Had dinner with friends this past Friday and the food was okay. Ordered the truffle gnocchi, burger, and ceasar salad and none of it really stood out. The gnocchi was the biggest let down, small portion for it being pretty pricey, and tasted somewhat bitter. Burger meat needs more seasoning, tasted quite bland. And ceasar salad was basic. For my drink, I got the blackberry lemonade and it felt a little diluted. The dinner rolls were okay, tasted like basic rolls, just toasted. The only good things were the drinks and dessert. My wife's chateau and mon Cheri tasted pretty good. And the profiteroles were solid, though it could've been more crispy. Also, our server was pretty good. Not sure if I'll be back unless for drinks.
I've been to Julii at least a dozen times, and it never disappoints. The chicken kabob is consistently excellent! It is always perfectly seasoned, tender, and one of those dishes I keep coming back for without hesitation. One thing I really appreciate is the consistency of the menu. You always know your favorites will be there, which makes it an easy go-to spot. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service has always been great.
I've been here a couple of times now and it never disappoints. It's tucked into a smaller space right in the heart of Pike & Rose, which gives it a more intimate feel. The staff is always friendly and professional. On our most recent visit, we came for happy hour. My wife and I were starving, so we grabbed seats at the bar and ended up ordering more than we probably should have. I spent a solid few minutes debating between two fish entrees... and somehow still ended up ordering the burger. No regrets though, it was a really good one. My wife got the Lamb Tagine, which is her go to, but I definitely stole a few bites. We also ordered the Julii Wedge, Scallop Crudo, and the Labneh. Everything came out great. The bartenders were easy to talk to, helpful, and kept things moving without rushing us. Julii is a great date night spot or just a good place to stop into after walking around Pike and Rose. Consistently good food, service, and atmosphere.
Woot woot! I was pleasantly surprised by my brunch visit today to Julii's! I was here spending my Mother's Day and birthday with my son and so glad we picked this hotspot. First off we love the fact that the brunch runs through 2:30 PM, and we noticed that it was packed because reputation is that they have the most amazing food that is prepared fresh in their scratch kitchen! We love the blend of French, Iranian and German flavors in so many unique and amazing dishes. We had the crispy trout, which was insanely good and the Shashuka... our waiter was top-notch and the atmosphere was perfect. We even enjoyed sitting outside with the weather being perfect today. Thank you so much for making my birthday and Mother's Day so wonderful.
Was looking forward to trying this place as the ambiance looked really nice. I have to be honest,we were a little disappointed. Cocktails were okay. I got the mon cheri. I didn't like the glass it was served in but it wasn't bad. The evil eye could have been spicier. Scallops and risotto was okay, not super flavorful. The rigatoni was overcooked, the pasta was borderline mushy. We asked for the burger to be medium but it was served well done. Not a single bit of pink. Lamb was good but not something we would order again. Not very impressed overall. Probably won't be back.
Went to Julii my second visit for a dinner celebrating an expecting friend. Our reservation was set for one of the igloos which was very cute and surprisingly comfortable set with its own little heater if we needed to adjust to temperature. Our server was attentive and shared lots of details for menu items we asked about. The table ordered a variety of dishes we all shared and enjoyed. My dish was the scallops with risotto which I enjoyed especially since the the risotto texture was nice and soft, the cheese in the dish paired nicely with the mushrooms and scallops that were cooked beautifully -crisp outside but retaining their soft juicy middles. Only thing I was not a huge fan of was my passion fruit soda but everyone else enjoyed their beverages alcoholic and otherwise. We also enjoyed and shared a pistachio brittle crème brûlée which was a nice way to wrap things up!
