This was a very nice surprise and honestly didn't seem like the type of restaurant you'd find in Conroe. I came just after happy hour, and the dining room remained nearly full until I left. Maybe my favorite part of the whole experience was maybe the ambiance. The service was really great, as the waitress visited many times to ensure I had everything I needed. As far as the food, I tried the mixed grill with the toum and spicy tahini dipping sauces. This plate comes with a small salad and plenty of yellow rice. I also sampled the Road to Damascus cocktail which was initially a little bitter, but got better tasting as I drank more. The restroom was modern, clean and dimly lit, with Mediterranean style lighting. I'd definitely return to try more dishes and maybe make it to the happy hour. read more

We ordered the cold mezze sampler and chicken plate also the fattoush salad. First of all presentation was epic, but seriously when you look at the plate you see things that most places don't do. Garbanzos served with the hummus, pomegranate arils on the salad, radishes with the baba Ghanouj.... Most places don't do these things and it's epic. We finally tried Mezze, and wow--what a fantastic experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. Our server, Lance, was phenomenal--attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about the food. He made us feel right at home. We started with the spicy hummus, and it was a total standout. Creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of heat. Plus, the portion was generous--perfect for sharing (though I kind of wanted it all to myself!). Upon entry the young lady asked if we had reservations-we did not! She found us a table anyway and seated us. Started off with amazing cocktails and falafel with pickled veggies!! First visit to Mezze#1 and it won't be the last! I liked the ambiance. Seating and noise levels were very nice for a comfortable dining experience. Our server, Jose, was helpful and patient in explaining some of the dishes being offered. We weren't in a hurry and never felt rushed. We ordered a variety of appetizers for our meal so we could get a good sampling of their range. All were well prepared, plated, and met our expectations. I've gotten hooked on this dish called Shish Tawook and ordered a late night supper. The two skewers of chicken were grilled well and a good portion. You get to choose 2 dips. My non-spicy selections were the toum and tzaziki dips which were good and different. The salad had pickled onions, cucumbers etc. They were fresh and crunchy. Rice was nicely flavored. Ordered pita bread since it doesn't come with the meal. All in all, it was a nice wholesome meal for the days you needed a lift! The service was top notch. Our waitress was a younger girl and she was the best. We say outside because my sister had her dog. When we got there the music was loud inside because there was a belly dancer. The inside of the restaurant is very nice and clean. We were greeted right away and met us outside with the menus. Immediately when I walked in I was jarred by the beautiful decor - it's an absolutely stunning dining room. The hostess walked me to a cozy table and then turned on my table lamp (how nifty!) kudos for the creativity and experience. Their food is so delicious! I loved their hummus and pita - their hummus was so smooth and I added an extra helping of chicken. Their pita came straight from the oven. I came in for lunch and ordered the kofta bowl as my entree. I thought the kofta was a little rubbery but still tasty. Their service however was impeccable! We discovered Mezze#1 during the power outage post-Beryl (we just moved to the Woodlands area and hadn't gone exploring yet). We love that it's a hidden gem and in a quiet business area (in comparison to the other packed chain restaurants). We felt a bit underdressed when we arrived but there's no turning back once you're there. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and staged for parties and entertainment. We were there on a Thursday night but learned that they have live entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays. I'll admit that our server (maybe bartender) didn't seem too thrilled to be serving us - he seemed very short with us. We'd have questions about the menu and he wasn't quite descriptive or assistive. We've owned a restaurant before to know how to read body language and cues but didn't let it deter us from enjoying our dinner. My husband and I typically eat a lot of food so we actually settled on the Mix Grill Plate for 3-4 people. Everything came out so hot and fresh, really picture perfect, and tasted great. We had a couple bits of meat leftover so we were able to get the attention of the other server, Lance(?), for a container and to pay our tab. It was really a lot better than I thought it would be, glad I dressed like an adult. After spending thousands of dollars I like to treat myself to a good meal, this was the place. A restaurant with great atmosphere and fantastic staff. Definitely a great place to take a date. We started with the Red Pepper Hummus, her Mimosa and I had an Amaretto Sour. I wanted to like this place so much because I love grilled meat. It turns out the beef on my shish kabob was too dry and the amount of 5-6 cubes was absurd for the $28 that the plate costs. It also had no flavor, it just tasted too gamey for it to be grilled. The garlic sauce looked like solid coconut oil. The chicken tenders seemed to be the frozen kind. The meal took forever to get to us, and when I saw the beef I was disappointed, then I saw all the rice. It seems like they tried to compensate for the little amount of meat, with a gigantic portion of rice. The ambiance was pleasant, the light on the table was quite cute. I loved the big glass windows in the back, the place was bright, and the music was also quite comfortable. Sadly I do not recommend this place, nor would I ever go back here. read more

Mezze #1 Three of us has an early dinner here on a Sunday evening. We were met by friendly staff and seated right away. The atmosphere of the brand new restaurant transported us to an upscale Mediterranean experience. We opted for the mixed grill board (for 3-4 people) and had a starter of their excellent hummus. The mixed grill board included an assortment of their three styles of kebabs. Each were quite flavorful, especially when accompanied by one of the four specialty sauces. Why 3 stars? Because unfortunately it was all just kind of okay. --- --- --- I hate writing reviews that are not more positive. But I have to be honest, because if every review is 5-stars, it's kind of pointless. I've had this place bookmarked for a while, and we finally stopped in to check it out when we were in the area. When we walked in (around 11:20am on a Saturday), we had the place completely to ourselves. I was kind of bummed out about that, for the sake of the local business, but by the time we left, there were many tables full of other diners. Despite our subpar experience, I was happy to see others supporting this place. Here's what we ordered: Hummus: 4-stars. The hummus itself was alright, but the hot pita bread was probably the best part of our entire meal. Baba ghanouj: 3-stars. We had already ordered the hummus, and then I checked in on Yelp, to see that this was free as a part of a check-in offer, so we took it. We liked the hummus more. Kids Pizza: 3-stars. It was essentially some kind of pita bread with melted cheese and feta on it. It was unique, I suppose, but not great. Beef Shish Kabob Plate: 3-stars. Again, everything was just okay. The steak was not particularly appealing. It was probably on par with steak from Denny's. I know that sounds harsh, but it was one of the more expensive items on the menu, and unfortunately the cost was not justified. The accompanying salad had basically no dressing and was just lettuce. The sauces it came with were, like everything else, just okay. Greek Salad with Chicken: 2-stars. My wife ordered this. There really wasn't anything redeeming about it. Again, it had very little dressing, and what dressing it did have, was not something we enjoyed. Baklava: 4-stars. The one thing we enjoyed more than anything else (excluding the pita bread). It came with one pistachio slice and one cashew slice. The pistachio slice was the better of the two. Our server was very friendly and helpful, and the space is beautiful. However, it was a bit of a bummer to spend over $100 after tip on a lunch that we didn't really enjoy. We came here because it was highly rated and I completely recognize that I may have just caught them on an off day, considering how different our experience was from most of the reviews here. We love supporting local business, and hope these folks continue to thrive, but on this particular day, we came away wishing we had gone somewhere else. read more

Parking: This is a shared open air lot situation right now there isn't a lot of people that are there at this point because a lot of places are still being built so it was very easy to park. Value: We got 3 things the kids chicken tender plate which was shockingly amazing especially for chicken tenders I couldn't believe it the cold appetizer played and the sha shuka. The waiter did recommend having the shushaka with cheese I actually would disagree with it however everything else was good. I hate to say that I didn't even bother to look at the bill but I truly believe that whatever they would have charged me I probably would have paid I know the sounds crazy to write but it was truly that good.
