I am the last person to ever trust someone and the last person who would ever buy a motorcycle they have never seen in person from an ad online and then have it shipped to them from 4 states away. However, just so happens MG had my dream bike in their shop in VA and I had to do something. Mike and Emily are the opposite of the stereotypical used vehicle salespeople. They're the kind of people who give you hope that there are still people who care more about serving others than serving themselves. I truly think Mike is the kind of guy that would lose money before he compromised his integrity and never think twice about it. He was always quick to answer my calls and texts and was always checking in to make sure things were going okay. He walked me through every single step of the buying, shipping, insurance, registration process extremely thoroughly. helped me learn about maintenance of my particular bike etc etc etc. Bike was shipped to me flawlessly in less than 2 weeks after I paid.. these guys truly go the extra mile for their customers day in and day out. i can't say enough about what first class people Mike and Emily are and how first class this entire experience was without ever even setting foot in Virginia. So I'll just start by saying, the 200+ reviews already posted pretty much says it all. Mike and MG Motorsports simply is the best for many reasons from just top quality bikes to the prices he's offering his finely picked chariots right down to the type of man he is and the quality of customer service he provides. I was referred to Mike from a really close and personal friend that works in the shop at the back of MG Motorsports (Gemini which is also really great btw) and honestly he lives up to the expectations. I ended up purchasing a 2008 CBR1000RR from Mike this week. Long story short, I have extremely shaky credit due to some circumstances, but after riding the CBR I knew I just had to have it. Mike was MORE than accommodating (truly an understatement) to me and trying to find the right finance option. Overall the process took 3-4 weeks in trying different lenders that Mike had also recommended (which were also great, no surprise right?), he stuck with me every step of the way holding the bike until I could definitively determine whether or not I could get the numbers where they needed to be. First things FIRST: A+++++++!!! Where do I start? Mike and the sales and tech team were absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. I wandered in off the street looking for a bike and came away with BIKEZILLA (a ridiculously beautiful and PERFECTLY prepped 2013 Suzuki "Bully" M109R) with all business completed in 48 hours from when I first walked through the door. That included a truly comprehensive array of mechanical service, maintenance updates, and vehicle detailing, most of which the team completed (on a holiday!) without being asked to. The pride in delivery is blindingly obvious at MG. And ALL of this for the very, very best price/value I could find within a 250-mile radius of my home. I could not possibly be happier with this new bike ... I put over 100 miles on it after picking it up, just doing laps around Fairfax and grinning ear to ear. But the bacon bits on this awesome salad were the no-shizz "get it done" friendly attitudes of Mike and his staff who each seemed to address ALL of my questions and requests before I could even ask them. This shop is fantastic due completely to the owner, Mike Gardner and his employees. First off, the shop doesn't have regular hours everyday but Mike will ALWAYS go out of his way (with everything) to help the customer. He meets you when you are available to show bikes or do maintenance and completely tries to help the customer. He is so easy to work with and truly an honest, upfront individual. I choose to purchase through his shop foremost because I felt he was the most sincere salesperson I'd ever met (but also one of the most sincere people I've ever met). Secondly, he provided me any and all information I requested like pictures for the bikes, maintenance performed, and any historical information he had. After I purchased the bike, our relationship didn't end there. I didn't start my used bike for a month after purchase and after a cold month the engine wouldn't turn over. His mechanic, Evan (also awesome) came over VERY late one night because I wanted to ride my bike the next day. He changed out my battery for a new one and sold me a battery tender for a reasonable price. They made sure I could ride the next day and were so flexible to help me out. The best place ever, simply put. Incredible service, incredible people, and a fantastic selection of high quality, well priced bikes. Mike, the owner is a truly good man who intends on doing right by absolutely everyone that he meets and helps. I personally purchased a 2007 GSX-r 600 from him and this bike was flawless. He gave it to me at a price that was in my budget and worked with me to ensure it was everything that I wanted. When I visited him the first time it was from a craigslist ad and I when I got therected he allowed me to test drive not only the bike I came to see but also 4, yes 4, other bikes that he had on the floor to ensure it was really what I wanted. After all that I ended up with the bike I have now. Even after I was finished buying the bike he has still been fantastic to me. On the ride home for some reason the mirror came off the left side. I immediately brought it back to Mike who already had a replacement ready to go, installed and sent me on my way at absolutely no charge other than a half hour of my time. I usually don't write reviews but Mike and his team were so great I had to!!! A very huge THANK YOU to Mike, Coleman, Pat and Emily for helping me with my first motorcycle purchase. They were all very communicative, prompt, excited and eager to get me on