This was one of our date night outings and I was so impressed with everything from the service, the food and decor! The owner was very personable and the staff were very attentive. I don't believe you can wrong with any of the options on the menu!

Lovely spot! Every time I'm in town staying in AdMo we hit up Meze and it never fails. It feels authentic and the taste are always great. I've never had a bad meal here and the dips/Meze are all phenomenal. The beet dip in particular has my heart and is something I genuinely crave constantly. Service is always good and friendly. Ambience is great. It's very casual and you can make it into whatever kind of evening you're trying to have! Absolutely love Meze and will be back next time I'm in town.

My daughter suggested this place for a family celebration and it was a great choice! Our server was an absolute joy - great suggestions on the menu and a lot of fun all throughout our meal! We started with a couple of dips - the Atom and Pembe Sultan. We followed that with a couple of things from the garden section - Sigara Boregi and Mucver. These were delicious and my favorites of everything we had. We also had the Karides Sote (shrimp) and Salmon Kebap. They topped it off with an unexpected and fun birthday dessert! We had a great time!

I came here with coworkers for a dinner reservation. Although the inside is a bit cozy they were able to accommodate us even though we were a large group. They have an outdoor dining area as well for more room. We tried the 15 item group menu which was great for a party of 10 people. Personally both the chicken and lamb Sis Kebabs were favorites. Everything was delicious and good portions. Their cocktails were great as well. Service was on point with the servers bringing food at the right time. Overall a solid Turkish meal experience.

I came here for a birthday via resy recommendation, I did the all you can eat brunch for two hours but it wasn't anything like super amazing. And for $45 plus tax and tip (30%) it was just a bit much, food was decent but the sliders were probably the best thing I had. The servers were pretty neutral. I don't think I would be coming back though. I was expecting more.

I had the best time with my friend at Mezé. We were walking along 18th street and loved the outdoor seating Mezé had with green vines all around and plenty of overhead fans. We decided to sit down for brunch there because we just wanted to go inside of the cute patio they set up. Our server was extremely attentive. We ordered the baba ganoush and dolmas. Both items were clearly labeled vegan which made ordering so simple. Additionally, our server asked if there were any allergens or dietary restrictions and I let him know I was vegan. I really appreciate when servers take extra care in ensuring they are aware of any special diets at the table. We also ordered mojitos. My friend had a mango mojito and I had a virgin mojito. I love how my mojito looked identical to my friend's. It always makes me feel special when the alcohol-free option is as festive as the alcohol one. My drink was so refreshing! There was the perfect balance of mint and sweetness. It was just the right drink for the 80 degree weather. Pita comes complimentary to each table and it was delicious! Very fluffy and I love that the pita was already cut up. It made sharing the bread so easy. The bab ganoush was good. It was not too heavy on the eggplant and not too smoky. It was light and seasoned just enough. The Dolmas I wish I ordered two of. I love dolmas! Theirs was filled with plenty of rice and flavors and not dripping with oil which I appreciated. Overall this spot was the perfect place for appetizers with a girlfriend. I will definitely go back for a date night. I enjoyed the ambiance, service, and food. There are many more vegan options on the menu I have to try, and cannot wait to eat there again.

My wife and I went here on a whim and were so happy with our decision. We sat outside in the streetery which was unassuming, but the food was amazing and the service was great--we got the Karisik Kebap platter and by the end the only thing left was some rice. Not to mention that the prices were pretty reasonable (we got food and drinks and spent $80-$90 before tip). The cocktails were a little pricey ($14-$17), but they had a nice selection of beers (imported, domestic, and local) $6-$8. Overall, I'll definitely be going back and would recommend for anyone looking for some tasty Mediterranean food at a good price.

