn, for a game of croquet and enjoyed the view. read more

From entering into the restaurant to ordering and leaving, this is by far the worst dining experience anyone will encounter. Just by walking in we felt unwelcome. I made a reservation but my friends ended up calling me saying we had no table. We finally got sat and our server was nowhere to be found. We were left awkwardly waiting for more than half hour. He confused everyone's food and ended up throwing away one of my friends meals because he couldn't remember who's it was. The restaurant is disgusting everywhere you look. The floors aren't clean, there is chips everywhere and we left covered in grease. The quality of the food is horrible. I swear that they buy the cheapest and greasiest ingredients just to make a buck. The food I got i wouldn't even call it Mexican. I would call my food tortillas smothered in grease. The salsa is literally tomato paste nothing resembling Mexican. I literally saw the manager drinking with his employees and customers while working. The only good thing this restaurant has going is the view of the lake. There is nothing pleasant about this restaurant except maybe few hard working servers. This restaurant is a disgrace. We have come here multiple and multiple times throughout the years to favor friends, and every time we are sickened by what we experience. Tourists don't know what they have coming and that is the reason this restaurant is still alive. The day this restaurant closes it will give Duluthians who want decent food in there a piece of mind. read more

If your not out shopping at Fitzgers you'll miss TT is place as it is tucked away there. I've eaten fajitas all around the world and US and this place had the best chicken fajitas! Don't forget to get the Chori queso on the side!! Would eat here again and again. read more

We had a very good meal and drinks. I questioned it a bit from other reviews but was pleasantly pleased.

I want to like this place more than I do. They have such a prime spot and do not capitalize on it at all. First off, their menu is WAY too long. No one wants to look through 8 pages of combinations to figure out what they want. The place was empty when we got there and we were seated way in the back of the place and it was so dark I had to move to a better light to read the menu, we were seated right under a vent as well and ate with our coats on. You will get chips and salsa but it is hard to screw that up. I ordered an enchilada that was swimming in a green chili sauce to the point it was almost soupy. my rice was cold as well. Why I give it 3 stars instead of one, I stopped in with my wife and daughter on the 4th of July to kill time before the fireworks. We sat down and were planning to get just fried ice cream to share. We had the friendliest waiter who gave my daughter a balloon and let her pull on his point of sale card chord. We told him we were just in for ice cream so we wouldn't need too much of his time. He must have checked in 3 times just to give us more chips and salsa and to refill drinks. I ended up tipping about 70% of the bill because he comped my daughters juice. We left feeling great and that will keep me coming back every so often. read more

I don't know where to start. I have been reading some of the reviews that have been posted and felt I better add something of my own outlook on Mexico Lindo. I don't honestly understand the outright distaste some folks have for the food. I consider myself a fairly picky eater especially when I am paying for it, I expect it to be good. I have never felt unsatisfied with the food here. Is it the best Mexican food I have ever had? Nope but it is far from sub par. We come here probably once every couple of months or so and have never not felt like returning. Some things to keep in mind, we never come here on a Friday or Saturday or during one of Duluth`s special events (marathons, tall ships, balloon festivals, etc.) and have never had terrible service. The food has always been decent, not 5 star cuisine but also worth more then a 1 or a 2. The chips and salsa have always been good, I have never had a complaint about the chips, the salsa tastes good but it is processed salsa rather then a salsa with big chunks of fresh veggies in it but it still tastes just fine. The service is hit or miss, never have we experienced the rudeness others have but we have had both good servers and some servers who could have been a bit more attentive. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend Mexico Lindo to friends or take anyone there for dinner, yes there are better places in Duluth but there are also much worse. The Broke Dad read more

The owner of this establishment is a pathetic excuse for a businessman. He has harassed my friends and I multiple times, badgering us to display our IDs despite already being checked by the bouncer when we arrived. Even after showing him our IDs he continued to harass us making us recite our birthdays, addresses, height, and weight. After scoring 100% on his power trip fueled pop quiz he made us pull up social media to show that we were who we claimed. The man gave us a more thorough interrogation than the police would give. His time would be better spent trying to change his bars reputation for the better instead of harassing his customers. We will not be returning. read more

Tried Mexico Lindo today after several recommendations from my coworkers. Very nice place, great service and nice atmosphere. Food was meehh at best. I had the steak ranchero and it was tasteless. I feel this is more of a drinking place and having a good time with friends than having a good meal. The margaritas looked awesome! We used to LOVE the LindO back in the day. I wold always get Burrito Cancun, have lots of cheap wine and we'd return again and again. I hadn't been in quite awhile and well, we haven't missed anything. We were greeted, well sorta greeted by two awkward dudes at the podium. They couldn't decide who was going to seat us in the bar but, but said if we do go into the bar we have to sit in a booth. I'm, ok. Very odd interaction. Our waitress was nice enough and knowledgeable about the menu. I went with the old standby, Burrito Cancun and a Loon Juice on tap. The salsa there has so little flavor. Chips, pretty standard. Our food came to our table in a parade of staff. Great, but we have no utensils. Burrito Cancun is definitely not to the old standards. Way less shrimp and chicken, and I never understood the orange slice as a garnish, except that it's orange and adds color. All-in-all, it was about a 6. Had the prices been a few bucks less, I'd be more impressed. One star for the nice waitress and one for the fact you had a good cider on tap. Besides that, all the other interactions with staff were awkward and the food is pretty monotone. It will be awhile before we try again. It would probably have to be summer with the deck open and 1/2 price pre-mixed margarita night. read more

What a beautiful setting. It is part of the Fitzgrads complex. Worth the walk. Service is friendly and attentive. The drinks are amazing. A large margarita will do most people for the night. Great Happy Hour and a balcony tight on a the north shore with views of the lift bridge and Superior. An extensive menu of authentic dishes. I call it Mexican American rather thanAmericanMexican fare. Absolutely loved this place! We were nervous to go here after reading some bad reviews about the restaurant. However, we were very happy we ended up going. Our waiter was very nice and very on top of things! I ordered the California burrito and was very pleased. The steak inside was really tender and delicious! This is the worst Mexican restaurant my girlfriend and I have ever been to. Ever. Everything was terribly bland. Everything. Even the salsa just tasted like watered-down tomato paste. To make matters worse, my girlfriend's enchilladas were swimming in a thin cheese soup rather than actual enchilada sauce.