my first motorcycle. Mike & his team really go above and beyond for you like nothing I've seen before. As soon as you put in an inquiry about a motorcycle just know you're in good hands. There was a small hiccup in the beginning but Mike assured me he only sells quality bikes. He made a YouTube video and explained everything perfectly of what the hiccup was and why it happened which turned out to be a non-issue! The bike worked perfectly fine but then I ran into an issue (on my end, first bike so still learning lol) but no worries because Pat came to the rescue in a jiffy and took my bike back to the shop where they were able to fix it right up. My review is based on selling an R6 to Mike Gardner, which was a really pleasant experience. I had my bike listed on Craigslist, and one of his guys reached out to me to set up the meet. Craigslist exchanges are generally a little peculiar (read: will I live?), and for some reason motorcycle meet-ups seem especially anxious. Any and all of those negative feelings went away within about 30 seconds of talking with Mike. My experience with Mike was arguably the best possible experience I could've imagined, short of him offering my over what I was asking (ha). He is very knowledgeable, doesn't BS you, is pretty friendly, and generally is an honorable man, which is a title I don't give out freely. He pointed out valid concerns with the bike and associated costs for each - which seemed very reasonable - and we came to an agreement after a rational/logical negotiation. I recently bought my first motorcycle from MG Motorsports, and I cannot speak highly enough of them. As a new rider, I was looking for a dealership that was trustworthy, and where I could be reasonably assured of the quality of the product. After reading many positive reviews online, I decided to visit MG Motorsports. I was not disappointed. Mike is extremely friendly and forthcoming, not to mention patient and happy to answer any questions, no matter how silly. The entire transaction was very transparent. I had frame sliders added to my bike, for which Mike had originally quoted me a certain price. The final price ended up being a bit higher, but he only charged me the initially quoted price, which was fair and honest. I have purchased two bikes from Mike, including my first bike. Mike went well above and beyond, as a beginner I felt so stupid and knew very little. He provided me amazing knowledge regarding use, purchase, safety, types of bikes etc. I relied on before and after my purchase. He was always available to answer my questions and always provided unbiased support/response. In addition, for a small amount he sold me a "starter pack" gloves, helmet, and jacket that I still use today almost 2 years later. I know he's been in the business as both a dealer and rider for MANY years, glad to see he's officially has a shop now, well deserved and I expect it will do very well. Tough to find honest people, personable, people that truly have the customers best interests in mind, but Mike is one of them for sure. At first I thought all the reviews were too good to be true but getting to experience Mike's service first hand I can say that the customer oriented experience that everyone raves about is an understatement. Mike seems to have a genuine love for the motorcycle life style and was excited to get me back into riding bikes after being off two wheels for almost ten years. After purchasing my bike I experienced a minor issue with the bike. I gave Mike a call, after hours, to bounce some potential issues off of him. If I could give more stars I would. I approached Mike about a month ago in search of a bike. Even though the bike I wanted sold, he said he had plenty others in store and would like to earn my business. I figured I'd give him a shot and I am glad I did. Mike and Josh met me (off normal business hours), answered all of my questions, and even gave me some time to think about the bike before I committed to buying my Ninja 636. Mike stayed engaged with me throughout the whole process via phone calls and text messages, and when it was time to get the bike, paperwork was a breeze! Went here to figure out what had went wrong with my bike since the headlight bulbs would pop. I spoke with Mike when I got there and he told me he would help me out. Now I know what it means to order OEM and get serviced, especially within Covid times, but thankfully Mike understood the situation and helped me out in the best way he could. He was very informative and kept me up to date with what was going on with my bike. Due to Covid, the part took a while to arrive but I was worryfree because of Mike's helpfulness and continual reassurance that I would be back on the road as soon as he could get the part. You don't need to worry about any shady business with him unlike some people on craigslist or even the bigger name dealers in the area. I was interested in a bike that ended up being out of my price range but thankfully Mike had many other bikes in stock and I found an 03 CBR600rr I ended up buying from him. Despite it being somewhat of an older bike with higher miles, I had 0 concern riding out of there because of the trust I had in Mike. Went in to look at a motorcycle advertised on Craigslist. Walked away with one that better fits what I was looking for. Prices very comparable to what you'd get in a private party sale, but the bike has been inspected (MG is colocated with Gemini - MG sells, Gemini services) and has the dealer's reputation behind it. If you're looking for a sport bike, MG is a great place to shop. Bikes come with a warranty, but the warranty is typically short (length and number of miles), so think of it as insurance that you didn't get a lemon, not something that will cover you for the next year - and plan on breaking your bike in as soon as you can get it registered/insured. read more