Delicious food... fabulous service... nice atmosphere- heck, yasssss! All was good! - We enjoyed the Happy Hour appetizers (humus, gavur dagi and dolma). - The blackberry mojito was ok and the white wine was pretty good. - The sigara boregi (cigar shaped pastry with feta, parsley and dill) was fantastic. - The tavuk kofte bagendili (chicken meatball) was very small, but yummy! Give this enjoyable spot a try- there's a reason they have many years of success. :)

Our group of 6 made a reservation for dinner. We were promptly seated outside, as we requested. The servers were friendly and attentive, bringing us extra bread when we needed and constantly refilling the water. The drinks were well made, especially the Turkish coffee martini. However, the food was not as good as we've had at other Mediterranean restaurants. For example, the lentil soup had a grainy texture which wasn't my favorite. And the "shepard's" salad was very small for the table. Pictures of some of the food are attached. We did appreciate that the receipt clearly showed the tip already included for our large group.

I had a hankering for Mediterranean food, so we decided to try out Mezze because we have only heard good things. The restaurant is very small, yet sleek, with a beautiful bar, dimmed lighting, and a very modern interior. This set up is perfect for a date night or an intimate one-on-one dinner meeting. Onto the food! We honestly didn't order too much because we were not too hungry, and this was our began regret. We began with the Baba Ghanoush and then ordered the Steak Frites for our entrees. The pita was so warm and soft, and when dipped into the Baba Ghanoush, which was whipped to a perfect light and fluffy texture, the combination was delicious. The Steak was small but was mashed down to be thinner, so there was an illusion of feeling like I was eating a portion bigger than it truly was! The meat was incredibly tender and even with being so thin, they mastered the  warm and melt in your mouth center with the pan seared crunchy exterior. I honestly was amazed by this concept. And I could not stop eating the fries. They were so crispy and skinny, yet not too fried at all, which I love. They were delicate and flavorful. I do regret not trying more things, as literally everything on the menu looked phenomenal, and I went with such a basic entree for the variety they had (especially when the reason we chose here was because of my specific craving). However, even going with such a classic option, my taste buds were elevated to a new dimension. I am incredibly excited to come back and try more food here.

Meze has never let me down! Excellent attentive service for our group of 10!!! We were able to reserve outdoor seating online. All the food was good. I love the complimentary bread and olive oil and the mojitos. Great for vegetarians and meat eaters alike and attentive to food allergies.

One of my best friends and I went to Meze for a much needed catch up session. What's better than doing that over all you can eat and drink brunch? We loved the inside of Meze; it's super cute! We sat at this great little nook upstairs. Our waitress was AMAZING. At the end of our meal, we learned she was new and in training. I was shocked because I can only say the most positive things about her. She was attentive, made great recommendations, super friendly, and always made sure our beverages were full! The drinks were made extremely well (you could taste the alcohol which isn't always the case at all you can drink brunch) and the food was delicious. We tried the eggs Benedict, hummus, Istanbul burger, Brussels sprouts, quinoa kofte, dolma, sigara boregi, all the cheese, and the French toast. We enjoyed everything immensely- my favorites were the quinoa kofte, dolma, and the sigara boregi but I would get everything again in a heartbeat. I can't wait to return!

I must admit that I was suspicious before giving this Turkish restaurant in DC a try as a Turkish citizen, (you never know these days) but Mezé Restaurant met my expectations %100. Also, I had no idea that they are the oldest Turkish restaurant in DC-- Wow, that is so cool. I ordered Iskender Kebap which was originally $26.50+ but somehow I have gotten a %40 off by Uber Eats-- I was like "hey I take it." Haha. It took little over an hour for meal to be cooked and driver to bring it to my unit in NoMa which is about 2.2 miles from their location in 18th Street. The ingredients were clearly high quality and fresh. Fried tomato and brad underneath the lamb meet for instance were delicious as heck. Especially the meet was so good. It was not super soft but yet the taste was lasting a few seconds in my mouth. The yogurt to pour over the meet could have been homemade to be honest but it was still delicious. Btw, Yogurt belongs to the Turks not Greeks damn it! Just kidding. Or do I?:) Overall, my experience has been great. I would definitely recommend for my friends and hopefully I can have the opportunity of dining in someday. Ustamın Ellerine sağlık :)

