But they overwhelmed my bowl (to be clear, I didn't order them & wouldn't touch a jar with a 10 foot pole). Neither of us had hummus , oddly enough. And no tabouleh (I can eat my weight in both). One of our regular family favorites. The service is always good- surprisingly nice people, always smiling, generous with portions. The food is healthy, the price is good, and you get as much as you can physically tower above your bowl. There is a lot of variety in toppings and you can ask for double of anything (except the meat, of course). I always ask for double feta and olives. So if you don't get enough of a scoop, don't worry, ask for another. You can get as much sauce as you want too. I always need at least 2 containers. One isn't enough for the whole bowl. I actually think the sauces are kind of boring, if I had a critique, it would be that. I also think they use canola oil or something instead of EVOO pure olive oil in the vinaigrettes. Some of them have a funny aftertaste. But that's not enough to deter me. The bowls are huge and make two meals for me. I love this place, and I could easily eat here once a week. read more

As a member of the generation that raised millennials, I can assure you, Mr. MBA, that it is not cool. By not posting the menu in the store, you have imposed a large and unnecessary inconvenience onto a significant portion of your potential customers. We first ate here about 9 months ago. We liked it so I ate there a several more times over the next months. It is not as good as Yafo. Although Mezeh does have more toppings, it has far fewer actual menu items compared to Yafo, and the flavor is not as good. The last time I went in person, we saw a cockroach making itself at home, crawling on the tables, chairs, and floor. I gave it a pass since we were sitting close to a door; maybe it had just crawled in from the outside. Yesterday, I placed an order (4 meals) via UberEats--a day in advance--so that we would have lunch ready immediately after a meeting today. Minutes before the order was to be picked up, I got a message from UberEats saying that Mezeh had cancelled the order because they were too busy. Again, I placed the order a day in advance. It's not like I dropped a huge order on them at the last minute; they had all day to prepare for my simple order for 4. So now, having not eaten breakfast, I am starving and left scrambling to find another lunch delivery option. Why put your restaurant on UberEats if you can't fulfill an order placed a full day in advance? (Postscript: I see their health score has fallen precipitously, so I now have to wonder if that roach crawling around the restaurant last time was a one-time anomaly or the normal course of events.) read more

I'm sorry, I really am. I recognize Covid is wreaking havoc on businesses and in many cases their operations and quality. But in full disclosure, I just had an awful carryout meal from Mezeh tonight. My wife, daughter, and I each got a bowl. We each had slightly varying combinations of spinach, kale, tomatoes, veggie kefta, couscous, caramelized eggplant, carrots, Turkish salad, hummus, and pita bread. To keep it simple, it just really didn't taste good, especially the kefta! No good! To add insult to injury, I've had a terrible stomach ache for the past 3 hours and have been popping tums like they're candy. I know they recently opened so maybe this was just an anomaly but there is absolutely zero chance we return. For the record, I'm a huge fan of Yafo and have never had a bad meal there in my 20 or so times I've eaten there or grabbed take out. read more

My daughter and tried for the first time over the weekend and really enjoyed our lunch. Felt a little rushed through the line and we were the only ones getting food at that time. I wanted to try the falafel and there were only 2 left so I also opted for the chicken kabob. I was charged for two proteins. Still very good. My daughter wanted a pita again today for lunch and my husband ordered online for pick up. We are very disappointed in the customer service so far. He went to the counter and was ignored, literally the man at the register walked away, as my husband was asking about the to go order. He called out to others behind the counter and finally someone told him the pick up orders were placed in boxed area not easily marked or for someone new to the restaurant to find. We love Mezeh! It's similar to the concept at Yafo but the food is a thousand times better. It has a "homemade" taste to it. We typically get the family pack with chicken or shredded lamb and rice. I think we've had all of the sides and our favorites are roasted corn and the tomato salad. I know new restaurants often struggle with consistency but we've never had a bad meal here. My wife and I have tried Mezeh twice since they opened, and they met be our go to fast casual Mediterranean restaurant from now on. We've tried bowls with chicken shawarma, steak shawarma, and shredded lamb. All of them were excellent! The chicken was slightly spicy which I loved. Very good flavor and very moist. The lamb was also moist and tasty without the heat. My wife had the steak and said it was tender and had good flavor. Mezeh truly shines in their variety and quality of their toppings. So many great flavors. The shining star for we was the baba ganoush which was smokier than most and absolutely delicious. The drinks were also unique and refreshing. The price point seems to be similar if not slightly cheaper than Cava and Yafo. They don't have the rotisserie chicken or sides that Yafo has, so, if that's what you want, you'll have to go to Yafo instead. For a bowl, this place stands head and shoulders above the rest! read more

Mezeh is very, very meh. We called ahead with a curbside order, but it wasn't ready when we arrived. We called the restaurant to let them know we were there and saw an employee forward us to messages. We called again to let them know we had arrived and another employee picked up and said, "Mezeh Strawberry Hill. We're very busy right now." He let us know that he was working on 22 orders at the moment. Um, that should have been a red flag, as we did not even ask why they were taking so long, but we politely waited. The gentlemen who brought us our food was very kind and apologetic. As for the food itself, we ordered just about everything on the menu and none of it measured up to Je Kabab in Matthews, Yafo, or Cava. Some items we ordered, like rice, were curiously missing, but other items we ordered were accidentally doubled. There was no pita bread. Overall, none of the flavors went together and we have a lot of leftovers that no one, including my "not picky" husband wants to eat. My kids absolutely did not like anything we ordered. read more
