I could tell the individual in the service department didn't give a crap about the 3k in work that I wanted to get done when he took my call. "Just drop it off" is cool when you're working out of your shed, But not when you're running a multi million dollar operation; how about an appointment? Or taking my name? Year of bike? They gave me a fair trade on my old bike. And I found the new bike on the internet and live 210 miles away. Phil was my salesperson, it took about 5 days back and forth on the phone and sending pics of my trade and the days he was off Crag the sales manager answered all my questions and also took the time to talk to my insurance agent to make sue all the information was correct. Got up early Saturday morning drove 2hours and 30 minutes and was welcome when I arrived by Phil and Crag And when it was time to finalize the contract Mike in the finance depth made it a easy and a pleasant experience and that's for real bought many cars and bikes and Mike takes the time to listen and answer all questions. When I got home I had a small issue and Chris the General manager was very apologetic and made good on the issue. I have one dealer that owns two stores in my area and very little to choose from. When I walked in to Bull Run Harley Davidson I almost changed my mind cause of the large amount of stock they have. Saw the parts on the showroom area is full of everything you need for cleaning and accessories for your motorcycle. I really wish I had a dealership in my area like this. I visited Whitt's one evening to look at Harley's - having decided I wanted a motorcycle - to try and narrow it down to which one(s) I was interested in. It was a cold and rainy weeknight - so there were not many customers when we arrived. Whitt's has a decent selection of bikes, although it appears to be somewhat smaller than some of the other Harley dealerships I've recently visited (Waugh in Orange, VA and Patriot in Fairfax, VA). I sat on a number of bikes and talked through things with my friends. I started to realize that I really like the Heritage Softail Classic! There were a couple of older guys working the floor that offered to assist and answer questions - but we really did not need any help at that point. Whitt's has a nice selection of gear and apparel, I'm sure I will be back to check out their gear once I have a Harley! read more

I'm shopping for a new Road Glide. As I meet a sales person in each dealership, I'm very up front that I'm shopping price. At Bull Run, the sales guy was very nice, very genuine to start. He gave me a competitive quote and asked that I do him the courtesy of giving him a chance to best any better price. Being true to my word, I called him back with the best price I'd been given. He told me he'd check with manager and get back to me. I waited two days- - crickets - -. He'd found out they couldn't match the deal, so I was dead to him and not worth his effort to give me the same courtesy of a call to let me know they were out. Common courtesy is not common. Such a horrible experience. Me and my husband went there to pick up side mirror for my motorcycle which We had order 3 weeks back. Once we pick up We want to install it. As they said they said we should make the schedule for other day. As it is just a screw work I ask them to borrow a ranch so We can fix it. They denied to give me a ranch and I want to see the manager. I went to the manager and manager told me we don't let borrow anything to anybody even for a min. And he said me out from the store. DO NOT BUY RIDING CLASSES FROM BULL RUN HARLEY! They have absolutely no customer follow-up and I am completely disappointed in their lack of response. Like most, I was so excited to learn to ride a Harley and buy a Harley from Bull Run. The first day of classes at Bull Run dealership the Harley training motorcycle was not charged so class ended early without any practice. Bull Run Harley sub-contracted the next 2 motorcycle classes to Powerride University. The Powerride coaches are not there to teach you how to ride, they shout and berate you for not knowing how to ride a motorcycle on the first day of class. My last 3 emails have been ignored by Bull Run Harley about my experience. Bull Run Harley is the one that charged me for my classes and they have completely disregarded me with absolutely no customer service. I hope this warning will help others who plan to take the riding class through them so you will not waste your precious money and time. Needless to say I will not be purchasing a Harley from a dealership that provides ZERO support to paying customers. read more

