The food is so delicious! My favorite is the taco salad! It is the best I have ever had and it comes with guacamole!

The food is always really awesome and fresh when i come in. But the way the management talked to the staff was simply unacceptable today. Talking down to an associate (Lindsay) while i stood there and waited for my order, and frankly i felt insulted just standing there. I'm not sure if it was a big issue or not but talking down to associates in front of customers is FAR from professional. Might be loosing my business just for the simple fact that they can't just be nice in front of customers. Makes me think about what they say about me after I leave. Lindsay was more than helpful and i felt so bad for her after hearing the way she was talked to. Hopefully they change the way they talk to their employees because it's pathetic. read more

Chips need to be improved! Not warm and given a very small portions (I counted 11 chips)- no refills. I understand it's only a dollar, but don't feel like standing in line to pay for refills when everyone in york is unlimited! I am a long time fan of the deep fried Stromboli they are irresistible. Then with their move came elegant dinners with complex flavors. But the icing on the cake is the craft brews. Rick the brewer makes balanced drinkable beer that pair well with every menu item. We drive an hour to enjoy an excellent meal and catch up with the friendly staff. read more

We came here a few times in the past at their old location & liked it, but we just left the place and couldn't be more unhappy. After 45 minutes of waiting we asked what was going on, 3 small kids were starving and approaching bedtime now. They lost the ticket, it was another 10 minutes before our food came out. My fish tacos were so greasy the taco shell became saturated and fell apart- no good way to eat it. My husband's Stromboli wasn't good either. The pizza must not have been good since my kids love pizza and barely touched it after the first bite. Sad- it used to be a nice place. read more

I ordered a big burrito. I was told 5-10 minutes and it would be ready. It was ready in less than 5 minutes. To me that's like going to a fast food restaurant which is not what I was going for. I have ordered from here before and I never had issues but after this time I am hesitant to order again. The burrito was hot but it definitely looked old and reheated. My husband and I just LOVE Mexitaly. We have been going there for years...Now at the new location. The space is cool... the Mexican and Italian food is scrumptious... AND the micro brewery offers creative and delicious beers. If that isn't enough, check the schedule for live music. There is an odd combination of food. Mexican and Italian. Somehow it works. The italian quesadilla is pretty dang solid. Ironically I did have to have my gall bladder out the day after eating here. So I would bet that the grease contributed to that ! read more

My wife ordered a white pizza that she enjoyed, and a fajita burrito for myself that was ok but not the best I've ever had. I thought the prices were a little high for the food. The Mexican menu is awesome, very fresh ingredients! But I have to get the pizza every time. Our favorite is roasted garlic , onion, sweet pepper and sausage. You'll never see pizza the same again. This is my go to place for the best salsa in town! The in house fresh made salsa is among the best I have ever tasted. I get fresh salsa to go every few weeks so that I have it on hand. I have been a patron of this unique restaurant for years. It is not a full table service restaurant which lends to its casual and comfortable atmosphere. There are creative menu and brew specials weekly. My personal favorites are the black bean soup, the salads, quesadillas and the monster burrito. This is a great place to come for consistently good and creative dishes with a great variety of in house brewed ales at fair prices. read more

They just opened up this location, so I'll cut them some slack about the state of the place. They basically seemed like they were a few weeks away from being ready to open, it was pretty chaotic and disorganized. Even though the sign claimed it was a "Brewhouse", there was no beer at all. When I ordered I was told it would take a while (No lie there, the burrito took 35 minutes). They kept locking the door and telling people it was closed. The exit doors weren't working, so you had to unlock the entry door to get out. Also, the music they played was a lot of awful shoe gazer indie sadness. Whoever was in charge of the music should be put on meds. It was very strange all around. OK, the food. I got the seafood burrito (chipotle seasoned shrimp and scallops) and chips. The first thing I noticed about the burrito was how soft it was. I'm used to tightly packed bundles of joy that are filled with Mexican goodness. I took a bite and immediately a lava flow of refried beans came pouring out. Most burritos have rice, black or pinto beans, and the meat plus whatever veggies and extras. This one was more like a Taco Bell 7 Layer Burrito, just a tube of slop. The only way I knew it was seafood was the texture of the shrimp when I bit them- the flavor was totally killed by the brown slop it was swimming in. The thing I love about burritos is the vast array of flavors you get- all distinctive yet they all come together. With this one, it just tasted like the beans & sour cream goo combo. There wasn't enough rice in it, either. Maybe this is a different style of burrito I'm not used to, but I found it kind of gross. It also gave me some crazy gas, so I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, but if you want to be a king gas blaster then I guess this is a positive. The chips were a bit bland and underseasoned. I only ate a few and threw them out. They also didn't serve them with any salsa, and I am a dipper so this was pretty disappointing. I didn't have any Italian, so hopefully that's their focus and the beer will be good. The Mexican was...interesting. With Chipotle and Roburritos so close, I can't imagine people going to Mexitaly for their burrito fix. Unless they love soupy beans. read more

