Eddie was great. I had 4 trees that needed to be pruned... 2 large avocados, Chinese Magnolia, and a lime. Out of the 3 contractors I had come over to offer me their philosophies on how to prune the trees.... he was the most knowledgeable - and had the best price. My biggest concern was for the avocados. These were old trees that had been badly cut back before, and had never been professionally pruned in their lives. I needed someone good. Eddie walked me through it and showed me that he was the guy for the job. Now that the job is done, the trees look great, and they will not have to be pruned for 3 years. We are totally pleased and satisfied with the excellent work that eddies' crew provided! our landscape looks like it went through a 'successful plastic surgery' :') ] Eddie seems to be quite busy with multiple jobs which requires that he hop between crews and sites, this is probably why some past reviewers expressed some disappointment regarding his promptness in returning calls or estimates. as far as I am concerned while these may be valid comments..the bottom line is the 'end work product' as to how your landscape looks when all is done! Eddie and his crew know what they're doing. I priced out a few places and his price was the most reasonable. His crew was polite, on time, skillful, and very careful about keeping our place as clean as possible. They even left their tarps for a few days after the job was done to make sure that the pine tree sap didn't stain. The finished product was gorgeous - the trees look great. Eddie also gave us some tips about trees we were considering on our property. Eddie was responsive through email and the work was done on time and on budget. He's also licensed, bonded, and insured. I made an appointment with Eddie to give us an estimate for tree trimming services. He arrived on time after having canceled and rescheduled a previous appointment. He seemed knowledgeable and we discussed the work that needed to be done. He told me that he would have an estimate emailed to me by the end of the day. When I didn't get it by the end of the next day, I emailed him. Nothing. It's three days now and still nothing - very disappointing. Why waste your time and mine if you're not going to follow-up. If you don't want the job or are too busy, have the courtesy to let me know. They might be great tree trimmers, but I'll never know. read more

2-10-10 I've never written a review before, but Meza's incredible service at a great price compelled me to. Eddie and his crew are incredibly and conscientious, doing things like dissassembling my outside light fixtures so they would not be broken, and reassembling them at the end of the day. When they were on the roof, they noticed that my gutters were clogged with leaves, so they cleaned all of the gutters free of charge. They left the house spotless, raking and blowing away all the leaves, and washing down my steps and driveway. And Eddie couldn't be a nicer guy! read more

I had three tree trimmers come look at my trees for my property in LA. I got three different prices. One of the estimates I got was from those business cards left on the front porch. It was a really cheap estimate compared to the other two. They told me they had workers comp and insurance and licensed. When I looked them up on the CSLB website they could not be found because they did not have a contractors license but a business license, and no workers comp or liability insurance. Almost got fooled. Imagine what would of happened if their worker fell off the tree and broke his kneck or electricuted himself or dropped the limbs on my neighbors house. I, the homeowner would be responsible. I had too much too lose to have it all taken away. I ended up choosing Ed Meza with Meza Tree Service. He was most professional and knowledgable.He was also a licensed contractor, had workers comp and liability insurance . His workers were all in uniform and superclean as well as his trucks. When my trees were done, my trees never looked better. The yard was left spotless and supercare was taken to protect my plants and lawn. His price was fair and done in a timely matter. Meza Tree Service is as good as it gets. I wish all people we work with are this good. He not only does outstanding tree work, he has also done other things for us: built a frame for our vegetable garden, put in railroad ties, fixed a bougainvillea wall that was collapsing. He can do anything. He has had a primary crew that has been with him for years. He has also done things that were to his financial disadvantage: removed a ficus tree we loved and had him trim every year, but it was tearing up our patio. He replaced it with a gorgeous Hong Kong Orchid Tree that will not need the pruning and will not tear up our patio. Once our pest inspector noted that we had powder post beetles in a tree. (Look that one up. You don't want them anywhere.) Eddie and his crew were out the next morning. Another time we had a huge branch of an old apricot tree crash in our back yard. It was Sunday and Eddie came out himself and removed it. He is our "knight in shining armor". read more

When I was growing up my parents always used Meza tree service, Eddie's grandfather and then his dad and then Eddie, my parents raved about them back then but I took it for granted cause I was a kid, then cut to decades later I own my own home and after going through several "reputable" tree/landscape services that over charged me and didn't even do good work I remembered the Meza's, so I got the number from my mom and have been using Eddie gratefully ever since. I would never even consider using anyone else actually, but I do feel the pain of the people who've been cancelled or waited awhile for call backs, me too, but that's nature, it's not an exact science, if a tree falls on a client's house Eddie will cancel you to tend to them first, or if a job encounters unforeseen obstacles that require extra time he'll finish that job before moving on, and you'll be happy when you're on that end of the deal that's for sure. His prices are so reasonable for the work they do, Eddie Meza is also extremely knowledgeable about all plants, so I always use them for all my landscaping needs. Everyone i've ever turned onto Meza tree service loves it and keeps using them and I know he's always busy and doesn't need my review, but I just wanted to leave one anyway, another way of saying, thank you Eddie for everything! read more
