Great restaurant. Good service. Thursday is kids night after 5pm. $0.99 kids meals. Free face painting too. The steak fajitas they light up on front of you. Very tasty. 3 tortillas included. Fish tacos were so delicious when eaten right away. Pork belly was meh. Parking available in lot.

Tacos menu still says they have blue corn tortilla but the server told me they no longer have blue corn tortilla

I was invited back out by the manager Elijah because of the terrible experience me and my girlfriend had with the food quality during brunch last month. When we went last month we were told that the menu was changing that's why the food is tasting different but when we were invited back for dinner we found out that was not the case. We were told the head chef was out of town for a event and the kitchen took shortcuts such as buying tortilla instead of making the blue corn tortilla fresh and those shortcuts reflected on the dishes we had on our terrible experience. The head chef was there this time they showed us how they make the blue corn tortilla fresh. You can really tell he takes pride in the food he puts out cause. The food quality was a lot better than our last experience. We had the corn bread which is one of our favorite, the shrimp aquachile, carnitas taco, passion fruit chicken, pescado a la veracruzana and shrimp quesadilla. All of the food was great very well seasoned and we would order all of those dishes again. We also go their Uber flan for dessert the flan texture was perfect but it was a touch to sweet for us. Overall the whole experience was great we are glad the manager reached out to us to invite us back. We will be coming back more often.

We had an opportunity to visit A'Verde with our kids and had such a great time. The ambiance was really fun with Mexican decor and fun things to see. All the food was delicious but I had the rice bowl with some of their delicious homemade hot sauce. Our server was always on top of making sure we had everything we needed and the food came out promptly. My only concern was that we got there earlier in the evening and it was quieter, but then a cheer team came in and our kids got really distracted, and server got really busy. If you're looking for a casual place to eat, that is kid friendly and approved. Highly recommend it, next time we're on this side of town, we will definitely have this as an option high on our list.

Finally got to try this Mexican restaurant Sunday before a show at Koka Booth. Hadn't realized it's in the Crossroads part of Cary. Plenty of parking. Big building. Had no problem scoring a booth in the bar half. Service with a smile right away. Started us off with ice water while our Smoky Pineapple Mezcal drinks were being made. Both of us loved them. Not cheap. They are $15 each, but they don't skimp on the booze. Refreshing, and they went well with the chips and salsa they brought us, along with the rest of our meals. Husband really liked the chips, but not my fave as they are really thick. Just personal preference. I prefer thin chips. We were told they had some new things on the menu, but it was all new to us. I ordered Camarones A La Crema with beans and rice. Husband got the Shrimp Tacos Platter which comes with beans and rice. Favorite thing for me is they put the beans and rice next to each other! In the case of the taco platter, they're even in a bowl together. Most Mexican restaurants separate them, and I'm of the theory that they should be eaten together. They were seasoned nicely with some spices I couldn't quite put my finger on. Maybe a touch of cinnamon? As for my Shrimp dish, it was perfectly cooked, but my first reaction was where were the sauteed peppers and onions? There were a few miniscule pieces that I could barely spot. Would have loved detectable ones. But it was all tasty and I certainly polished it all off. Husband enjoyed his shrimp tacos but would have liked one more. (They serve two). Will definitely go back as there are lots of great sounding things to try!

We watched Chef Katsuji on Top Chef a few years back, so we had to try his restaurant A'Verde once we moved to Raleigh. What a fun place to celebrate 9 years of being a couple! We sat outside on the porch and they were playing some music, which we had a good time jamming to. This is such a fun place with good vibes! They started us out with (on the house) chips and salsa - I loved how the chips were warm & cut in long strips. The salsa tasted fresh, acidic, and a little spicy. The waitress recommended the cornbread with honey truffle butter, which I normally wouldn't think to order at a Mexican restaurant, but it was DELICIOUS. It was sweet and crispy with a very strong corn flavor. The honey truffle butter added moisture to the crisp cornbread - I could taste the truffle flavor when I ate the butter on its own, but not so much in a bite with the cornbread. For entrees, I got the braised pork shank and my husband got 3 tacos. The braised pork shank fell right off the bone, cooked to perfection. The sauce/pork marinade was acidic and spicy, though I wish it could have been thickened up on the plate so I could sop the pork in it. The black bean refried beans were okay - lacking a bit of salt and nothing to write home about. The shrimp taco was the best of the 3 tacos - spicy and creamy. The carne asada taco was a solid, basic steak taco. The chicken tinga taco was a bit too wet and fell apart. We love blue corn tortillas, but I wish these had more blue corn flavor and were toasted more. The service is insanely fast here, so if you want a longer meal, I recommend holding off on ordering until you want the food. The cornbread came out almost immediately after we ordered it, and the entrees took less than 10 minutes. I do love fast service though, so no complaints here

Jon the bartender is great company without a doubt. I wouldn't have known about this place unless it was for him. The setting was nice and the restaurant was beautiful. He recommended the quesadilla after a simple request and it did not fall short. I would highly recommend coming this place for the group of people. Biggest of all Manager came and asked if I was doing all right while Jon was away! Jon there is a big hit for sure so go check him out! Great drinks to!!!

