So my review for this gyro shop is a little conflicted because I very much enjoyed the food I got but none of it was what I had ordered. Again, I'm trying to be fair during this pandemic, I'm trying to rate given the circumstances so while I'd like to give a 3.5, I'm upping to a 4 just cause again, the food was great. I made an order on doordash for the jumbo gyro combo along with a side order of calamari. Why? Cause I wanted calamari and they supposedly have it here, so why not? Anyways, I waited for doordash to deliver my order and when it finally got here I was confused as I had bags and bags of food but my driver had left it on the door due to COVID procedures and I just brought it in. Upon unpacking I got very confused as I was given food for essentially a small family, there were like 4 gyros, a side of hummus, a bunch of pita, and basically every dessert under the sun. I wasn't really sure what to do as I ordered late and by the point I got my food the shop was closed so I figured I may as well just eat it haha So again, the food itself was good. I really enjoyed the regular gyro. I was able to try the chicken gyro as well, not my favorite cause it was a bit dry due to using breast meat but probably better for slightly health conscious people. The hummus was great along with the pita. A slightly more chunky hummus but still very spreadable and creamy. The desserts were also pretty good, the baklava was crisp and I always love honey and pistachio. The tiramisu and cheesecake were fairly ordinary but still delicious. Overall, I was happy with the food I recieved, even if it wasn't what I ordered. I'll have to try them again sometime to see if my review changes. Still missing those fries and calamari though. The fatty in me wanted a deep fried mess that night haha oh wells. read more

I checked out Number One Gyro Shoppe after hearing good things about it. It's close to the casino. The area around there is kind of icky, but it's not the worst. It's owned by many of the other gyro shops around Columbus. That means it's not too bad. I had the usual fast food Greek available at any respectable Greek restaurant. It's menu includes common stuff like falafel. They also have fries, which aren't Greek. It has some combos on the menu. The falafel, fries, and beverage is about $7. It was a very good pita. The falafel was crispy and well seasoned. It came with a very good tahini sauce. The fries were not too salty while tasting fresh. I would tell others to not judge Number One Gyro Shoppe by the outside. It's not a nice area but this is one of the best places around it. This is the first time I have reviewed anything on Yelp until last night when I was compelled to do so. I ordered the 17 dollar beef kebob meal. The steak I ordered was a very small portion. It was four very small pieces of steak. The ratio of veggies/peppers and rice to steak was a slap in the face. I probably could have dealt with this considering the other ingredients were still pretty tasty. Unfortunately the steak was so well done that it was chewy and just did not taste good. I had ordered the steak medium rare. It was so well done it was practically burnt. I usually don't complain about a meal. I have been coming to this restaurant for YEARS however I am new to Yelp and wanted to give a review since I stopped by for a salad today. I love the Gryo salad, the salad comes with mixed salad greens, tomatoes, onions, purple olives, feta cheese, gyro meat and pita on the side. Delicious!!!! The portion of gyro meat is generous and the pita bread is slightly toasted but soft. The salad also includes a side of Tzatziki and they give plenty of this sauce for the whole salad. The Gryo's are also good, the Calamari is good, crispy but tender and the baklava is also delicious and worth adding to your meal. This is my favorite Gryo shop. read more

I love this restaurant. I get their food at the drive thru often and it's always fresh and usually correct. Yummy great sized fries. Not a great drink selection. The only problem I've been experiencing lately is consistency. You see there are many places we could have tried first but just thinking about that mouth watering lamb meat with all the fixings along with those tasty well seasoned fries to the great service from the staff made it all worth the 6 year wait! So in saying all that, I wish I could have given a 5 star review however the person who collected our money was not most friendly. On the brighter side I was amazed to see another fellow I used to see there all the time. This along with the great tasting food, it's nice to receive product that is the same consistency as it was 6 years ago. We eat here about once a week and the food has always been good or okay. It's close and never been bad or had bad service until tonight. I ordered a gyro platter and 2 orders steak over rice. We got home and had 1 gyro platter and 2 steaks in salad. I called and told them there was a mistake. They said they remember the order and will fix it. I sent my 16 year old in with the messed up food and they first tried to just give her rice so she could fix it herself. She refused and when we got back home they had just took the steak off the salads and threw them on rice and gave it all back to us. read more

They have gyros in three sizes for any size appetite, and a kids menu for those kids that say "what? Lamb meat.........yuck, that's gross, I'm not eating lamb meat!...." Clearly, no kid would say this if they knew what they were missing out on, but lets admit it, kids know it all right? Well not in this case. The sauce is different than other tzatziki sauces, it had more dill and less Greek yogurt, but was super tasty. My husband has resorted to refusing to go through the drive through because our order is wrong 95% of the time. Examples: I ask for no onions, I get onions. I ask for 1 chicken and 1 reg gyro, I get two regular. Etc. And the kicker is, I think they were trying to trick me because it was wrapped in the chicken wrapper. Dude, seriously... this spot is spot on delicious. My wife is Greek and we have tried every other gyro spot in town to look for a good quick pita joint and this is it. Most other gyro/pita huts on this side of HWY 71 are a mixture of Turkish/Arabic/Greek and the spices and seasonings are just off a little bit. Good if you like that, but my wife and I really prefer 100% Greek seasoning and spices for pita, gyro, pistachio, moussaka, etc. Now no kidding, this place is kinda in the hood, but the owner recently remodeled, the kitchen is CLEAN, and the pita is so freggin' good that I stop by like twice a week because we both work long hours, it's just easier and cheaper to grab a bite here on the way home than it is to cook.
