A group of ten met for dinner here. They sat us near the bar area, so both the music and the people were very loud. It was difficult to hear the person next to you and impossible to hear the person across the table. Not a good environment for a group who wants to talk. There are live plants throughout the building that are nice. Our server was not very attentive and helpful at all. Had to ask for silverware twice, one person had to wait way too long for tortillas that should have been delivered with the meal, no refills offered, had to beg for more chips...only two small baskets given for ten people.... I got a combo of two burritos, one shredded chicken and one ground beef. It came with "beans" and rice. The "beans" were the consistency of baby food. Rice was average but the burritos were drenched in a red sauce that I didn't care for at all. The chicken had the same sauce in it as well. I tried scrapping the sauce off but ended up eating very little. Very disappointed. read more

Came here after an event for a late lunch. Starting with the rating, 4 stars primarily because the attention of the waiter was too humorous to my enjoyment. I attempted to curb it and was ignored. So I would just ask that their management reviews protocol of sharing attention evenly amongst the guests at the table and also being more professional with lower acts of self comedy. The food gets the rest of the stars. It was delicious, the burrita was made to order with a few adjustments and the rice was very flavorful as well. This chain does have great ambiance at the locations I have been to and this one with the music and plenty of plants created an enjoyable experience for sure. The beverages were served cold and that helped because it was a really hot day! If we go back, I would sit at a booth and a different server. read more

Don't go if you're vegetarian/ pescatarian. I brought my fiend who is pescatarian and we let two staff members know she doesn't eat meat. She was eating the bowl she ordered and mid meal she found beef In her bowl. Even though we mentioned this, they still proceeded in giving her a bowl with beans made with pork and beef. They ended up making her a new bowl smaller bowl and gave us a free desert to try to make it up. Honestly, this didn't leave me with the best experience. This Mezcalito used to be an Applebee's, I believe. They've done a great job keeping the bones and renovating the place to fit their needs. They even have a cute to-go window, where you can order and take away without having to enter the restaurant. So cool! I came with a group of 7 people on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy! I was shocked - it was probably because of Fifa but I couldn't be certain. That being said, we were sat and attended to quickly. After we all ordered our food, it took no more than 5 to 10 minutes for it to get to us, and it all tasted fresh and delicious. I cleaned them out of chips and salsa, and also ordered their steak tacos. I just love a steak taco, and theirs was very good. Definitely worth a stop in if you're in the area! read more

We just stumbled upon this place after Dave and Busters and wow what a great impromptu dinner! The atmosphere was cute inside and outside. Felt clean and the service from Isabel was really great! She was super kind and attentive and did a great job. The food came out promptly and was soooo delicious. There isn't as much meat as other places on the fajitas but the quality of the meat was outstanding! We tried both the corn and the flour tortillas and definitely preferred the flour tortillas as the corn was too overpowering flavor wise over the fajitas. While the garnish for the Marg was beautiful!! The frozen berries was a bit disappointing because they were too hard and cold to enjoy, so it feels wasteful. Whoever does the photography on their menu needs to be acknowledged because it made me want to see everything I saw. Great experience overall and will be back. read more

They've done a great job renovating this former South of the Border location. Lots of fun margaritas, and we saw several birthday celebrations parade from the kitchen - they make celebrations a pretty big deal. We came mostly for drinks. Ordered a tower and the Mecalito sampler. The tower was a lot of fun - we got 12 margaritas out of it and it was casamigos tequila for $100. The sampler was a mix of American bar food (wings and fries) and Mexican, and the table enjoyed it. read more

Finally made it to Mezcalito in Cary. When we walked in we were automatically in awe of all of the live greenery, it made the place look so homely. It made me feel so peaceful. The menu is a bit much but when I finally made my decision on the chicken rolls, I'm glad I did! The chicken was juicy and the house made sauce put the perfect amount of spice on them. I usually don't add an adult beverage to my meals because of the ridiculous prices nowadays but since my rolls were $10.99 I thought I'd treat myself to a Bahama Mama and it was delicious. My husband had the chicken tacos and to be honest, when I saw them I wish I had ordered them as well. Next time for sure! I didn't try them but he left no crumbs so it's safe to say he loved them. The chips and salsa were probably my favorite. The chips were on the thicker side, which I love, and the salsa was not too spicy to enjoy. Definitely going back soon. read more

The food here is melt in your mouth heaven on a plate. The atmosphere is open airy bright and festive! The staff is friendly and very available especially for questions on the menu. Speaking of the menu I think you could possibly hover your finger, close your eyes and put it down anywhere in the menu and you would find that you had stumbled on something delicious! Additionally it is so obvious even if one has no knowledge of what is traditional cuisine that the food is authentic in both preparation and presentation. We chose the Trey Leche for dessert and I look forward to trying all the rest! I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant here. The menus smelt strongly of plastic and when I opened them up, gnats flew out. The gnats never went away throughout the whole meal. Our server just didn't seem interested in us at all and she put a shared app on my tab without asking who would pay or if we could split it. Once our food came out a spider crawled out from under my plate. Another male worker came up to our table and tried flirting with us and when we were walking out he did it again. It made us extremely uncomfortable. The food wasn't horrible but the whole experience made me not want to eat anything. Also my quesadilla had basically no cheese in it. Based on all the other high reviews, this must of been a fluke experience but I'm too scarred to go back lol read more

We wanted to get lunch on the way to the airport and Mezcalito was located perfectly right off of the highway before RDU. Every single man enjoyed his lunch. Enchiladas were stuffed with meat. Fajitas was sizzling and smoky. Everything was absolutely delicious. I'm from Texas so I am very familiar with good TexMex. This food was more authentically Mexican and was the best meal we had on the trip. Service was good and food came out piping hot. Ask for the spicier salsa and enjoy those freshly fried tortilla chips. It was a great end to an epic golf trip. read more

The manager sucks. One of the worst experiences I've had in a Mexican restaurant a long time. We went here tonight and had the bartender spill an entire tray of drinks on one of our friend's laps. After that instead of apologizing, we got moved to another table and saw the waiter laughing at the bar. We were told that we were gonna be comped one free beer, even though my friend ruined her entire outfit being covered in tajin. The manager came over and refused to apologize taking up for the woman who spilled the drink all over our friend (who is still wet an hour later) I live in the neighborhood and come here more than once a week but I will be taking my business down the street. It was absolutely ridiculous that I had to basically force an apology from your manager for spilling drinks on my friend and ruined her outfit . For some reason "training" is a good excuse to have a good laugh, ruin an outfit and someone's night. Not one to complain but this was some bs won't be back read more