Came here for lunch for the first time with a couple of friends. I ordered the crispy trout and my friends ordered the mushroom omelette, ham and cheese omelette, shoestring french fries, shrimp appetizer, and profiteroles. What's Hot - Menu. Good variety and not too many options. There's meat, veggies, and seafood. I'm uncertain whether they can specifically modify any dishes for vegan. - Quality. Delicious. My trout was nicely filleted, well seasoned (not overly salty), and the skin was extra crispy. It was served over a bed of celery, potatoes, and cauliflower that were tender. Their shoestring fries were not overly salty and were nicely crispy. Their seasonal dish of grilled shrimp with their barley salad was also very flavorful. The shrimp were well-seasoned and a nice texture (i.e., not overly cooked/rubbery). The profiteroles were sweet, but not overly so, and had a nice amount of chocolate sauce drizzled over it. - Service. Excellent. Our waitress was attentive and checked in on us within decent time intervals, refilled our water glasses - Location. Conveniently located within a plaza with many different options. You can walk around and check out other shops, as well. During nice weather, there's supposedly outdoor seating. Their tables don't appear to be able to seat parties in the double digits. - Layout. Inside layout is not decent, but not expansive. There are a fair number of booths and tables. I've been told that the provide outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Given the limited seating, I highly recommend making reservations. What's Not - Acoustics. Terrible inside. We could barely hear the wait staff who talked to us. We had to ask her several times to repeat the information she gave us Sound carries very easily inside, especially when it's full. - Parking. There is parking in the area, but depending on the day you come, it can be difficult to find. Given that I was there during on a Sunday afternoon, it was difficult to find parking. The nearby outdoor lots were all filled and street parking was difficult to find. Fortunately, my friends told me about a parking lot at the nearby Porsche dealership, which was not costly and is well-automated. For about the 2 hours I was there, I paid under $4 total. The Porsche parking lot is also able to read your license plate. - Cost. To be fair, it's going to depend on what you order. When you combine drinks, any seasonal dishes (and the wait staff did not tell us the cost of the seasonal dishes we ordered), and dessert, it's a fair amount. - Reservations. Definitely recommend making reservations, rather than walking in. Final Answer Would be willing to come back here again, but probably not a first choice.
Julii completely won me over at dinner!!! everything we ordered was so yummy. The scallop risotto was hands down my favorite. Well cooked scallops (not rubber), creamy, rich. The chicken kebab was also delicious, and really every dish that hit the table was SOLID. Add to that the beautiful vibe, attentive service, and it just felt like a place made for a great night out - with the girls. I do want to be honest: I wasn't a fan of their brunch in the past, so I came in a little hesitant... but WOW. dinner is a totally different story and absolutely to die for. The outdoor igloos were really cute too if you're into that. I'll certainly be back for dinner!
A little pricey so be aware. Gorgeous interior exterior that feels like a treat. One of the best salads we had had in a long time with unique ingredients! Fantastic profiteroles! Solid Bloody Mary. Steak and eggs for brunch was good quality but interestingly a tad bland. Portion size was great and shareable. Wonderful server who obliged so many different requests ! We'll be back.

