Love this place. It's like a Korean Chipotle, but doesn't suck like Chipotle. Staff is always friendly and patient. I've spoken with the manager a few times to praise his staff and the freshness/quality of the ingredients and he's always been a super nice guy in my dealings. Portions are generous, I like to get a split base of the noodles and the purple rice. Bulgogi is a must try. There's a couple little things that annoy me, like the fact that you have to pay extra for the pineapple if you want it, and they got rid of the spicy chickpeas. Passion fruit lemonade is bomb, definitely my favorite of all the drinks they offer. And you can get miso soup for free when you buy a bowl, if that's your jam. My gf is vegan and there's enough here for her to make a diverse bowl, too. We love this place. We typically buy two bowls and a share drink (free refills) and the total is around 30 bucks. I'm surprised this place has so many good reviews! As a Korean American, I can say that the bibimbap is not authentic at all-- and as an Americanized version of it it's not good either. (SeoulSpice is another franchise that sells gluten free bibimbap in a more Americanized version and it's fresh and delicious!). The bowl I got did not taste that good. Specifically, the chicken is dry and lacking flavor. The sauces (sesame ginger and the yum yum sauce) didn't compliment the food well either. It tasted like artificial fast food salad sauces instead of having true Asian flavors. The different ingredients in general didn't mesh well, as they all have an interesting additional flavor. (Like the kale has a weirdly sweet tartness to it that doesn't match Korean bibimbap flavors). I would not go again! That said, the service was great! This is my new go to spot. Everything is processed to a certain extent here in America but I feel at least it's the lesser of two evils and better than eating fried food from the carry out or greasy food from the fast food local drive through. The portions are decent and it's enough to make 2 meals or split with a friend. The service is good and I always tip at least 15 percent. The only bad thing about here is the free miso soup usually isn't fresh since it sits out all day and it's super salty. Not to mention that the mall decided recently to be even more capitalistic and CHARGE TO PARK in the front spots so it's even harder to find parking here. It was my first time trying BIBIBOP Asian grill in Columbia. It's a healthier version of Chipotle but Asian flavors. They do bowls and I ordered the Miso Glazed Salmon with white rice, eggs, pickled red onions, cucumber, kimchi, avocado, corn, sesame oil, and yum yum sauce. Let me first say the food establishment was very clean. It wasn't crowded at all and I had entered about 430pm. Service was great, fast and efficient. For downloading the app I got a reward of a free drink. The pineapple passionfruit lemonade was delicious. I tried the salmon by itself before I mixed up everything and that miso glazed salmon tasted really good and once I combined it all, I really loved the taste of my bowl. I would've probably gotten some other toppings, but I catered the bowl to my son's taste. I'll definitely try them another time and see what the chicken taste like. read more

BLUF - located in the mall by lululemon, BIBIBOP is in my opinion one of the best places to get a delicious, healthy, meal in the shopping area. What is it - it's kind of like a CAVA, but with Korean-style toppings. You start off with a base (rice, noodles, or greens), then a protein (korean-style meat or tofu), and add a bunch of toppings (not as many topping options as a mediterranean place). I find it reasonably priced and tasty. They also have complimentary miso soup for your order. I wouldn't say it's the best korean food available, but I say that in the same light as how I wouldn't say CAVA isn't the best mediterranean. I don't think it's designed to be and I think they do a great job offering a delicious, accessible meal. The service is normally very nice (I've never had a bad experience in the number of times I've been there). As far as the ambiance goes, it's normally pretty quiet in there (it's sad to see them not get the attention I think they deserve). I've never gotten around to my most common restaurant I've been to at Columbia Mall, Bibibop! The catalyst to writing this was Nora's in the food court refusing free water after being a paying customer (they will get a 1-star review as well Chop Chop Salad for the same reason in July 2022). As for Bibibop, I've been coming here for years. The bowls are always tasty. The staff is relatively friendly or at least cordial. They have various types of bases you get like purple rice, noodles, salad, etc. and then a protein. I used to get the steak when it was only a 90 cent differential between steak & chicken, but now it's a $2 differential, so I've switched to the chicken, which is great too. They just added avocado as a $1.50 upgrade, which hit the spot today. Their rewards program is decent too; in fact tonight I used a $5 off. I look forward to continuing to be a Bibibop customer. read more

We've always enjoyed Bibibop in Columbia -- really fresh vegetables, yam noodles, lots of choices, interesting sauces, good prices and quick friendly service. But it's even better now with new options including curried chickpeas, ginger miso salmon, pickled red onions, avocado, etc. The ambience is fast food basic but every time we've been there it's been impeccably clean and the music hasn't been too loud. After attending a Yelp Event, we were given Free Bowl coupons; honestly, I don't think we would have ended up here any other way, as the 'diy food' market is saturated and we already have so many favorites (Chipotle, Cava, Modern Market). True to any DIY place, it's all about the unique sauces. I opted for the cucumber wasabi and korean red. It was nice to try the sauces from their self-service table, this made it easier to explore a range of flavors! I enjoyed the lighter, healthier appeal of my bowl overall. I built two different bowls, one with salad as the base and chicken and the other with japchae sweet potato noodles and steak. I was worried the noodles were going to be cold, but they actually come hot and were super tasty. That was my favorite of the two bowls, especially since the salad bowl was on the 'colder' side with some more room temp toppings. The steak packed really good flavor as well. I went with it because it was the only hot option, but I prefer my spicy sauce to also be salty. I'm more of a soy sauce with cayenne pepper kind of person. I went by the sauce bar to see if I could create something like that, but was disappointed to find no soy sauce at all. What kind of place is this where sriracha is my only option for hot???