I had no idea what I was in for. Planta is GORGEOUS! Such amazing vibes. Looks straight out of Beverly Hills to me. I was stunned by the amazing interior. Both of my waitresses were amazing. Super caring and friendly. I was there alone and didn't feel lonely at all because they took such good care of me. Even when I was leaving and going back to my hotel, they bagged up my food and gave me extra napkins and sauces. So nice! I started with a watermelon cooler (N/A) and it was so refreshing and zesty. Their mocktail menu was incredible. And well priced for mocktails at about $7-$9. I started with fresh rolls and peanut sauce. I eat a lot of fresh rolls and am picky, but these were so good. Amazing peanut sauce, super fresh and crunchy, perfect herb balance. I got the vegan poke bowl with some charred tofu and WOW. The amount of flavors and textures in this bowl. I was amazed. I wish I could eat here every single day. Every part of my experience was incredible.

Wild how they make so much tasty vegan stuff. Although, my Korean fried Chick'n sandwich definitely needed more accompanying tater tots ( I had maybe 10). Food came out super fast. Service has to be 3 stars though. Our server said the gochujang mayo wasnt spicy, when gochujang is (it's got a mildly strong kick that quickly evens out/dissipates) so that's just incorrect to tell people who can't handle heat. More importantly, we were all done with desert at roughly 9pm and it wasn't until 9:40, despite multiple moments of eye contact from a few of us, that our server even came to our table to clear our plates. We'd all clearly been done, not even nibbling, for almost that whole time. In that time, other than his regular duties, our server seemed to do other idle things or "end of the evening" tasks, setting up other tables, stacking plates on them, etc. instead of checking on us. Again, a few of us made eye contact a couple times, which can indicate (along with none of us having touched our plates for 5-10 minutes) that we're done. Other plates had been cleared almost right away. We were also all left wanting for water at the end as no other staff came by to see if we needed more. So yeah, not thrilled about that. Also, it was weirdly a smidge too warm in Planta Queen tonight. I suspect the AC just wasn't on as strong because of the AQI in DC (on June 17, 2026) but it was noticeable.

LOVE THIS PLACE & ERRRYTHANG ABOUT IT!!…read more When it comes to fast, fresh pizza that can be made unique by you or ordered from a list of pre-crafted pies...&Pizza got you covered! I feel like a kid in a candy store every time I come here. I mean any and every topping you can imagine is available for you to create a "Picasso of a Pizza!" If I could eat &Pizza every day...I would! I mean he#! (heck..lol) why not, their pizzas meet the standards of the USDA food pyramid. I mean despite the calories, I can get all my nutritional needs all met in one place and in one meal: meats, veggies, dairy, fruits, and grains! WHAT!? Holla, if you feel me! LOL. THE VIBE Modern space, friendly helpful staff, and great prices. You walk in and will be immediately greeted. Next, you choose your crust, sauce, veggies, meats and cheese. You can make your own pizza as healthy or extremely indulgent as you'd like. And, I am not kidding....this place keeps it real!! They are very generous on the toppings too. Once satisfied with your choice of toppings, in goes your pizza into a giant commercial-sized 'Easy Bake' Oven for a brief few minutes. Before you know, it is done and ready to be served.! THE FOOD For the extreme carnivore as myself, my " go-to" is: THE MAVERICK --Caution...for MEAT-LOVERS ONLY!!! Like every establishment on this planet, you order at the checkout counter unless obviously stated otherwise, which it wasn't. I stood there for a minute looking at the menu before the young man behind the counter gave me a blank look and turned to look at one of this employees. That female employee then told me to go to the opposite side of the shop to order from the ladies working hard behind the glass screen making the pizza. The order sign? Miniscule. Even if you come through the front entrance you would probably miss it. Not only that, the female employee said it like it was OBVIOUS. It's not over yet, after I ordered, I walked over to the pick up spot to wait, thinking that you pay once the pizza is finished. Nope, once again, that same female employee looked at me and said "You done? Then NOW you go pay" dramatically pointing at the checkout counter. Again, like it was obvious, and I'm the idiot for not knowing how things work in their shop. The other employees just stared at me all amused. The cherry on top was when I was receiving the pizza, I ordered the American Honey, which is suppose to come with hot honey, hence the name?? I asked for it at the finishing station where you can ask for toppings like cheese and such, only because I can see that it did not have any on it. I told the first guy, I saw him nod his head, then stand completely still and not do a single thing. So then I asked for parmesan and he finally did something. The whole time he did not say one word to me, and looked like he was dragged here by his mama to work. So in the end, I got a mediocre pepperoni flatbread with nothing special but with a nice BIG side of attitude and horrible customer service. It felt like being in a pretend pizza shop ran by a bunch of teenagers for mandatory volunteer hours. Like, I've been treated better at shady gas station counters. I highly do not recommend coming here and wasting your time and money.

