Decided to give this restaurant another chance and I'm glad I did. My husband and I were greeted by a nice gentleman who we believe was the owner/manager of the restaurant. He was so attentive and polite which made the experience so much better than our last visit. The Aguas Frescas were so delicious! I had the Hibiscus (Agua de Jamaica) and my husband had an Agua de Limón (lemon). 10/10 We were delighted to have complimentary fresh chips with salsa! Not many Mexican restaurants give Chips and salsa so that was nice to have. For lunch I had the Birria Tacos, which were a little on the dry side but the consomé definitely complemented the tacos. Just wish I would've gotten my tacos with cheese and I'm sure it would of made it a whole lot better. 4/5 My husband had the special, Costillas en Adobo and it was finger licking' good! First of all their food is terrible. Second of all I decided to order from them even though I hadn't liked their food before because Uber eats said they would come in a half hour and I needed food fast. It took them more an hour which is unreasonable even if the Uber eats estimate was optimistic. The DELIVERY was supposed to be through doordash after I ordered almost $100 worth of food so I was notified to call the resturant which I did. I called and they claimed to not have had an order from me and they told me to call doordash which I did but since the order wasn't through doordash only the delivery they had no trace of the order. I called the resturant back and they refused to give a refund although the order had been canceled BY them. The chips were solid and although the salsa had a good flavor, it was really liquid-y and hard to scoop up. The place is pretty grungy and doesn't look the cleanest. Do not order from this restaurant. Clearly they have management issues. My order was not delivered due to a mixup with the courier. No problem, spoke to the owner who apologized and when I said I was missing an item he told me to report it to Postmates. Great, no problem. Done. I started eating and there's no meat in the torta. I call and the manager now says he doesn't know what to do, calls the owner, then tells me repeatedly to cancel a delivered order. How? Exactly, order was delivered, missing item reported. Noticed afterwards that it was not even the correct torta. So he tried to get me to cancel, I say it's impossible. His solution was for me to double to order by ordering again and I won't be charged. At this point I'm irritated and over the meal. He refuse to let me know when the owner is back in and keeps hanging up on me. Yes, he's a bendejo, zero percent capable of service. I looooooove this place. Let's just start it off like this... the food is 20/20! The food is SO GOOD. I used to live right down the street from this establishment and it couldn't get any better than that. I've at least half of the menu and their aguas frescas and all 20/20. The ingredients are always so fresh and tasty. The service is fairly good. It's always a hit and miss here I feel. They are also an LGBTQ+ establishment which is awesome. The place itself is SMALL. I'm only giving one star because I can't give none. Currently hospitalized with 3 different bacterias (salmonella & two different strains of e.Coli). This is my 3rd day in the hospital and having food poisoning isn't great. I'm not big on takeout for this very reason and now I will never eat takeout again. While eating, I noticed that the pico de gallo had different cheeses in it, which is odd because cheese is not an ingredient of pico de gall. I also seen a few strips of steak on my plate as well. I think this is the best Mexican restaurant I've been to. I'm vegetarian, so I can't speak for the meat, but all my omnivorous friends have given great reviews. My favorites are the flor de calabaza taco, flor de calabaza quesadilla (great hand made tortilla!) and the chiles rellenos. The decor is kitschy in a charming way. They seem to change it once a month to match the season. The servers are also charming, and their cheery demeanors fit well with the decor. The prices are great too. Generally, paying $10-$15 here on food will get your stomach full and give you leftovers for tomorrow. They haven't been very consistent in their liquor license, but when they do have drinks the prices are normal NYC prices and will dominate your bill. read more

It was available on Seated, as well as had a Michelin rating so it made it easy to pick. The decor is cute and authentic and the staff are really friendly. They take place in Restaurant Week, which is a pretty good price so I would recommend it. The flautas were pretty good, as well as the fajitas.