We dropped our '96 HD Eletro Glide Trike off Monday morning and as of today no word from the dealership as to the problem, when we will get the trike back, nothing! I had my eye on a used 2018 FatBoy Anniversary edition. I have the limited Ultra and wanted to add as a bar hopper. Thierprice on the bike was competitive with other dealershIps. I felt the price was still too high. (Don't we all. Ha ha. ) Anyway, they worked with me and we negotiated onn a price. They were very flexible and professional. I am very pleased with this dealership so far. The salesman, manager and finance guy were awesome. This is my 4th Harley and 4th dealership. I put these guys at the top. They are not the closest dealership to me but it was definitely worth the trip. Update. So I haven't picked up the bike yet because they had to change the handlebars, add a back shifter and a mustache motor guard. I though this would take a couple days at most. I have since been told they are waiting on parts and don't know when they will be in. I find this a little hard to believe. Are the parts coming from China or are you using the Pony Express to get the parts? This is 2020. Amazon would have had them to you the next day. The dealership is ordering the parts from Harley. I thought they have ordered from them before. To say we don't know when they will get to us is not a good answer. Ever. After 5 days you should at least know when you will have the parts. Meanwhile I can't ride my bike and don't know when I will be able to. This is a 2018 Fatboy. The same model as the 2019 and 2020. The parts are the same. Harley is still making this exact model. I'm not asking for parts to a 40 year old Harley. Needless to say at this point I'm very disappointed in this dealership. Salesman was great, but so far the level of customer care has dropped off a cliff. I will keep you updated as I know more. Well it's Friday near the end of the day. This is my second purchase at HD Bull Run. The customer service at this dealership this week was spot on. Jim was absolutely amazing, he must have showed me about 675 bikes to help me find the right bike for me within my budget. I am so happy with my 2011 Dyna Super Glide. The finance Manager Mike was equality great, offered me all the extras but put no pressure. I came back the next day to purchase a cover for my bike, me and my fiancée met Jeremy at the parts department, he was extremely knowledgeable and already had a great plan to make my bike look even better. He offered so many great suggestions and was so excited to talk Dyna with us. Overall, everyone was great and made me feel like I was part of the HD family now. read more

My July 20. 2017, experience was not at all good. I'm a longtime customer, but no longer! Whitt's lived up to their rep as an exceedingly rude dealership. An employee actually said that, because I hadn't spent much money at the dealership this year, they couldn't help me resolve the situation that their parts department created. BTW:// I dropped over $200 there today. This started when I called to check on the availability of an accessory for my motorcycle. It was in stock! Normally, they aren't at Whitt's. I thought I was in luck. Ha! Not! The parts desk then proceeded to mess up my credit card order over the phone. My card was charged for the accessory but Whitt's claims that it wasn't -- even though I e-mailed them a copy of my credit card statement. Long and short, they're refusing to release the merchandise. And they blame me for their employee fouling up the phone transaction. They couldn't pull off a card card purchase over the phone, so I get the blame ... their longtime customer. There are plenty of Harley dealers in the D.C. area. Don't give this one your business. They apparently don't want it and certainly don't appreciate it. The last time I walk in will be when I pick up the part I paid for. Or I'll have to file a fraudulent transaction claim with the credit card company. Thanks Whitt's! You guys suck! read more

