I ordered the Greek salad and added lamb to it. The salad was very small for the price. It was good, but disappointed with the price point for the size. . Husband ordered the chicken shawarma and said it was okay. We eat a lot at Llama Cafe in The Woodlands and I guess I was expecting the same portion size as they have, especially with the price. For the higher end pricing of the menu items, one would expect to have the accompanying pita to be a part of the meal. Never before have I ever been charged additional for pita bread. WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!! Beautiful restaurant, beautiful presentation on all of the food, cheerful waitstaff, and delicious food!!! Mezze1 has only been open for a month at the time of our visit- you could tell things weren't as smooth as they could be, but time will work all of that out. The owner came and talked to us several times during our meal and when we left- he is very friendly and open to ideas. Our party shared the baba ghanouj appetizer, the mixed grill, a Turkish coffee, and 2 types of baklava. Beautiful presentation on the baba ghanouj, and I had never eaten it with pomegranate seeds and radishes- added a new level of flavor. The mixed grill had several types of meat, along with basmati rice, and it was delicious also. The meats were juicy, especially the chicken. One note: if you order the lamb & beef kafta, it comes medium rare. You can ask for it to be cooked more, if you choose. The pita bread that came with our meal was HOT, freshly cooked, and just delicious. There was 2 types of baklava- cashew and pistachio. They were both delicious (am I using that word too much?), but our favorite was the cashew- it melted in your mouth. We enjoyed the Turkish coffee also- fruity profile, and maybe a tad bitter, but once we added sugar, it cut the bitterness. Again, beautiful presentation with the tiny cups & spoons, and the coffee pot at your table. The music was on, but not overpowering- we could hear ourselves talk at the table. We are always looking for new places to eat that meet our requirements- clean, good food, nice atmosphere, and great service. Mezze1 meets all of those! And we asked about gluten free options- nothing was marked on the menu. We have food allergies in our family, and it is difficult to find places that meet that requirement also. The owner said several items on the menu are gluten-free, and he will look into marking the menu appropriately. We will add this to our rotation of restaurants and we will tell our friends. read more

Our server, Seth, did a great job. Our party of 4 shared an appetizer platter that had some of the best hummus I have had in years. The baba ghanouj. Was flavorful and garnished with pomegranate seeds that added a great texture and color. The other remarkable plate was the mixed platter (for 1-2) the grilled chicken was so tender and had so much flavor I kept saying this is the best grilled chicken I have ever had. They were out of Moroccan Mint tea. Grape leaves appetizer plate was well-delivered by our kind and knowledgeable waitress, Lyna. For lunch entree we had one felafel sandwich with fries and one Shawarma chicken sandwich. Compliments to Riad, the Business Manager. The hummus were really good here the Baba gunash was sprinkled with promergrants seeds. That was unique. the chicken kabobs were my favorite! Our server, Jose, was helpful and patient in explaining some of the dishes being offered. We weren't in a hurry and never felt rushed. We ordered a variety of appetizers for our meal so we could get a good sampling of their range. All were well prepared, plated, and met our expectations.
