I live at Crown and have tried all of restaurants here and this is by far my favorite food. It's super healthy, full of flavor, fresh taste, good and clean service and the best drinks. William, the manager is super friendly and even waited on me to download the Mezeh app so I could get $3 bucks off the meal. I've been here a few times, my favorite is the mixed bowl with kale and brown rice, falafel, cilantro hummus, caramelized eggplant, tabouleh, their yogurt sauce and Tahiti all down with a cucumber mint drink. I saw this first at a mall food court somewhere (Wheaton?) and they were passing out samples of something but I didn't try it. So when one opened up in the Crown area of Gaithersburg, I was just a little curious how something which seemed so at home in a mall food-court would operate as a stand-alone. It seemed to operate just the same as it would at a mall. The first thing i noticed was it was pretty much chaos. It had been opened for a few weeks by the time I braved it, so I thought most of the bugs would be worked out. Well...it was still very much in beta mode. This is another one of the customizable bowl shops, with a Mediterranean flavor. It's sort of pan-mediterranean, which may be over-reaching a little. I felt as if it was overwhelming with the amount of options, some of which just wouldn't go as well together. Places like Chipotle or Cava have menus that you could throw together anything or even everything and still have flavor profiles tie together through the entire dish. Here, it seems easy to mess that up. Going down the line, the order of ingredients didn't make sense. They had toppings near the front with bases, proteins kind of scattered. So there was some degree of people walking back and forth behind the counter when a customer was reading off the menu what they wanted. Also, because of the confusions, two peoples orders were messes up while I was there. That just shouldn't happen at a place like this, and it seldomly does. With so many other options similar to Mezeh here, it's hard to find a compelling reasons why you would choose this over say Cava. There was nothing that set this apart from the rest. read more

Here are recommendations/suggestions If you're not a huge eater, you could probably split a bowl in two meals or share with a partner Cilantro hummus keeps your bites creamy, and adds a bit of saltiness with the mixed in feta cheese if you're really hungry, ask for two scoops of couscous, a relatively filling pasta. If you're not a picky eater, the eggplant caponata is pretty meaty and adds a delicate sweetness to your plate If you're curious about the sauces, ask to put it in a cup rather than directly in your meal. Tzatziki can cleanse a palate, harissa adds a powerful spiciness (that I love), Greek feta is has a light savory taste. The chocolate chip cookies are surprisingly amazing - get it straight out of the oven and I'd bet it's one of the best cookies you'll ever eat read more

I selected Mezeh to cater my division's holiday lunch for 104 people. They were terrific! Many of the party participants said they were amazed at how splendid the selections were (with 2 grains, greens, 3 proteins, 8 sides, and 4 sauces, and pita) and how wonderful the food tasted. There was also enough of everything to last through the end of the event. All leftovers were consumed or taken home by staff soon afterward! Also, the catering manager (Victor) was easy to work with over the phone & email. The caterers (Stella and a guy whose name I did not catch) arrived on time and were also nice to work with. If I am organizing next year's holiday party I'll definitely choose Mezeh again! read more

Consistently good for a quick lunch with easy online ordering! The food is fresh, portions are pretty large, and there is a large selection of bases (even caulifower rice) and sauces. Spicy lovers can enjoy the chicken and steak shawarma, and even add shug sauce. The falafel is pretty good, my husband loves it though I prefer others. Long over due review. I've been going to this amazing grill for over one year. All of the good is tasty flavored perfectly and they don't charge extra for veggies, just extra for a second protein. This place is awesome. As others have said, Chipotle style fast causal with lots of flavorful and filling topping to choose from. Also like chipotle, if you ask for more of something, they give it to you and don't charge extra, unlike cava! I have had the steak and chicken which are both more tender and flavorful than cava. The toppings are excellent, especially the tabouli and hummus. The tzatziki, harissa, and S'hug sauces are also a must get, and actually spicy! All in all this place kills it. read more

This place is just like cava down to the four specialty juices/teas. Instead of crazy feta, they have s flight milder mezeh spicy feta. They do have boylan sodas on tap and some very nice outdoor seating. Tho I only saw a diet coke type of drink in the fountain. No diet caffeine few anything. Since the restaurant is on a corner of crown, there's a lot of Windows. Seating is good with a bunch of low and one high long table. I have to say it's really hard to tell the two apart, but cava is crazy loud at lunch (reverb and echoey). While this place appears to be calmer and more conducive for conversation. read more

