I had an amazing birthday dinner here Saturday night. The food, ambience, and service was amazing. Seth was our server and he was very kind and welcoming. The food is top notch, i think the favorite of the evening was the roasted red pepper hummus with pita. We all had the mixed grill, everything was delicious, and very hot and fresh. I loved the kafta with the tzatziki! After dinner we continued the party on the patio with hookah and Turkish coffee and cocktails, where Jose took care of us. The food was good but the prices are very high and you don't get very much of it either.

When you first walk in, the first thing you notice is the beautiful decor. It is nicely furnished, balanced and has a very comfortable atmosphere. The quality and presentation of the food is on par with the ambience. The dishes and well thought out and very delicious. We had a mixed grill platter, a bunch of mezze plates, salad, baklava and Turkish coffee. Prices are slightly higher than other typical Mediterranean restaurants, but it is worth it. read more

We have been eager to try this place out and so glad the food did not disappoint. It was delicious. The four of us decided to try a sampling of appetizers. We tried two typed of their in house made hummus and baba ghanouj with pita bread. So smooth and creamy and good. We then had the falafel, sujuk( small lamb and beef sausages) which were delicious. We also tried the kibbe, which were good, not just our favorite as they have a touch of nutmeg. Personal preference only. The reAson it gets 3 stars was our seating and pricing. I felt it was a bit overpriced. Also we made reservations for 4 at 6:00. When we arrived they told is there was a mistake and didn't have a table for us. They offered the four of us to sit at a high top, which is basically a small table in the bar which would not accommodate 4 people with drinks and plates of food. We chose to sit at the bar which was not ideal seating arrangement to enjoy a meal with friends. There were plenty of open tables. No point in Taking a reservation of you don't actually keep it. read more

I have been patiently waiting to try this place and my mother had lunch in the area so I decided to place an order online for pickup so I could enjoy it during my lunch break. I ordered the Beef and Lamb Kafta sandwich with fries, and the fries were extra soggy. I love Falafel so I ordered the 5 piece side, and they tasted like hushpuppies to me. It was also missing the tahini dip. I am throughly disappointed for my first time, especially after spending $30. I really wanted the Mixed Grill and a side of hummus, but I wanted to wait until I dined in, but I don't think that will happen. I was so excited to see a new Mediterranean spot open here in Conroe since I haven't really had anything good since moving from Houston. Now to add some ground lamb on my grocery list so I can make some at home to go with my homemade hummus. read more

My husband, son, and I were excited to try this place out and eat a gyro as there are not anymore local mediterranean places nearby the one on 1488 closed down a while back. We started with the lunch hummus, tabouli, and falafel and they were small portions but I guess special size. The hummus was missing that kick of tahini was a bit bland. The tabouli was very good but had a lazy chop to it. Finally, my son and I are both ordered the gyro sandwich with fries and my husband ordered the gyro plate.. do not get this. It is not your traditional Gyro tit is prepackaged!! For the price. It was highly disappointing and the taste just did not cut it. Had we known that this was prepackaged we would've ordered something else. I wish they would've had that somewhere on their menu. When you go to Mediterranean place, one would think that they would have that turning on the skewer stick and carving it off. We might give it another shot and order something else as the tabouli and hummus were not that bad. The other pictures of their food looks good just didn't see any of this. We just stopped off on the way out of town. We were impressed. We got a mezze sampler and loved the hummus and babaganoush. Babaganoush had really nice smoky flavor. They char the eggplant over a wood fire. Delicious! The warm pita was really good too. The grape leaves were meh. Labne was good. Loved the kibbe! I would not say this is the absolute best Mediterranean food I have ever had, but it is definitely easily within the top 5! Everything was exceptionally well prepared. If I had to make one critique, it would be that pretty much everything was slightly more bland than I was hoping for. I must admit my palate is perhaps drawn to intense bold flavors more than some others though. The Toum was very creamy and tasty but not quite as punchy with intense garlic kick as I was looking for. Same story with the Tzatziki sauce. Very good, but a bit mild in terms of flavor punch. The Hummus was also very good, but on the milder side. I guess I should have tried the Red Pepper Hummus for something a bit more punchy. I have an absolute favorite hummus (from a restaurant that is not nearby and that I therefore don't get to enjoy very often) that has lots of garlic and crispy fried garlic bits in it and that is the standard against which I judge all other Hummus. The Hummus here at Mezze is extremely good, and with fresh warm pita I can happily enjoy its' creamy smoothness and lovely subtle taste quite happily. The Halloumi cheese hot appetizer was surprising. Initially I wasn't sure of what I thought about the honey mustard sauce, but the more I ate the more I enjoyed it. In terms of entrees we tried the Grilled Chicken Shawarma, the Chicken Shish Tawook, the Lamb Shish Kabobs and the Beef Shish Kabobs plates. All were very well prepared and very tasty!! Of the 4 plates, I would say the Shish Tawook and the Beef Shish Kabobs were my favorite but all were very good. We ordered takeout and had the food delivered curbside with no problem at all. Everything was still nice and hot and tasty by the time we got it home, so I don't think any of the food suffered for having to travel for a little bit before getting eaten. Next time I do want to go into the restaurant and eat everything as fresh from the Kitchen as it comes, but I have no complaints at all about our take-out experience. My family and I will definitely be back as this is by far the closest Mediterranean food to where we live and the flavors and quality of what we enjoyed this visit will guarantee that we come back for more. I strongly encourage you to give them a try if you enjoy Mediterranean style food. I am confident that you will not be disappointed! read more

I was there during lunch time - even though the place was almost empty, the service was pretty slow. Food was tasty but in my opinion still overpriced, probably due to a newer location and overhead. If spots like this intend to survive, they need to have more specials and promotions to attract more guests and make some profit.
