Tired of giving this place second chances. Crappy tasting beer. Bottle beer tasted flat. Selection of beers on tap sucks.

Paid almost $14 for their daily special. It was ice cold. Had to wait for a cashier to cash me out for over 10 mins. Not impressed.

No stars, over priced fish wasn't cooked correctly. Is it so hard to get a decent meal in Beeville..?

We asked our kids what they wanted and they asked for Mexican food. Since we were on vacation, we went to the Riverwalk. We wrongly assumed this place had good food. We were wrong. To begin with, we had to pay for chips and salsa and then we were given store bought chips. The rice and beans were awful. My kids didn't eat them. My Southwest Salad had spring mix and a piece of grilled chicken...that's it! To finish off our dinner, the condensation from the AC was falling all over my kids and their food. We told the waiter and he went to get the manager. He wouldn't come out. He said to move tables. My daughter was so grossed out she didn't eat her food. I now know that the only reason this place is open is because of their great location. Otherwise, the food is awful and it is unsanitary. We paid the full bill, tipped the waiter, and left. I am so sad that because you have a great location you don't bother to step it up. Do better!

We've definitely experienced more attentive and engaging service elsewhere. I asked our server if the bistec taco was a top seller, and she seemed to take that as me ordering it which I get, things get busy, but it felt a little rushed. For appetizers, we ordered the guacamole and the chile con queso. The queso was actually pretty good and probably the highlight of the meal. The guacamole, however, fell flat for me. it definitely needed salt, pepper, and a good squeeze of lemon or lime to bring it to life. As for the entrees, I ordered the bistec tacos and was honestly disappointed. The meat was rubbery and lacked flavor. My husband got the shrimp aguachiles, and the shrimp were extremely soft almost raw and just tossed in the sauce. The presentation was beautiful, but it was missing that bright citrus and seasoning that really makes aguachiles shine. The seafood overall had a fishy/shrimpy taste that didn't come across as fresh. My mother-in-law ordered the Torre de mariscos, which leaned heavily on soy sauce and ended up overpowering the dish rather than enhancing it. Overall, the food just didn't wow us. Maybe my expectations are a little higher as a NOLA foodie, but this one missed the mark. Would I go back? Probably not.

The portions were generous, and the fresh tortillas and accompanying sides made for a satisfying meal. The restaurant's location along the River Walk adds to the experience, offering a nice atmosphere whether you're taking a break from sightseeing or looking for a casual dinner spot. Service was friendly, and the food came out promptly. I enjoyed my meal and would recommend Acenar, especially if you're looking for reliable Tex-Mex in a convenient location. The atmosphere and lighting create a very intimate vibe, and the darker setting really helps it stand out from other restaurants in Laredo. Just a heads up -- they do have a dress code, which honestly adds to the overall experience. The food was excellent. I ordered the chicken mushroom plate, and all the flavors were bold and well balanced. For drinks, I highly recommend the Jardin Eden. The fusion of lavender, blueberry, fruity liqueurs, and aromatic herbs made it one of the best cocktails I've had in a while. My only complaint was the service. We had a party of 10+ people with only one server assigned to us. He was very kind and professional, but it was difficult to find him throughout the night, especially when we were trying to pay our checks. The restaurant also wasn't very busy at the time, so service felt slower than expected. Overall, this is still a great spot for a special night out, and I would definitely come back.

The fish taco was ok but it had too much salt and could have done with some lettuce and cheese. No, but you can try it for yourselves (maybe not the potato and egg though).
