Went with a group of 12 so that usually means slower service but not here. The service was excellent as was the presentation but the food was just ok. I got the steak fajitas and I didn't enjoy the flavor of the steak or the refried beans BUT I tasted my sister's octopus dish and it was cooked to perfection. My favorite place! I live about 5 minutes away so I'm obviously a bit biased in that regard, butttttttt it is great! The food is so good and fresh. The price is also great for the amount and quality of food that you get. I love the Fiesta Salad. The dip sampler as well as the chorizo dip are definite must-try apps. The nachos are great as well. They have an assortment of all of the things Mexican cuisine. The food is more Tex-Mex though so be mindful of that. Now to what this place is known for...THE DRINKS!! The drinks are spectacular and one-of-a-kind for the area for sure. More drinks than you can imagine. The Skinny Guava is my favorite. Most of the drinks are a little sweeter than I would like, but they are good and strong (but don't taste strong). Also, get a tower if you have the group and the funds. It's cool and there's a lotttt in there, more than it looks. It can be extremely busy during dinner and during lunch/dinner on weekends. They don't do reservations or call-ahead seating, but will text you when your table is ready. There's not a waiting area so you can either explore the Goodwill next door or sit in your car to wait for your table if there is a wait. For takeout orders, there is a window on the side of the building to quickly and easily pick up your order without having to go inside. The only downside can be the flies, especially during the warm months. The drinks have a lot of fresh fruit which obviously can bring even more than the regular amount of flies. The windows are garage doors that are open most of the time during the warmer times so that also brings more flies inside. They're not awful, but you should be warned they are there. This was the WORSE Mexican food experience I've had in my entire life. To start off I ordered to go, I had my family over for a holiday party. I arrived at the restaurant the lady managing the Togo section was very nice. The experience went down hill from there. The food was cold, and it was DISGUSTING. The rice was covered in butter and that's the only thing you could taste, mind you this is Mexican rice. The shrimp has no flavor whatsoever. We ordered queso and we go graded cheese. The cake tastes like cornbread with condensed milk drizzled on top. On top of that we ordered a cheese quesadilla for my niece who does not eat meat, and it had not only chicken but steak in there too. I called up there and spoke with Axel who ensured that he would give us a refund for our bad experience. He said he would call be in 30 mins to confirm. He never called back. I called the next day to see why I didn't receive a call back and again another manager said for us to call when Axel was back. I called Tuesday which was the day he said he would be in. He was in fact in and the receptionist told me he was on a break and he would call me back at 4:30 that day. Mind you, this all happened on a Saturday. Of course 4:30 came around and I did not receive a call. This is extremely unacceptable. I was thoroughly disappointed with my experience and I will NEVER be back and I will encourage others to not come here as well. This is a new mexican restaurant in Clayton, NC. We were very impressed with the entire experience! We visited for lunch on a busy afternoon, they have indoor and a nice group of outdoor tables. The building is new and clean. We had the barrio quesadilla, the agave-chipotle chicken tacos and started with some loaded fries and the expected chips and salsa Chips were thick and flavorful. The table salsa was great, you can take the cilantro. The tacos were awesome, came with rice and beans. The tacos had a layer of chorizo, chipotle chicken and Pico/cheese on top. We love the food and service here, but we don't like to go here anymore because of the very LOUD, cold obnoxious banging that accompanies loud music every time someone celebrates a birthday! They would be a 5 star in my opinion if they would simply turn down the deafening noise a couple notches. It would make for a much better atmosphere where guests can actually hear one another talking to each other. Mexican music is nice to have as background, but not at the level they have it. Many voices agree with me on this, and I am hoping they will listen to their customers. I, and many others would love to return here, if they would make these very important changes. We surprised my friends for her birthday here. It was amazing. Their new outdoor area is a great addition. The food came out fast and was delicious as always. The service was great.