The store itself is great, but let me be clear about my lack of stars up front: the manager (I assume) was one of the rudest, most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with in customer service. It's a shame that his actions cost this Harley dealership a returning customer...along with a few stars on a Yelp review. "D" was working the parts counter and he was extremely helpful. A very nice man who went out of his way to tell me about a part I had questions about for my husband's Harley. The girl working the main counter was also very helpful, looking online to see about an out of stock item in another store and calling for me to be sure it was available. If l only had contact with these two people, my review would've been 4 stars easy. Their stock is good both on parts and clothes. I was able to find the part I wanted and one of the two clothing items I was looking for, so I was happy about that. The encounter with the manager came when I was checking out. I had received a coupon in the mail for 15% off an item in the parts department and 20% off an item in the clothing department. There was no specific Harley dealership name on the coupon itself, it simply said Harley Davidson on it. We get many offers in the mail from Harley Davidson and area Harley dealerships, so I thought nothing of trying to use this coupon on my purchases here, thinking it was a universal coupon. "D" had to call this man over because he was not sure about the coupon. He comes over and begins the conversation with an attitude, asking where the coupon came from. I explained it came in the mail, but that I did not know if it was from a dealership or from Harley Davidson because the top of the mailer was ripped off already. He implied that I was trying to get one over on them and that I knew the coupon was not theirs. He asked twice where it came from and I explained both times that I had gotten it in the mail a few weeks before and that I could not remember from who. I also explained that it just said Harley Davidson on it, so I thought it could be used at any dealership. I really felt that his rude demeanor was uncalled for. He could have simply stated that they did not accept coupons there and I would have said ok & gone about my day. Instead, he spoke to me rudely in front of his staff member and my mother and he implied that I was trying to be dishonest. I bought the items there because they were Christmas presents and in-stock Harley items are hard to come by during the holidays, but I will never return to this dealership. After a friendly waive from the guy at the desk, I went into the used bike area and was allowed to do just that - wander around on my own. My boyfriend bought a bike from them in july. it took me 6 months to even agree to go with them because they make me so nervous. The salesman was very honest and told me about the classes that we could take to make us safer and smarter on the road. Ever since then, we have gone back tons to get ourselves outfitted for riding. The girls that run the apparel department are so sweet, and the give me advice about whats best for riding for me in particular. A few weeks ago, my boyfriend wrecked his bike by manassas battlefield, and they were very helpful in the parts department when it came to telling us what we needed to do to get his bike fixed fast. And after only getting some minor service on my bike I started annually receiving the new HD parts catalogs from them (a nice thing to keep around). As an example of how Whitt's will go out of their way, consider during this year's "Rolling Thunder". I have been nothing but happy with both my buying and service experiences at Whitt's Harley Davidson. I was shopping for a new motorcycle in March 2014. I was going back and forth between a few different models and made at least 5 trips to this dealer before buying. My salesman, Jim, was extremely patient and never put any pressure on me. Whitt's allowed me to test ride the bikes I was looking at, and ultimately matched the price I received at another local dealership. I've had my bike in for service twice now and both experiences were great. My latest visit involved a minor recall that required an inspection of the brake lines. I stopped by this morning and the service manager told me to stick around while they performed the work. They took my bike in right away and took care of the issue. I enjoyed a free cup of coffee while I chatted with the owner and other staff. Within 30 minutes I was back on the road. To make a long story short, while shopping for my bike, my friends were telling me to use other local Harley dealerships that they liked. My preference was to stick with Whitt's as I live closest to them and wanted to have a relationship after my bike's purchase. I'm glad I made my purchase at Whitt's and would highly recommend them to anyone in the northern Va. area. read more

I purchased a band new 2020 Fatboy 30th Anniversary addition. Great bike. I had an issue where the bike would not start. Lights worked, kept bike on a tender, voltage was fine, but simply would not even turn over. 30 minutes later the bike starts. 10 minutes later won't start again. I called the shop, spoke to the service department. They told me to bring the bike in. Bike would not start. I asked if they would pick it up since it will not start. I was told that they have been busy so they are no longer providing that service but here is a company that we recommend you have tow it for you. Really? One of the reasons I purchased at Bull Run was because they had a pickup service. I'm about done with these big car companies buying up the HD dealerships not knowing a damn thing about bikes. I won't go there again for anything. If I break down in front of there store, I will call another dealer. Yup, that bad. read more

I have always had good shopping experiences. I haven't used the service department but their parts and clothing departments are great! When you walk in the door, there are always sales reps there to greet you (of course) but they aren't overly stalkerish when you look around at bikes. Specifically, the parts department employees rock! There has always been someone available to help me when needed and they know their stuff quite well. I've always gotten good answers from them. The parts manager, Robin, is really nice and really helped me out recently with a problem I had with some parts I got from them. I feel like he really went out of his way to help me and I truly appreciate it. The location is really convenient and the store is always neat and organized. Inventory is usually good and turnaround time on orders is pretty standard compared to other dealers I have used. The last part I ordered took three days which wasn't bad. It would probably be quicker to order online but then you can't take advantage of Whitt's rewards program so the wait is worth it for big stuff. Their rewards program is pretty standard. A point per buck and the rate increases as you build points. Military gets 2x points which is greatly appreciated! I always look forward to stopping here for parts and I'm quite sure my next bike purchase will be from Whitt's! read more

