These guys are excellent, trained arborists and offer a free consultation (one service wanted to charge $150 for a visit to look at a root). They were able to assess the trees and what I needed to do and provided a competitive quote. I talked with other arborists (make sure they are certified) and they were asking either for high fees for the consult or quoted exorbitant amounts to do the work. He gave a full consult on the issues with the roots, how they could spread and potentially damage walls and concrete and whether they can or should be trimmed back as well as assessed canopy trimming for two different trees. No drama anywhere!! :) We had a very tall cedar tree near a slope that had to come out, a tall palm to clean up and 5 peppers trimmed back. All got done within 4 hrs! Joe and his crew removed a large ficus tree and trimmed back a Podocarpus Tree that was hitting cable tv and telephone wires. His guys did a great job working around the wires (so far my tv phone and internet are still working). They also got rid of a bamboo tree threatening to come in contact with electrical wires. The crew was efficeient and did a good job of cleaning up. I went with Pacific Tree Care because they are a licensed and fully insured tree service. I felt a lot better using them since they were doing dangerous work very close to my neighbors property. I could have saved money using unlicensed trimmers but that is a real role of the dice for a home owner. All of Joes guys (including Joe) wore COVID masks. Called Joe the week before Christmas about trimming a large, thorny, crazy-wild palo verde tree. He came out and gave us an estimate a couple days later and wrote the amount on his card. Said they were booked through February but he might be able to fit us in sooner because it was (for him) a small job. He called us back when he said he would and came out a few days later with a 4-man crew exactly when he said he would. As he predicted, it took about one hour to do a major but appropriate cutback. He made a couple additional cuts at my request, they jammed all the cuttings in the back of two pickups and left our yard looking about the way they found it. I wrote him a check for $350--his original estimate. It doesn't get better than that. I highly recommend Pacific Tree Care. read more