But today I order my normal salad from mezeh thru uber eats & some employees decided that is was the right thing to do by sending a salad thru uber eats with the dressing on the salad!! No one has been able to take accountability or responsibility to make my order correct! No refund! No remake! No resend! Someone @ mezeh knew that it was the wrong thing to do by sending a salad out with the dressing on & instead of correcting the problem before it even left the restaurant, they decided to put it in a bag with napkins & a fork & send a soggy wet nasty salad!! When this restaurant first open, it was great. The service was great and the ambiance was cool. While the food and ambiance are still great, the service is "trash", which is unfortunate because I live in this town center and its so convenient. However, I will no longer be giving them my money. For the past year or so, I've walked into this establishment and have treated as if I don't exist. For the past year, I have had to wait 10-15 minutes for any employee to acknowledge me and take my order while being the only person in line. Moreover, they're extremely rude and unenthused, as if it hurts them to do their job. And if you think 10-15 minutes is not a long time, I challenge you to put 10 to 15 minutes on your watch right now, and imagine no one addressing you until after those minutes have passed. I tried it for the first time and it seemed like it was similar to CAVA. However, Mezeh had more interesting toppings to add (variety of salads). It also has two chicken meat and I fell in love with the chicken Kebab. The only thing I was confused was that I was charged for a mix bowl when I didn't get any of the greens.. but maybe the cherry tomatoes count towards the mix bowl? Ahahahmazing!! Went in with the expectation that it was going to be another average create your own assemble line restaurant but I was BLOWN AWAY! Had the rice bowl w/ steak, spicy hummus, caramelized eggplant, pita strips, couscous, pickled onions, feta, and greek feta dressing -- ended up being the perfect combination of flavor and texture. Reasonably priced as well -- meal for two for me and the girlfriend was ~$21 (w/ baklava!) Gives Chipotle a run for its money as my favorite fast-casual spot. IMHO I rate it higher than its counterpart Cave Mezze Grill in the K-Lands and will absolutely go back here again. read more

My fiancè and I were huge fans of Mezeh but we noticed their take out containers have gotten shallow. We were still hungry after our bowls. SUCH a phenomenal gem; first time here, staff were very friendly, knowledgeable on their food items, and very detailed in explaining everything. I do not usually indulge in spots that's chipotle and Cava base (line of itemized foods) but this place is my FAVORITE. I had the rice bowl and of course, they have white and brown rice, different proteins (chicken cutlets, chicken and Bee shawarma) and I must say that this is BY far the best shawarma I've had. Reason for not Being a fan of shawarma before this visit, was due to always having the meats undercooked, with to much fat, very bland, and usually tasteless as if it were frozen. Huge fan of how everything tasted and turned out. Ingredients, produce, and sauces were very fresh, in addition to having the best pita bread in a while. Not your usual toppings place, as they had items such as "Israeli Couscous" even though they might consider changing that name (seeing how they adopted EVERYTHING from the Arabs, haha) beets, great turnips, radishes, amongst others, and the area is so up and Coming; location is prime, that offers indoors and outdoors seating. You have gained not only my business, but everyone I know that swears by Cava, and that's not an easy task, as I am quite a complex person. Great job guys! read more

I ordered a small Mezze platter for the family and it was awesome. It says it serves 8 but there was enough food for twelve meals. The way the food was packaged, with the two selected meats, eight toppings and four sauces as well as pita bread and chips all carefully packaged separately with serving utensils, was great. The food was hot when we got it home and we were able to set up a wonderful buffet like they have in the store. Everything was simple, easy and the food was delicious. We've been coming here every Friday for months. Usually, they're super helpful and generous with their servings. Today, they were out of many toppings and bases and were really skimping on their scoops. I asked for three toppings they didn't have, so I asked for extra hummus and the lady assembling my bowl gave me snark for asking for more of something. Then, she gave me the wrong dressing. When we paid, the rewards app wasn't working, so I paid via Apple Pay. As we walked away, they called us back to say it didn't go through. I had been charged $0.07 instead of the total. She called her manager or colleague who has me pay again... this time claiming my Apple Pay was declined. I asked to try again and this time the male employee worked the register. It went through, making me think that the rewards app would have worked if the original cashier knew how to use the system. Then i reminded them I was still overcharged, even if it was just $0.07. I am frustrated because the staff was passive aggressive, should not be charging me random amounts, and should not be giving such small portions to customers. This was a terrible experience, especially for a regular, to get such rude and unhelpful service with subpar food. This place is really going down hill read more

I was just here and has to walk out because the service was so slow. The one person that they had manning the counter didn't have a good grasp of English, which is fine but he had absolutely no support. It was as if all of the staff took a break at the same time 7:30pm. I eat at Mezeh for lunch nearly every single day. The staff are always super friendly and helpful, the food is always fantastic, and the line always moves quick even if it's during a busy lunch hour. What I like most about Mezeh as my lunch option is that you can really make a large variety of dishes so you never get tired of one particular item, and it's very easy to use their nutritional calculator on the website to stay exactly with any dietary concerns you may have. I bring my coworkers to Mezeh whenever I get the chance, and I love when I happen to be in the area outside of work hours because it means I get more Mezeh!
