Fast service and good food. With nice and polite employees. Inside looked very clean and welcoming.

#7. Six oz. Gyro with Fries Combo

I've been coming to this gyro shop for as long as I can remember! They really are #1 in gyros! They also have a great selection of baklava that is delicious. Everything is made to order and the staff is always friendly!

I checked out Number One Gyro Shoppe after hearing good things about it. It's close to the casino. The area around there is kind of icky, but it's not the worst. It's owned by many of the other gyro shops around Columbus. That means it's not too bad. I had the usual fast food Greek available at any respectable Greek restaurant. It's menu includes common stuff like falafel. They also have fries, which aren't Greek. It has some combos on the menu. The falafel, fries, and beverage is about $7. It was a very good pita. The falafel was crispy and well seasoned. It came with a very good tahini sauce. The fries were not too salty while tasting fresh. I would tell others to not judge Number One Gyro Shoppe by the outside. It's not a nice area but this is one of the best places around it. The menu is the usual fast food Greek, but they make it fresher and it's a good value.

Been going here for years, my top place in Columbus for a gyro. Always fresh m& made to order. Absolutely delicious gyro's. A must stop place when your craving a gyro. Drinks are a lil small with the combo meals for paying almost $10. I hope maybe one day they'll increase the sizes. Other than that worth the cost.

Me: "Hello?" Voice on the phone: "Hey Mike. It's me. It's been a while." Me: "Yeah? Is this who I think it is?" Voice on the phone: "You bet buddy. It's your Sweet Tooth calling." Me: "Crap. What do you want this time?" Sweet Tooth: "Baklava. Go and get me a piece of that Pecan Baklava I like. You know, the one with the cherry on top. Actually, make that two, you've got an Entertainment Book coupon in your car glove box. They're about a five minute drive from where you are now." Me: "Alright, I'm on my way." So off I go to get a couple pieces of Baklava. If you haven't had it before, you are missing out. Crispy filo pastry, leaden with sweet honey and some of those sweet/crunch/chewy pecans all rolled together with a Maraschino cherry on top. Theirs is not homemade but it still really good. They were $1.89 each but I got two for that price. They tasted great with coffee by the way. So if your Sweet Tooth calls you, I'd recommend you check this place out.

I'll keep this short and sweet - great portions and delicious food! Yes, as stated by all the other yelpers, this is an old Taco Bell. Don't let the outer appearance of the restaurant stop you from enjoying reasonably priced and great tasting food. I'm not familiar with restaurants on this side of Columbus, so I did a yelp search, saw a familiar and reliable yelper's review and decided to check this place out. Glad I stopped in and didn't let the location keep me from missing out on a delicious gyro and great Greek salad. I got the mini combo which was more than enough food for me, which says a lot - I am a big eater. Good food, great portions, friendly staff, and reasonable prices - my type of place.

There is room to sit down and eat but I took mine to go. The two women I interacted with were great! Cordial, helpful and friendly. I received my meal very quickly! Where to begin...the fries, that I tried before I started the car to head home, were hot and perfectly cooked. Soft in the inside, perfect crunch on the outside. When I got them home, they were still crispy!! The gyro is huge! Should I eat the whole thing? No. Will I eat the whole thing? Likely. The seasoning on the chicken reminds me of the lamb I usually get with that same soft yet seared meat. The sauce is just wow! The baklava is 3 pieces in one, can't go wrong for $5.50. Tender, sweet, and delicious!

Generous portions for the King and just the right amount of onion. Some places go too strong with the onion. The standout was the sauce! Just had a nice garlicky zing to it. The fresh cut fries were a little greasy but still good. The sleeper was that Greek Custard tho. When you walk in you have a case of temptations staring at you. The custard got my attention. Cold and dense custard wrapped in filo dough then topped with cinnamon and honey drizzle. Dang. This thing played with my emotions. Just so good and sticky. I would make a trip here just for this. It all came to about $22 with a can of Diet Coke and it hit the spot. The gyro was in the top 3 I've ever had, the fries I didn't really care for, the dessert selection I would make a special trip for. Solid 4 Stars

I started with the Cauliflower Tahini Soup, followed by a build-your-own salad bowl, a Chocolate Chip Cookie, and a Minty Pink Lemonade. The soup had a rich, creamy texture, though I found it a little too salty for my taste. Not knowing exactly what to expect, I loaded up my salad bowl with lentils and rice, mixed greens, hummus, baba ghanoush, crispy onions, pita bread, chicken shawarma, brisket, sweet beets, pickled cucumbers, pickled radish, pickled cabbage, cauliflower tabbouleh, marinated eggplant, and finished it with Brassica's roasted garlic sauce and tahini. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and full of contrasting textures. The combination of crisp vegetables, savory proteins, and creamy spreads made for a hearty, satisfying meal that kept me full long after lunch. The Chocolate Chip Cookie was exactly how I like it--crispy around the edges with a slightly well-done finish and plenty of chocolate in every bite. To wash it all down, the Minty Pink Lemonade was the perfect balance of sweet, tart, and refreshing, complementing the bold Mediterranean flavors beautifully. Overall, Brassica is a great option for a quick, customizable meal made with fresh ingredients. While the soup wasn't my favorite, I'd happily return to build another salad and try more items from the menu.

The Friday Special, Lamb Mencef was delicious and could easily feed a family of four, with several sides also. Basically it is large pieces of Lamb and lots of yellow rice, and a wonderful sauce, so you need to order (or make) side dishes too. We both are in our late 70's and no longer have large appetites, so this dish lasted through several meals. We both are from the Midwest and lamb is rarely on menus here in America, and the lamb on this dish is about as good as it gets. Very mild and not dried out. Thanks for the recommendation, Summer!