The dinner rolls and the crab cake were great starters. Idk if the crab cake is like one of their favorites but I think it was a nice starters may not be exactly what makes Julii Julii but if you like crab you'll love it. The sauce was amazing pair as well. Service was quick, respectful and informative.
I think this place is wonderful Their cocktails are soooo light and refreshing. I would literally come here just for that. Their food leaves you wanting more. They have these dinner rolls that come with spread that is a must. And TRUST me when I say... get the lamb. It falls off the bone! Service is great! It is a little small so it can get really packed but very much worth it.

Have you ever loved a restaurant so much you went back twice in the same day? That was me here. This Pike & Rose gem in North Bethesda is everything you hope for in a neighborhood spot -- fresh, imaginative Mediterranean-inspired food, a vibrant yet cozy atmosphere, and the kind of place you immediately start planning to revisit. Everything I tried was fantastic, from the perfectly prepared chicken kebabs to the cod with farro. The blackberry vodka cocktail was beautiful and delicious, and the saffron steamed milk with ginger for dessert was absolute perfection. The entire concept feels current, welcoming, and effortlessly cool without trying too hard. Can't wait to return the next time I'm back in town for meetings! read more

I've had this booked marked for over two years and my cutie pie always says, "what is in this book mark of yours", lol. Although he will lead most times, I pick one place every weekend so we can check it off together. This Friday (5/16) I picked Julii! He's a regular so although super packed they made it work and sat us immediately without a reservation. This place is popular and a reservation is needed. While I thought the menu was limited, it does the job. I wanted Branzino and had that in my mind the whole day but was disappointed that it wasn't on the menu. Welp, y'all know I love a burger. Service was fantastic! Ambiance feels like stepping into a French‑Mediterranean boutique café that someone elevated into a luxury dining room. It's warm, intimate, and softly glamorous without trying too hard. Let's get into it! Chicken Kabob - Seasoned perfectly over rice! Really good! Burger - Added bacon and mushrooms- Absolutely delicious! Drinks were delicious! No apps because I wasn't that hungry! I will definitely be back to try more of the menu! read more

My family and I always have a great dining experience at Julii. This restaurant consistently delivers excellent food and service. The atmosphere is inviting, making it our go-to spot for hosting friends and family when they visit from out of town. read more

Vibes were lovely and food was the perfect taste. Highly recommend the truffle gnocchi and Brussels sprouts. The mezcal cocktail was refreshing and just right. Seating was a bit tight by the window near bar as I understand it to maximize space but slightly stuffy so I would get seating in a booth or in the middle of restaurant. read more

I went to this restaurant for brunch with a few girlfriends, and I absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was so charming, and our waitress was super sweet and attentive. We tried a few caffeinated alcoholic drinks--especially loved the espresso martini, which was super creamy and beautifully garnished. For food, I had the crab Benedict special of the day--it was out of this world! The eggs were perfectly cooked, and the crab portion was just right. It came with crispy shoestring fries that were delicious. I'll definitely be back! read more
We came here for the first time to celebrate my granddaughter's 20th birthday. We had a reservation for 8 of us and were promptly seated. Our server was amazing. Very patient and attentive. He never forgot one thing, and when we asked for stuff, he was quick to get it. First time in a while that service was perfect, from apps to desert and paying the check. We started out with a couple apps. The first was the dinner rolls, which come with pistachio on them and a side of herbed butter. The second app was an Alsatian tart, which looked more like a thin pizza, and both apps were extremely tasty. As we looked at the menu, one is quick to realize this is not a cheap place. As the waiter was telling us the specials, he mentioned that the two pasta dishes were on the smaller side and not a big portion. I appreciated that because I didn't want to walk away hungry. I got the scallops risotto, and although there were only 3 scallops for a price of $42, they were big diver scallops, and the mushroom risotto was plentiful and the whole dish was one of the best risottos I have ever had. Our table had the lamb, the prime rib special, the crispy trout, steak frites and the rigatoni bolognese and every single dish was amazing with everyone being extremely happy. For dessert, we had the profiteroles and they were very good. Overall, it is not a cheap dinner, but they make you feel like you are dining in a high end 5-star restaurant. Great food, great ambiance, great service, great restaurant and a great time for us. We will be back. read more

I'm a bit shocked reading some of the lower star reviews because I've been wanting to go try Julii for a few years now and went this past Father's Day for dinner. I have to say, it was such an amazing experience. We sat near the front at a very comfortable table with spacious seating. The decor is beautiful. We tried quite a few appetizers but the one that stood out the most were the scallops. We ended up ordering 2 plates of them for my family to share. I had their lamb and it was amazing. My only critique would be that there's a bit too much couscous. Would have liked maybe an added vegetable of some sort. But literally the lamb fell off the bone it was cooked so well. For dessert, I'm a sucker for crème brûlée. The custard came out perfect in texture and the pistachios were a nice added touch. I ordered a chai latte (best thing here). Literally so good. The right amount of cinnamon and cardamom. Our server was amazing. She checked on us periodically. Very attentive. I would happily return! read more
Came here for girl date vibes! LOVED the ambience just as much as my lamb tagine. Great dish presentation and so flavorful. Service was attentive and he wrapped my leftovers nicely. Only request would be to turn the heat on! It was freezing the night I went, I saw fellow diners still wearing their coats and hats around me! read more

