If you're familiar with Mezeh, you know the food is good quality. This Mezeh is what you expect food quality wise, and the ambiance is what you would expect also. The difference here is the price! This has to be the most expensive Mezeh I've ever been to. Like it's a Mezeh based out of Los Angeles. I don't know why there's a luxury tax here, but there is. You've been advised!

I was first introduced to Mezeh at a Yelp Elite event at the grand opening of the Bowie location last year. While the bowl I created was good I remember making a mental note for future that more is not always better! I literally added every single topping because the wide array of delectable Mediterranean options was just to hard to choose from. Admittedly my hearty bowl had wayyy to much happening even for my "eclectic" palette... I tend to go with works, which once in a blue blue moon simply does not work for me!lol I was surprised to see if pop up as a new option on UberEats in my neighborhood. Remembering my previous experience I opted to kept it simple, not simple enough to go with the pre fixed meals, by creating my own while not being too creative. 1st you choose a base i.e; kale, spinach, or rice 2nd you select a protein, then up to 4 toppings, lastly ending with a sauce. I must say that this was the freshest, most colorful bowl that I've ever consumed! Mmm mmm good! I am super excited create only bowl with different fresh ingredients!

On 8/18/2021 I went back to Mezeh. I stood inline to check and see if they had any eggplant before ordering, they did, so I ordered. My order was finished by Steve who playfully called me out by saying, "I remember you from the other day, you walked out when we didn't have any eggplant." I burst out laughing. We joked about the situation, he was jovial and very accommodating. I must've been hangry that day. My interaction with Steve, the fact they had eggplant and that my bowl was excellent that day is why I've decided to update my rating. Thanks Steve!

Period…read more I've been seeing this place all over social media, so when I found myself in the area, I had to see what the hype was about. First off, parking is easy. It's in a shopping center, so nothing stressful there, and the restaurant itself is easy to spot. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was how clean, polished, and classy everything looked. Even though it was busy, it didn't feel chaotic. The staff immediately greeted me and asked if it was my first time which I appreciated. They didn't just rush me through the line; they actually took time to explain the menu, how the bowls are built, and offered samples. That alone made the experience feel welcoming and intentional. Now let's get into the FOOD. Everything looked fresh. They have about four rice options (which is already a win), and I went with the pineapple coconut rice. For my protein, I chose grilled chicken, but they also offer shrimp, salmon, and even a mushroom option for vegetarians and honestly, the mushrooms looked so good I almost switched. For my added sides, I kept it simple because I really wanted to taste everything. Collard greens and sweet potatoes. But they also had plantains, and okra....real deal soul food options. Then you get into the fresh toppings. Slaws, carrots, pickled veggies. I kept it light. I finished my bowl with collard green pesto (which intrigued me, and I'm glad I tried it) and added an étouffée sauce over my rice... and listen!!!!! That combo? Chef's kiss. I grabbed a tropical punch juice, and just like everything else, it tasted fresh and well-made. Let me say this clearly: the food is a 10/10. If you're someone who will give Chipotle chance after chance, then you absolutely owe it to yourself to try Spice Black. 10/10. Worth your money. Worth the hype. Worth the experience.

The restaurant is nicely decorated with vibrant colors and very clean. The service is friendly and welcoming. The food was okay. Not bad and just good in my opinion. Its not rave worthy but its still good. I would come back and try other options. This is still a good healthier option oppose to the many of terrible choices we have to choose from, this beats most unhealthy fast foods restaurants. For that reason I would return to try other food options. If you like chickpeas then this is your meal, Im not so it threw off the salad to me. I would have preferred chicken. Honestly, everything came together nicely as one salad, nothing was over powering. I'm just not a fan of chickpeas. They do have an option for shrimp but dont eat bottom feeders so that wasn't an option for me. My tastebuds are much different from yours so I would still give it a try. You might like it a little more than me. Its still a fairly good meal.

They do a lot of carry out business but the dumplings are so much better if dining in and fresh out of the kitchen. We were informed that our food would come out as it was ready. This worked fine for us. Absolutely no complaints. Cucumber salad and edamame were excellent sides to enjoy while we waited for longer menu items to come out. Forgot to take photo of the Mongolian beef so photo is just of my tasting. Dumplings were amazing. Daughter pulled up video of how to eat soup dumplings while we waited. The spoons were smaller than the dumplings but I found I could suck the soup from the top of the dumpling before biting into it which helped avoid losing the broth (careful, they are served HOT temperature-wise) Loved the truffle dumplings. I have also had the sampler which I recommend if you are new to the place (1 each of 6 different soup dumplings). The green beans and kimchi chicken dumplings were seasoned nicely and were enjoyed by all as well. Service was super. I have already been back twice, once for carrot and again for dine-in. Fine in preferred especially if getting dumplings. Only downside was parking which the restaurant can't change. Oh, be aware that their online presence mentions being in the bustling Bowie Town center... it is not but definitely should consider it as their next location! (Please????!!!!)

I did not partake in the fine in experience though the customers seemed very pleased with the atmosphere and service rendered. I ordered the pork dumplings and spicy green pepper w/beef over white rice. Both were quite tasty. Now after doing some research the soup dumpling (xiaolongbao) is what I was expecting. No worries though because the other dumplings were also good. The pepper bowl was well balanced, tender, flavorful, filling, and seasoned. Next time I'm going to opt for the Ugly rice bowl upgrade. I was informed it has extra spices and seasoning while would enhance this dish even further. The food prep time wasn't too long or too short allowing for the appreciation of made to order. Overall for a carry out experience 4 of 5. If you're in the area please give them a try and partake in the fine in experience.

The buffet didn't disappoint with everything from the omelette station, carving station (roast beef and turkey), pasta, jambalaya, fried chicken and all the breakfast favorites. The restaurant is very spacious with lots of levels that are 2-3 steps up or down. Be careful to catch them all and not stumble. The service was my star deduction. The wait was 1.5 hours (added our names remotely) but upon arrival there seemed to be confusion. A server never came to take drink orders or provide silverware. We even got our first plates with nothing then had to ask the manager. She had someone come by but it was strange for such a busy day to forget us or not have assigned servers. Overall, the food was inconsistent. Some things were bland and others seasoned very well. The turkey sausage was mid and grits had no flavor - cheese grits at that.
