We're on the street is that they were copying off of, "MAZZAH" down in short North, NEW NICHE! this place seems like its trying to be the chipotle of Mediterranean. It's OK. I'll eat there once a year. It's just not that easy to get to you when you have to park it out of the car and go in. It would be cool if they had a drive-through for what they're doing but they do have a nice area where you can sit down and eat inside. Unfortunately the seats are hard as rocks. I don't know if that's to keep people moving through but the seats are literally solid wood so it's just a lunch stop you're not gonna be at too long. Definitely not a date place. STAND N WAIT: If you go there at lunchtime line starts building up the mail the restaurant back towards the door, and if there's five or more people you're going to be there for 20 to 30 minutes before you even get to the cash register. Definitely order ahead for takeout! BEST FEATURE: Sauce sampler: it seems like they give you up to six different sauces since they have them readily available to dip whatever you order in or put on your salad. DESSERT: you don't want to miss these little coconut chocolate rolled up donut looking balls of deliciousness that they keep over in the drink refrigerator. Mezze is pretty good though it's kind of a little overpriced. It's really good food so it's possible for me to make a return. This is worth a try. If it's not busy the experience will be better. They always seem to get something wrong. I like to get the bowl with falafel. It's about $8 for the regular size. There's a choice of getting a bowl, pita, or salad. It's a bit more food in a bowl. The rice you get is either the Mujadara or the white rice. Mujadara has more flavor so that's my choice. There's choices of proteins like chicken or tofu. It also has extra ingredients that mostly are free. They have an option of getting more protein but that's not necessary with it being big enough as is. The service is kind of iffy. It's gotten several orders wrong in several chances. The best times would be when it's not busy, then they're not in such a hurry. I would consider going to Mezze if in the area. It's good but there's plenty of really good Mediterranean restaurants in Columbus so it's not really all that special. This makes it more likely to choose somewhere closer and not this. read more

Okay, let's start with the upside. I placed an online order and my food was ready fairly quickly. Also, the staff were really nice when I walked in to pick up. Now, the downside is the food was just meh. I hope I'm not being a food snob, but this was the most American version of Mediterranean food I've ever had. Having lived in Greece for two years, I know it's hard to find food anything close to what I experienced in Greece. However, I've had some really good Mediterranean food in the States. Unfortunately, tonight's meal just didn't do it for me. The tzatziki didn't taste like it was made with yogurt. It tasted more like sour cream and/or mayonnaise. For my main entree, I ordered the 50/50 bowl with tilapia and the fish was okay. Not really that great. The rice was different. I remember when this place first opened, I really didn't want to drive all the way out to Gahanna to get Mediterranean food...but after I went the first time with a deal I kept coming back and introducing it to other people. Pretty sure it circulated Groupon/LivingSocial/Google Offers so I had a lot of deals for it and was a very happy camper. I really love the service here, they're so friendly, and love it when you are willing to try new things and take their recommendations. My first time they gave us a free sampler of their appetizers--hummus, baba ghanoug, tzaziki, spicy feta (my fave) with pita. For $11 (the LivingSocial deal + difference), we ordered falafel as well as chicken and gyro mujadara rice bowls (they let you sample the house rice and mujadara, and the latter was my favorite)...so good. I haven't been back to Columbus in over 1.5 years and I'm still thinking about my meals there...and my mouth is watering while writing this. Just go try it for yourself. My husband and I came here once when we were dating, and now that we're back in the area, decided to visit again. It was even better than before! The gyros were so tasty, every element was great. I loved the pita, the meat (I got grilled chicken), and the sauce. We split an order of fries and the employee gave us a spicy sauce to dip them in which was pretty good! The highlight of the meal though, was the baklava for dessert. My husband and I were fighting for the last bite, haha. So, you might be wondering what makes this place stand out from other similar restaurants in the area. For me it is: 1.) The quality of the food. Everything is fresh and delicious. 2.) Cleanliness of the restaurant. 3.) Very reasonably priced. For 2 gyros, fries, and baklava it was $19. 4.) Friendliness of the employees. The employee working when we visited had long, dark, curly hair in a ponytail, and he was incredibly helpful and nice, from the moment we went in, until the moment we left. He was excellent, and was extremely polite and helpful to every customer who came in. While we were eating, a girl came in who was allergic to dairy, soy, and gluten, and was asking him a ton of questions to determine what she could order. He went above and beyond, diligently checking each item to make sure she could find something to work for her. He was awesome! It's not hard - communicate with the dryer if he's picking up multiple orders at once and yours is the last one on the list then please don't hang make my ticket a half hour ahead of time. Can't wait till happy Greek and the rest of the neighborhood joints are open late on Sunday out of football season. I'm sorry but I will never go to your restaurant in person. OK so the owner called me the same night - which is very solid . I used to always order from DoorDash. Unfortunately I spend a lot of time on the road and my company credit card kept taking all our personal orders - and after about $1000 needless to say my wife was not very happy. I deleted the app and just decided to order from GrubHub in the future.. I believe the challenges with this order it's not on the restaurant but on Grubhub. If you have a driver that picks up nine orders and your last one your food is gonna be cold disgusting and probably laced with things that you never want to have in any part of your body. We UberEats and do Carry Out from here often! It's a great hole-in-the-wall establishment and their food is pretty consistently great! We have had a couple issues along the way (not getting delivered our full order and one time burnt gyro meat), but whenever we have had an issue, they are quick to credit us or send another order (i.e. the customer service has been top notch)! Additional Notes: The food is always ready quick and pretty consistently fresh, and the staff is super friendly every visit. This restaurant is in a strip and there is plenty of parking. On my way back from a long day outside I found myself looking for food on the northeast side. I am not too familiar with this area, however Mezze popped up on yelp and was highly rated. I was not disappointed. Initially, I thought this place was another chain due to the layout looking reminiscent of a Chipotle or a Panera. I was mistaken. The menu has a lot of options with the ability to mix and match until you've have designed a meal individual to you. I went with a mixed flavors of rice bowl with falafel. Now the sauce options are what really got me. I ordered every one and tried them all. You can tell they are made in house and fresh each day. I have to mention the tremendous service from the manager Morgan. He explained every ingredient, when things were made, and shared options of combinations. He allowed us to taste things before committing. Thankfully, because the spicy hummus is SUPER SPICY but delicious. This place has amazing food, but I don't often visit this location due to the congested mess of Hamilton Rd. Luckily, their food is now available for delivery through many services including Prime Now. Even though I feel the in house portions and presentation are much better, I can't resist the free delivery. This place is Chipotle style in concept, but has all of the Mediterranean classics from gyro and chicken shawarma to falafel and kafta. I was first drawn to the gyro pita with tzatziki sauce, but I've since found a new favorite in the shawarma bowl with house rice and dressing. It's not often that I'll choose rice over pita at most restaurants, but Mezze's house rice is delicious and the touch of cinnamon adds a nice warmth to the dish. I also find their house dressing to be more flavorful than their tzatzki. It's a creamy Greek style ranch, which sounds kind of disgusting with rice, but it's tasty. If ordering a pita, the fries are a must. Get more house dressing on the side for dipping and you'll thank me later. The fries really are best if you're eating in house, but sometimes I'll still order them for delivery even if they'll most likely be in a soggier state.
