We have visited Mexico several times as well as eaten at many Mexican restaurants. The tamales was top notch! I had rhe dirty fries. They were super good too! Nice atmosphere which is larger than it looks from outside. The service is pretty good with sluggish periods. The top shelf margarita was reasonably priced and packed some punch. We like the bean dip accompanying the chips and salsa. We ordered the table side guacamole 5/5 (unfortunately we ran out of chips and couldn't get more see aforementioned sluggish periods), chicken fajitas 4/5, and bone marrow 4/5. We went here for dinner the day we arrived in Poulsbo. I was really in the mood for Mexican since it had been a week since my last indulgence. The ambiance is attractive and we were immediately greeted and seated upon our arrival. There is a private lot. I started with an exotic drink with mezcal and fresh blackberries since this is blackberry country. I forget the name but it is on the picture. It was delicious. The wife had Passion Fruit and it was also delicious. For entrees, the wife had chicken mole and did not care for it. The chicken was bone-in which is normally fine, but she did not care for this chicken. The mole was very spicy. There is a difference between flavorful with a kick or slow burn, but this was overtly spicy. She did not eat much and did not take it home. I had an exotic dish which I don't remember the name but it was essentially a chicken stew served in mortar bowl. Rice and black beans came on the side, but I added them to the stew to make it thicker. It was delicious. Very flavorful with a slow burn. If the review were based on this dish alone, it would be 5 stars. Our server was attentive and helpful. I liked the vibe and food more than the wife did, We are in Poulsbo only a couple of days so we probably won't return, but if we were here longer I would lobby for a return. read more

Let's start with the good. The staff are very attentive and friendly. I give them 5 stars! Even though I sat at the bar I had several staff keep asking if I needed anything. This was their first Taco Tuesday and happy hour combination. The drinks were cold and great! The decor was clean and very nice. The bad! The tacos had a strange flavor. I tried the ground beef and fajita chicken. So that food unfortunately gets 3 stars but the manager was very receptive to my comments and said he would discuss with the kitchen staff. Over all it was a good experience and would be willing to try again once they sort out their growing pains. read more

Pros: Service was good. Very kind and attentive staff. Spoke Spanish with us. Came here with a big group on weeknight (12!) and they were very accommodating. Parking is easy in a parking lot out front. Food was pretty average, 3/5. Chips and salsa were good and came with refried frijoles to dip 4.5/5. Entrees were large and overall fine but didn't knock your socks off which is where the rating mainly comes from. Rice and beans were fine but the proteins were a bit flavorless. We asked for a habanero sauce. The chicken verde enchilada was okay, the flavor was just a bit off. The fajitas for two were giant portions. Margaritas were too sweet and not very strong. read more

I ordered rib-eye tacos that came with black beans and rice. The black beans and rice were good. The tortilla for the tacos was good for they make them there. The rob-eye did not have any flavor. Stopped by what was Los Cabo's for the first time this dreary Sunday afternoon. From my recollection the interior is virtually unchanged. We were greeted promptly and offered seating in the bar or restaurant; bar on the left restaurant on the right. Being on the dry January program we opted for the no temptation latter. We joined a room of happy families enjoying lunch and conversation. I love the site of happy families with well behaved children and I wasn't disappointed I was delighted! Service and food is good the menu variety is excellent. I ordered the Pollo Blanco. My wife, the Taco Salad with Pollo. These are LARGE portions so don't eat all the tortillas and refried beans and salsa which will be brought to the table while you wait for your meals. Both dishes arrived quickly and they were hot and tasty! Being that I am a Thai 5 star plus kinda guy; my tastes run more to spicy TexMex style so my taste buds were disappointed. We actually ate at the new location in downtown Bremerton. The new interior is really nice and comfortable. Friendly wait staff and good service. The food was really good. WARNING: if you're a lightweight like me with alcohol, DO NOT get the top shelf margarita unless you have a DD with you, another safe way home, or time to sober up!!!! First, the food here is AMAZING. Every single thing was excellent. The service was excellent. Location and parking were excellent. I will absolutely be back. HOWEVER... this review needs to focus on their margaritas. I don't know what kind of magic they put in those things, but 1/3 of the way through the top self marg and I couldn't feel my face or limbs. I even slurred to the server "hoooww mannyyy shotsss diid youuuu puttt in herreee maaaa'aaam??". Her reply? "Two". By the time I had finished my drink, I could hardly walk out to our car and by the time we made it to our house a few blocks away, I was a limp noodle that needed help crawling into the house by my husband. Now, I enjoy alcohol. I don't drink all the time, but I enjoy drinks several times a week. Never in my life have I been so absolutely trashed by a beverage. If I hadn't had my husband with me, I wouldn't have been able to leave the restaurant safely. I love this restaurant. I discovered it very recently but really appreciate the ambiance, flavors, and service. I've had their Mexican egg rolls, enchiladas, pozole, and Molcajete. I am a fan of the molcajete but it was a teeny bit too salty and the lunch option wasn't enough food, honestly. I liked the enchiladas a lot. They were the enchiladas with verde sauce. Not a fan of the egg rolls or the pozole. I found the posole didn't have enough flavor and was a bit oily, which I did not expect. And it didn't have all of the proper extras that I like the top my pozole with. I dined in once and it was great. And I had a curbside pickup and it was fantastic. Each time the servers were absolutely amazing. They make their beverages look and sound really good. I haven't tried any yet but I will in the future. I do recommend this place. read more