This review addresses the absolute worst customer service I've ever received from Bull Run H-D's, deplorable Service Department in Manassas, VA. Too many bad things happened while they had my bike in their shop for nearly 3 weeks. The Service Manager there is totally incompetent. They lost my parts and then accused me of not bringing them in. They accused me of breaking a part without knowing the facts. They sent me off after paying with a near empty tank and refused to give or sell me two gallons to get to a gas station. They completely ignored my letter that listed everything in detail that I wanted them to complete. My bike wasn't broken, I had made several upgrades to the bike and got hung up on closing my throttle control housing. I had upgraded my handlebars and cables but could not close this housing properly without pinching some wires inside the housing. So all I wanted was for them to close this housing and finish putting my bike back together as well as install 3 new parts i wanted to purchase and have them install. Almost three weeks to do what shouldn't have taken more than two days at most to complete. Their Sr. Mechanic had a sour disposition. They didn't hardly communicate with me, ignored my questions and neglected me terribly. This Service Department then overcharged me with a bill of $1400.00 They wouldn't help me with some new LED mirrors I wanted installed. They never installed the parts I wanted and their mechanic didn't complete several other items I had requested they finish. The store looks beautiful, packed with bikes, clothes and accessories. What is missing here is a positive, friendly attitude. These folks are plain rude, they walk around with chips on their shoulders and did a horrible job on my bike! I would never, ever bring my bike to them again for air in my tire. I've never seen anything like this. Their service department is the worst I've ever been to. So my fellow bikers, this is my warning to you. If you are considering taking your bike to their Service Department, think again about what you are getting yourself into. I'm a disabled veteran and they sent me off with fumes in my tank. They never carried my wheels and tires to my car for me. Nobody came out when I paid my padded bill to even discuss the bill, what was done and what as overlooked by an inept, Service Manager. This is a new dealership and I had hoped it would be a great experience for me for future business opportunities and a place I could take my bike and trust that they had my best interests at heart. What I got was over-charged by snobby, incompetent people that seem to hate customers! Stay away from Bull Run HD. Of course if they think you are there to drop 50K on a new bike, they would probably break a leg to get to you. It's all about the money and nothing about the customer. The worst! read more

The people at Whitt's is what make it what it is. I bought my 2010 FLHX there. No pressure, quick turn around. I was introduced to all the staff, sales, parts, service and got the tour to include the service area. I've had the 1000 and 5000 mile services performed there. They took excellent care of my bike. Joe got me in right away. I've bought accessories through parts a couple of times and the service was excellent. It's further than the other HD dealer in NoVA but to me it is worth the time to get treated like a member of the family as opposed to an interruption. read more

