It's like a small, old restaurant, that you would never look at and say "wow, that place looks awesome! We must go!!!" The neighborhood look a bit unpleasant. It looks extremely humble and inside you can tell it got some history. Mom and pop vibes. Staff is polite. Food was good. Salsa was hot. Like hot hot. Temperature wise. Which was a first for me. But I really liked it. Nachos was heavy. Cheese heavy. Good amount of meat. Great portion. They did not skimp. Tacos la carbon was bomb. The beef was grilled. Had Smokey charred flavor. Tender. Good flavor. The refried beans though was the best thing there. Legit would go back for the beans and beef. So good. Rice was ok. But the beannns. Great stuff. I'm glad we stumbled across this place. Yall should really give it a chance.

I ordered via door dash. 3 barbacoa tacos and 2 pupusas. The barbacoa tacos were amazing! Some of the best I've had in a while, and the pupusas were also very delicious. It took a while for the restaurant to make my order though, literally like 45 minutes which is odd for some tacos. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed them & would probably order again.

So I order the Beef Fajitas Nachos via door dash and I receive my food and it looks like this...Gross

Never judge a book by it's cover. We all know that. This hole in wall place has tasty tacos and great, cheaply priced authentic Mexican food! The place is small and cozy. They have a few flat screen TVs which usually has the Spanish channel on. I always order the lengua (beef tongue) and al pastors (pork) tacos. Their green sauce is bomb.com! The servers don't speak fluent English but their service is efficient and they always come back to ask how service is. I typically come here for breakfast because they open pretty early. I recently came here for dinner and the only difference is FREE chips and salsa for dinner diners. They have fresh squeezed OJ, Mexican beers, Coke products and authentic sodas. Oh and I never have to ask for napkins. Fun fact, lol. I love when there's paper towel rolls or napkins on the table! I'm a messy eater and I hate consistently asking for napkins. Unless there's significant change, I will always come back here!

Another taqueria that i enjoyed but wasn't ecstatic at the first bite. I ordered the "Quesadilla Especial" for 9.99$ The Carne Asada was soft and moist. There was an abundant amount of cheese though. That's what a quesadilla is anyways so i can't complain. Tacos La Balita is on the corner of Wilcrest and bellaire. Not joined with the other stores within the plaza. Ambiance: Quiet clean taco shop. Has maybe 3 big tables, a taco bar, and a few smaller tables for smaller parties. I'd recommend coming with someone who has some knowledge of Spanish. I encountered a language barrier but through simple gestures, we were able to figure out solutions. Good service, not great. Would go once in a while. Wouldn't want my arteries to be clogged

We visited around 5:00 PM on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately for a party of two without a reservation. The restaurant is huge, and despite being very busy, the service was efficient. We were seated in one of the back dining rooms and greeted with complimentary chips and salsa, both of which were delicious. The atmosphere was fantastic--packed with World Cup fans, with what felt like everyone wearing a soccer jersey. As fellow futebol fans, we loved the energy. Being from California, we're fortunate to have access to some excellent Mexican food, so we were a little hesitant about trying Tex-Mex. I ordered the chicken fajitas with flour tortillas and a passion fruit margarita. The chicken had a smoky flavor and a sauce that gave the dish a distinctly Texas-style twist. The flour tortillas were outstanding, and the refried beans and rice were just as enjoyable. The passion fruit margarita was also a standout and something I'd definitely order again. Overall, this was a great dining experience and a place I'd recommend for the atmosphere alone. The restaurant appears well-equipped to accommodate large groups, making it a great option for gatherings. Next time, I'd love to return with a bigger group and take advantage of one of their margarita pitchers!

For drinks, my husband and our friends tried some of the margaritas from their large and unique margaritas menu, as well as their hibiscus agua fresca. All of the drinks were very pretty and it seemed like everyone enjoyed them, too! We started with their chips and salsa trio, which we all really liked. The chips were on the thicker side, but were crispy and not stale or chewy at all. Each of the salsas were quite different, and two were served warm, which we really liked! For the price, I'd consider getting the chips and salsa as a non-negotiable, honestly. For entrees, we tried the enchilada rojas, chilaquiles verde w/ chicken and beef, birria barbacoa ramen, and huaraches. My husband felt like his ramen could have included more meat, but aside from that everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. The highlight was probably the desserts, though! We got a quatro leches and two ordered of their giant and amazing churros. Both were incredibly tasty and reason enough to return for another visit in the future!