I'm updating my review of this place, but still keeping it a 4 star review. We were just here over the weekend (3 of us, this time, instead of the usual 4 of us), and the food is still very good, and we still have yet to be disappointed with anything that we've ordered. But what I did notice this time around is that they have re-done their menu, and now the bill for 3 of us (just ordering a poco burrito, a steak quesadilla, and their special spinach & kale quesadilla, along with 3 sodas) came to $32. In the past, our family of 4 normally would spend about $30, give or take, depending upon what everyone ordered. So their pricing has definitely increased, which isn't the end of the world or anything, but I think it's worth mentioning. It used to be really good food, and a really good value (averaging about $8/person). Now it's still very good food, but not such a great value (averaging closer to $11/person). We'll still go back, but it may be less frequently. read more

I've been coming here for years. Their new location is nice and open and has more seating than their old one. The food is just as good as ever; try the Italian Stromboli, it's really good. Even the Caesar salad, a normally pedestrian salad, has a special zing. I moved to Chester county a few years ago, but whenever I come home I make it a point to get lunch at Mexitaly. read more

. I usually don't write reviews but I have been a big fan of mexitaly for awhile. I am disappointed about the Itailian food. I don't understand the concept of the restaurant anymore. It used to be tacos, pizzas, etc. Now they have Itailian food that would seem to fit in a fine dining restaurant. The concept doesn't make sense and on top of that the food is not good! The beet agnolloti is very oily and salty. The pasta was undercooked and chewy. The cod was way to salty and I didn't think for the portion size it would be that overpriced. The steak my wife ordered was supposed to medium but it was way more medium rare. From now on we will only be ordering from the old menu. read more

We've gone here a few times and really enjoyed it. The prices were decent and the food was good. We went back there today and they changed the menu and hiked the prices up. They also no longer have large pizzas which is why we went there. They only serve individual pizzas and they are expensive for an individual pizza. I think $8 to $10 is what they were charging. I was is York last weekend and stopped into Mexitaly for tacos and beer. While both were really high quality, and the bartender was friendly, informative and attentive, I couldn't get past the facility. The restaurant is located in a strip mall in a location which was previously a space for children (day care?) . The lighting was particularly obnoxious- circa 1980's shoe store fluorescent. If they can find the funds to convert this space or another into a more appropriate environment, this could be a real gem. The tacos will draw me back- but take out only. read more

Came in for lunch today. Had the 3 tacos with ground beef. They were pretty good. I also had chips and guacamole. The guac was spot on with just the right amount of garlic. A little on the pricey side though- $3.00 for a condiment sized portion. The chips however lacked any corn flavor. They were bland and def brought down the experience. I remember this was the case the last time I ate at their other location about a year ago. To be different they could have gone with flour chips like the Sierra Madre in mechanicsburg. The vibe has def been upgraded compared to their old location. I did see a guy punching dough and handling food without gloves. This should be a big NO-NO. Overall the food is good and the atmosphere great. They now serve their own craft brews along with sangria. Will need to come back on a Friday/Saturday night. Greg, the owner, has done something exceptional here. He's been working his tail-end establishing what he's visioned at his new location, and it just keeps getting better. Order at the counter from your choice of fresh Mexican or Italian food. Or, should you fancy their specials - find them listed on the wall. (We always order the chips and guac to start!) This is definitely our families favorite go-to spot! Greg is so friendly and recognizes us each time. We've explored a variety of meals and specials and have never been let down. Check out their brews (the IPA's are my fav!) as well as the live music too. On another note (and this is surely my personal opinion) Greg has phenomenal taste in music and it's always a pleasure listening to it playing while you eat. read more