After going to a different Harley dealer, it was a breath of fresh air to step into Whitt's. The salesperson, Kevin, was nice and very helpful. When it was time to make a deal, he didn't make the experience agonizing like most dealers. He was very upfront. We never felt like he was being dishonest with us. The financial manager was the best we have ever encountered. He gave us the information we needed, but didn't try to upsell us with warranties or gap coverage. Overall, the experience was very good. I've been to Harley's all over the world from Virginia to California to South Korea. Worst store I've been in. I walked in and the employees looked right at me, made eye contact and looked back down at their computer screens or carried on their conversations with each other. Not one person gave a greeting or acknowledged that I had walked into the store. I walked around the store for 30 minutes without being asked once if I needed help with anything. I was going in to by a riding jacket but changed my mind due to the lack of service. I'll take my $600 to another location and purchase the jacket there. It's not like the store was busy either. I've been going to the Bull Run Harley Davidson Dealership since 2008 and although I always found their staff polite and professional, I have lost confidence in their ability to properly service my motorcycle. I was involved in a motorcycle accident in June of this year. I didn't appreciate that it took them three weeks to conduct a damage assessment and another eight weeks to get all of the replacement parts but I understood they were trying to be fair to other customers although there were efficiencies that could have been gained if they changed their business practices. What caused me to lose faith in their Service Department is when I took my motorcycle in for its safety inspection after a few weeks of getting the bike back and just 500+ miles of riding, I was told the brake pads were dangerous. When I took it back to Bull Run, the Technician admitted that the pads were "paper thin" (his words) and had no explanation why they were not addressed when they repaired the bike. (The whole front end, forks, faring, tire, was replaced.) I don't know how they missed the brake pads. The final straw was when I turned on the heated hand grips last and they didn't work. Again, not long after the motorcycle was repaired. When I contacted the Service Department, I was told that heated grips go out. I told them that they worked fine before the accident and I was sure someone had not hooked them up properly. It turned out that was the issue. However, this is the second time I've had the motorcycle in for service and when I got home something didn't work. The first time was a clutch sensor. I will say that on the last two instances the Dealership did move me to the front of the line, gave me a deal on the brakes and fixed the grips at no charge. I no longer feel that when I get my motorcycle back from them after servicing that the motorcycle is safe to ride. I will no longer be patronizing their Dealership. read more

Been waiting on parts way to long. I ordered parts back on the 21st of July and still waiting. When I first placed the order they told me it would be a week to receive, after first week they then told me it would now be the 18th of Aug. I called for the parts on fri and have now been given a new date of Sept 1st, keep in mind that I have already paid for the parts that were $420.00. They are blaming Harley Davidson on the hold up! We as customers buy great motorcycles at a big price and it makes no since to me why we can't get parts in a timely manner! These are not odd parts, they are parts used to build the bikes. Very frustrated. I bet it would have been different if I had dropped the bike off and paid them to repair it. I know they wouldn't want the bike in the shop for over six weeks. Don't get it. Update Sept 1st. Called today to check on my parts that was supposed to be here today, 9-1-17 the 4th date that they have given me for the parts to be received! Well, you guessed it, I have a new date now of the 8th. Each time I haven't received a phone call telling me that they won't be in, I must call to find out! Good buying experience. I put about 30 miles on a bike to ensure that it was the bike I wanted. After my ride, I went ahead and bought it. Financing rates are extremely good right now. I got 2.99% through them, which is way lower than I was able to find anywhere else. I have no complaints except for the fact that the weather has not been conducive to riding. read more

This place is only for new riders and forget about it you don't have a new Harley. The parts counter is absolutely ridiculous. They don't carry any parts for anything older than a Twin Cam. There are over a million EVOs on the road and they don't even carry spark plugs for them. All parts for EVOs are considered obsolete. Remember that when your twin cam turns ten and they no longer make or sell parts for it. I try to ask a simple question that any parts guy should know and they look at me like I'm speaking another language. They have no experience with motorcycles and don't understand the basics of how an engine works. I have to go to the Honda shop to order generic things for my bike, like cable lube, which isn't the way it should be. On top of that, they will only install tires if you buy them from them. Harley is the only manufacturer that uses a non-metric axle, therefore they are the only ones that have a balancing machine for that size axle. So, you have to buy your tires from the dealership for life if you want the wheels balanced. ON TOP OF THAT, THEY CHARGE MORE FOR TIRES THAN ANYONE ELSE IN THE COUNTRY. FULL MSRP WHICH NO ONE CHARGES! No other manufacturer has this policy. If you are middle-aged and have never ridden a bike before, then this place is for you. They will sell you a $20,000 bike and help you pick out all the chrome covers and add ons that you could imagine. If you are an experienced rider or expect some support from the factory after you leave, you probably already understand the futility of asking the dealership for anything. I've even been told by one of the service guys that their job is mostly to install accessories. I've been to Whitt's a half dozen times trying to get parts for my bike and every time I've just left shaking my head.