We finally made it to Julii last night after having it on our list for ages--and wow, it did not disappoint! I honestly can't recommend this place enough. From the stylish ambiance to the amazing food, everything was on point. Our server, Rani, was super sweet and attentive, which made the experience even better. We ordered the crispy trout and the rigatoni--both were absolutely delicious. The fish came whole, served with roasted potatoes and cauliflower. The portion was generous (definitely shareable!) and so flavorful. The rigatoni was equally amazing--the sauce was rich and full of flavor, with just the right touch of aged cheese and thin slices of pork belly that added a savory kick. We already have our picks for next time. Can't wait to come back!!!! read more
ordered the steak and eggs (38$) from the brunch menu, super tasty steak! I always order medium, and it was to my liking. paired with an espresso martini (15$) we had a girls brunch brunch and our friend brought her daughter and she ordered her buttered noodles( and omg they tastes so good) The service was great, it wasn't a busy Saturday either so we got everything in a decent time. it's also a cute area so you can walk around and enjoy the small shopping stores too! read more
Julii is a higher-end French-Mediterranean restaurant in Pike & Rose. My friend and I made a reservation this past Sunday evening which is a must -- it gets busy pretty quickly and there were very few to no empty tables. We were sat in a smaller table in the back with the perfect people-watching view through the glass windows. We decided to share two small plates and one big plate. PETIT PLATS: BURRATA - 18 The burrata sat on top of some dried fruit pieces (made with saffron jam?) and topped with strawberry slices and toasted pumpkin seeds. It was nutty, fruity, and sweet along with the lightly savory and creamy burrata that made wonderful bites. The burrata wasn't as cloud-like as I would have liked, but this overall, still good. PETIT PLATS: BRUSSEL SPROUTS - 15 The brussel sprouts were roasted(?) with garlic and parmesan, but we thought they were bitter. Some sat on top of a creamy white sauce, but not enough sauce to go around to cut the sharp bitterness of the brussel sprouts. GRAND PLATS: ROASTED COD - 32 The roasted cod was perched on top of a bed of farro, mixed with a creamy, saffron-based(?) sauce, topped with fennel slaw and tomatoes. We really enjoyed the soft and buttery roasted cod which was prepared perfectly with the farro. It was a good mix of ingredients and flavors. Pricy and not a whole lot of food, but overall delicious with unique flavors. My friend wasn't very hungry so I had more than half of all three things we shared, but I was still hungry after. read more

Love coming here any time of the day. Their brunch is as good as their dinner. We love sitting at the bar so we get to interact with the bartenders and fast service. They also have outdoor seating in the summer and winter (igloos). If you can't get a reservations, always try walking in to sit at the bar as they usually Open up quickly. read more