We wanted to like this place but frankly, it did not meet our expectations. We know it's from a famous chef and when you see "Tequila Library," you expect a more adult establishment. When we stopped in mid-week there were a lot of families there (maybe even a birthday party?) and it just didn't fit what we were hoping for. It was noisy and distracting. If they want to be a family restaurant, that's fine. I just wouldn't highlight the adult beverages. The food was okay but not necessarily better than some other restaurants in the area. There was one interesting dish we tried and that was the ube flan. At least that was unique.

The food looked good but was bland except for the chips. The chips were delicious. The service good, food came out fast. It was relatively empty on a Sunday afternoon.

Food was very flavorful and fresh. The guacamole and salsa hit all the flavonoids! The chips were super crispy and salted. I ordered 3 tacos and was really happy with the serving size on proteins. I love that I can mix and match the tacos offered. Service really lacked here, from having to ask for silverware to long waits for requests. No drink refills. Ambience is beautiful, inside and outside. Plenty of seating for large groups and intimate corners. Face painter (for kids night) offered on Thursday's. I would highly recommend this restaurant to enjoy the authentic flavors. Would I return again because of service? Yes. I wanna try more of the menu!

The food and ambiance here is incredible. They have really good taco Tues and it's a really family friendly place with free face painting on Thursdays! Highly recommend! Kids night every Thurs night and kids eat for 99cents. Apparently every 5th of the month, starting on November 5th, they've got games like plinko, face painting, $5 Margaritas, special giveaways, a live DJ set, and dancing! "This event is FREE and open to the public. And don't forget, KID FRIENDLY." The food is really tasty and the restaurant is fun and pretty with funky decor like a phone booth full of artificial plants and a disco ball. They have a bunch of Christmas decorations around too for the holidays which includes ornaments, hanging felt llamas and cacti, as well as a Christmas tree to name a few things. Def coming back here. You gotta order the cochinita pibil and the squid ink risotto thing. Both were delicious!

We ordered a the Shrimp & Avocado Salad and Pescado a la Veracruzana as a takeout order. Someone in our group has a severe dairy and nut allergy, and these menu items had a dairy free symbol. I talked to the server about the allergy and she put an allergy note/tag on the order. We were excited to try these dishes especially as the Pescado was advertised as a signature dish. Unfortunately, the Pescado was extremely salty and nearly inedible, and the rice/beans that came with the fish were subpar, with 3 tortilla chips sticking out of the rice/beans, which was odd presentation to us, as the chips were sure to get soggy. Also unfortunately, the person in our group with an allergy had a bad reaction with hives and blisters popping up all over their face/mouth area minutes after starting. I called the restaurant staff who checked with the kitchen and they did not know what happened, but admitted they could have added dairy to the rice/beans if the person handling the side didn't see the allergy note. ????? Horrible system and very dangerous for those with allergies if the kitchen staff cannot take proper precautions even with allergy note and me checking with the staff about the dish prior. Also the person on the phone mentioned that the head chef was not in that day and would be happy to call me back the next day when he was in.... So it seems the standards and quality are down the drain whenever the head chef is not there

I could never say no to warm chips and salsa! This was my second time here and this time we came to party. A 'Verde came out with the jam box, a Celebration song and bubbles! Then when the birthday boy (man) wanted to take his birthday shot -- well that was cool too! Let's not forget my son got his octopus tacos, someone had the grouper fish tacos and I had the shrimp tacos. All came with a reasonable portion of beans and rice. No crumbs left behind. We all enjoyed our food. Service was on point. We ordered the margarita tower for the party. Huge and definitely enough for more than 6. If you like tequila, you'll be happy. Did I mention the never ending warm tortilla chips and salsa? In the words of the terminator: I'll be back!

Another Good Mexican Restaurant…read more Yet another fine place to eat in the rapidly growing Wendell Falls Parkway area. Tacos & Tequila is big, bold, bright and bubbly; and serves up a wide variety of Tex-Mex dishes. As the name would suggest, Tequila is the featured cocktail. There are many options, but our favorite is the Azul Margarita with Blue Curaçao and Smoked Salt Rim. I recommend the Tortas (much like a panini or Cuban sandwich) with Carnitas. Carnitas (Spanish for 'little meats') is roasted pork that has been liberally seasoned and shredded. The Tortas served at Tacos & Tequila are crammed full of Meat, Beans, Lettuce, Tomato, Avocado, Jalapeño, Onion and Queso Fresco - satisfying and delicious. The Street Tacos are another winner. Either flour or corn tortillas are filled with Shrimp & Red Cabbage; Carne Asada (grilled beef); Al Pastor (marinated pork similar to shawarma); Tinga (shredded meat in a tomato sauce); Molida (ground meat); Chicken or Mahi Mahi. So far we have only sampled the shrimp, and they were spot on. The Chiles Poblanos is another delicious and filling dish. The Poblano Pepper is crammed full of Tinga de Pollo (smokey, savory shredded chicken) and Oaxaca Cheese; topped with a zesty Tomato Sauce and served with Lettuce, Pico de Gallo, Sour Cream, Rice and Beans. We also enjoyed an order of Chicken Wings. Try the Mango Habanero version - a flavorful combination of sweet, fruity and spicy. We did not particularly like the Guacamole Rolls. The guacamole was OK, but it needed something else to round out the dish. The nine Combinations are real bargains. The Shredded Chicken Enchilada and Beef Burrito were flavorful, slightly spicy, and just enough for a hardy dinner.