The serving size of the dishes I ordered were medium to small. The service was far less satisfactory than food. I tried the following dishes: 1. Complimentary pita: ~40g per piece. Not salty and paired well with the other dishes. Definitely get some! 2. Lahmacun: The lamb+beef mixture was tasty. It came with 4 pieces. 3. Branzino: ~6oz. The fish was grilled to perfection; juciy tender, and the skin was nicely charred. It was served with freh parsley and seasoned grilled tomato (salt+oregano I think). 4. Imam Bayildi: Half of an eggplant topped with sauteed onions and tomatoes. While itself was pretty normal, it went so well with the Ottoman rice. 5. Ottoman Rice: The true highlight of all the dishes I tried! It was basically Basimati rice cooked with dried apricots, raisins, almonds & pine nuts mix, and seasoned with black currant. Overall it was warm, earthy and lightly smoky. The apricot slices added some delightful sweetness and juiciness to the dish. Should pair well with Labneh, chicken and seafood. But to be honest, I can simply eat this stuff along for a whole meal! 6. Tabbouleh: They went against the traditional recipe by substituting the bulgur with quinoa and added some pomegranate arils. I liked the special texture of quinoa. The sweetness of pomegrante arils also enriched the flavors. However, I had to constantly spit the seeds when enjoying the salad. 7. Kofte: Adana style ground beef patties. Just like what I make at home haha! I ordered it as an add-on to my salad at lunchtime. It came with only 2 pieces which weighed no more than 3oz in total... Despite the delicious food, service was disappointing. The first time, the dinner, was Okay. While my food came out slowly, at least my server was aware of it and asked me how I liked the dishes. The second time, the lunch, was horrible. Even before I was seated, my server made me feel that he was reluctant to serve me, and emphasized that I had to order asap. "Luckily", I had already decided what to order. After I got my dishes, no one in the restaurant asked me if the food was Okay. And at the check, my bill was thrown onto my table. In comparison, the two ladies dining next to me came even after I started eating, but were greeted warmly and were given lots of time to decide what to order; not to mention that the staff gave them lots of suggestions, asked about their dining experience, and even chatted with them about sightseeing in DC, etc. Such discrimitory treatment is really unacceptable.

They were quite busy - and seemed the two employees working were a bit overwhelmed. There were a few people waiting for food, a line to order, they were out of containers for sauces, and some of the sauces were empty. I ended up waiting for an extra 25 minutes until I asked to check on an order - it was apparent from their reaction, our order got lost in the shuffle. Once they realized, they made it right away, which was appreciated. However, they grabbed a bag of fries that had been sitting on the counter since I walked in - so they were cold. Solid food, great cause, and one of the best affordable options for a quick bite at the Wharf! Recommend them!