I've eaten here many times over the years. I've taken family there. The last time was one year ago. I arrived at 7 pm on a weeknight. I waited to be seated. Several servers passed by, but no one offered to seat me. No problem. They were busy. I spied a booth on the north wall, but it had yet to be cleared and cleaned. I was finally seated in a booth with a burned out light bulb above the table. I was handed a menu, and saw that it had changed. I looked for the enchiladas suiza, but had to use the flashlight on my phone. I finally decided this was bulls***. I left, and went down the street to Isla Bonita. It had a nice atmosphere, but the food was lousy. All in all, a complete train wreck. I'll do a separate review of Isla Bonita. read more

Mezcalitos is likely well known by locals, but given its location, is just as likely overlooked by visitors. The staff were both friendly and very attentive to the needs of all their patrons, not just me. Guests are started with tortilla chips, excellent red salsa, and a pinto bean dip. I had the smoky margarita, which was very good. I also tried the scallop tostadaditas, which is the only reason that I gave the restaurant a 4-star review. I wish yelp allowed you to give incremental stars as this review really should be a 4.5-star review. The "little tostadas" were decent. The scallops were cooked fairly well, and I liked the caper cream sauce. In my humble opinion, however the little tostada was not the right vehicle for this dish, it was clunky and hard to eat. I might try my version of this dish which will either transform it into a street taco or an elegant taquito. That being said, don't misinterpret my review, Mezcalitos is absolutely worth going for lunch or dinner! read more

Sought this place out as the reviews for the menudo were outstanding. My youngest son said the menudo was pretty good. I had the quesa birria tacos and was not disappointed. My oldest son had the quesadilla and he basically ate them all--which is a compliment because he will not hesitate to leave a full plate behind if it was "junk". I forgot what my husband ordered, but it didn't last long. The service was impeccable. Lovely ladies throughout. I walked over to the bar and enjoyed the taller-than-me Corona bottle piñata! This restaurant looked like a great place to hang out, is very much family friendly, and easy to get to. We popped into this place on a Saturday afternoon to get lunch and it was not crowded at all. We sat ourselves in the bar area and our server came to help us immediately. We were impressed by her service, recommendations, the restaurant's presentation and cleanliness. Their regular prices may seem high for some but we felt the portion size l was comparable to the price. get the queso Its clear their ingredients are fresh and they care about flavor. The service at the front door was friendly and helpful. The ambiance is kind of dark and moody but big windows so on a sunny day in sure it's much brighter, the music is on "loud" but it honestly helps with the noise of the guests and the bar area. The bar area is large and inviting, tons of screens for sporting events as well. The FOOD IS INCREDIBLE! Quite large portions plenty to share or take home leftovers. The food is all flavored and seasoned properly, lots of flavor in even the refried beans. They do have a best party room that can be reserved as well, would be great for a birthday party with friends. Will absolutely keep coming back with this level of flavor and friendliness from everything and everyone. They have an amazing happy hour from 3-6pm in the bar. $1.50 tacos (3 meats to choose from), $2.50 double tacos, and $3 street tacos! Their house marg is $7! Second time ordering their queso dip and it really is delicious. However I also ordered tortilla soup which I wasn't impressed with and taquitos. When I got home I was disappointed to find that my taquitos were more like a burrito cut into pieces and I definitely wouldn't consider them deep fried.