We stopped by recently for a weekday lunch. The restaurant was more than half full and we got a good seat by the window. the ambiance is very warm and welcoming and the service staff was friendly as well Parking around the area can be a challenge given how busy Pike and Rose is! The food here is a nice combination of French and Mediterranean cuisine styles. Our server recommend some good dishes and we finally ordered the following dishes: Burrata - the dish was very fresh and the fennel saffron jam was a nice touch to the dish - we could not stop eating until it was all gone! Mushroom Cavatelli - the mushroom was cooked perfectly with the perfect amount of cheese and nuts. Scallop Crudo - the scallops went perfectly with the sauce which had a nice balance of heat and sweetness Lamb Tagine - This was a nice service portion and the lamb was very tender and easy off the bone. The couscous was cooked perfectly as well. This is definitely a good spot for a nice meal! read more
Service was very nice. Our server was attentive, coming by occasionally to see if we needed anything. The Interior was a little small, but it felt intimate. Their decor felt hip and trendy. It's a little pricey, but if you want to treat yourself or go out for a romantic dinner, this place fits the bill. They are located at Pike & Rose, so if you want to do some shopping before or after dinner, there are some nice shops nearby. On Sundays most shops close at 6pm, so be aware. Everything we ordered was delicious. I ordered the roasted cod, which was excellent, but I think I preferred the lamb tagine. The lamb I think is appropriate for a hearty winter meal. Its flavors are very comforting and the portion was big, very filling. We went for a special occasion, our experience here was lovely. read more
One of my favorite restaurants now. We sat outside on a nice weather day which was super enjoyable because they have a beautiful seating area with umbrellas and nice chairs. The servers are amazing and very personable, giving a run down of the menu and connecting with customers. The cocktails were excellent especially the seasonal ones. My favorite things on the menu included the burrata and crispy trout. Both were delicious and very high quality. read more
Julii is a cute/classy sit-down restaurant in Pike & Rose that's perfect for a girls' night out or a date. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, but I can only speak to the experience indoors. The menu is very interesting--it's basically Italian and French meets Mediterranean--but could include more vegetarian/vegan options. In any case, the food and wine I had was very good, and the service was good. Check it out! read more
Been here a few times for brunch and it always hits the spot. I've tried their crepes, French toast and even kabob and they're all great. I also came once for a friend's bday and they had a nice card for her and gave us dessert as a treat. Attentive service as well even when we're seated outside which is great when the weather's warmer. read more
Loved coming here for a date night to celebrate 100 days together with my boyfriend. The service was great and we got seated quickly. We also were able to order quickly and got our food soon after ordering. We got the crispy trout, chicken kabob, and dinner rolls. We also ordered a drink and sparkling wine. Nice place for a date night. Serene lighting, large windows, interesting decor pieces. Park nearby at the structure. Enjoyed the food but doubt that you'll be full with an order. Flavorful and rich, common as to what you'd expect for a place like this. Scallops and rissoto were cooked perfectly. I'd pass on the lobster dish as I felt like i was craving more of the portions. I LOOOOVE Julii!!! This place doesn't miss. Its elegant, the ambience is romantic and low key. Service is great! Parking is fine, there's street parking and a couple parking garages. I've been there twice and both times had the same server and he is absolutely wonderful. He was attentive and answered all our questions. Everything we had was decadent ! First visit we had cocktails, appetizers, dessert and coffee. Second visit was for my bday. I took a ch ace and tried the Lamb with couscous. (My favorite dish is the scallops and risotto) The lamb was absolutely tender, juicy and so yummy. The couscous was a bit dry for my taste, but no points deducted for this, I think it's a matter of taste. The cavatelli with truffle mushrooms appetizer was also wow ! Loved this restaurant! Came here for girls night and had great service, great food in a great atmosphere. I had the steak frites and it was perfectly cooked and tender. A few of my friends had the Lamb Tagine and it was fall off the bone with an excellent presentation. I will definitely be returning and I highly recommend! read more

12.26.24 Came for lunch today with friends. I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese and hot cocoa. The bolognese was good, but the cocoa was bland. Not very chocolatey and tasted like they used water and not milk, which I would prefer. Our server was great and attentive. She started by going over the menu and her recommendations. Then while we were there, she came around several times to refill our water and clear the table. The kitchen appeared to be slow preparing the food as it took awhile before it came out. They have patio seating including Alpenglobe (private, heated, and enclosed dome designed for outdoor dining). I saw several patrons using them while we were there. This restaurant is located in Pike & Rose and is across from LL Bean. The closest garage is on Prose Street. read more

The food was excellent 5 stars The ambiance was excellent 5 stars The service was excellent 5 stars I had the steak, eggs and string French fries along with the Bloody Mary. The steak was tender and savory. The eggs were poached. The complimentary desert was a take on the ice cream sandwich with Patachio gelato . My friend who is Greek knew the manager when he was a baby. I didn't realize that Julii and Medina are owned by the Cava brand. They plan to open a "Michelin" star bound restaurant, named "Bouboulia". This restaurant is named after a female Greek freedom fighter. This restaurant will open this month. Getting back to Julii's, we loved the openness of the restaurant. It had a trendy and homey vibe. The staff were young but well trained. We didn't feel rushed and the kitchen was efficient.
