Upon reflection, NO I won't be by Tuesday which is your earliest convenience so you can scan my car for more issues that your team has caused. I will go to my trusted mechanic and never use Valvoline again. In fact I have already begun warning my friends of your incompetent and rude services. I thought the manager was professional but his cute giggle after my call explaining I could not make it this morning and would be in this afternoon sealed the deal. Arrogance, rude, ridiculous arrogance. I have used this location for upward of 20 years not consistently but whenever I am in the neighborhood and need an oil change. The new guard is young, and barely speak. Bark orders at you from the moment you roll in, and then do the classic up-sell. They up-sold me an air filter on April 17th and I bit. The next day my car was jerking (old manager boy let me know that there is a difference between jerking and shaking as if that were super critical to me and my situation.) I am a teacher and have few days off of luxury. I took a day to run errands and returned to Valvoline to let them know that something was wrong. Alas they showed my the air filter box they had broken. They scrambled and scratched heads, called manager. I sat at their place for more than two hours of my day. They finally told me they would do a temporary fix for my car and the part would be in four days later. The fix. The fix was in a Home Depot bag on my engine. Tape. They taped my damaged air box together. It jerked and shook more as per my laments understanding of my car. I felt concerned this could further damage my engine. I contacted corporate and have yet to hear from them either. Taped my air filter box. Tape. I could have had my early elementary school children do the temporary fix. I got the call for the part in two days. Maybe corporate called them to repair this. Who knows? I've communicated with 0 professionals. They replaced the filter with a new one (they showed me the box.) I drove away and low and behold, when it idles it JERKS. I came back. A young mechanic tells me that's what happens when a vehicle has over 100,000 miles on it. What a laugh. My vehicle has about 67,000 miles on it and was fine before any Valvoline folks laid their hands on it. Old manager comes on out and drives it. That's when my wording was corrected. Sir, my wording doesn't matter. Fix what you broke. Yep, it's jerking. He pokes around, I stand around, he unscrews, etc, etc, etc. Says he needs a scanner to check. Tells me to come in tomorrow. I am a teacher. I have 0 tomorrows. Tells me to come in 7-8am Saturday. I worked over a twelve hour shift yesterday. I need my car, I need it to work well, and you need to meet my timeline because my car had 0 issues until your service center. ZERO. I call to come in this afternoon. He won't be there. As a manager you should probably be there to fix what your team broke, to make right, to rectify. These mechanics and this manager seem to give no cares about the consumer. The Valvoline office is obviously the same. I am very curious to see what my solid and steadfast mechanic will tell me you all did to my car. Not you, not Tuesday and not ever. I will use my mechanic for my oil changes. Not this crew. If you like to gamble on the health of your vehicle, go to them for a quick change. Otherwise use someone with integrity.

I had two vehicles that needed oil change then here's comes a coupon in the mail to the rescue... it was time to get 'er done! Each vehicle was easy in and out. Just know, they work to upsell you on higher grade oil, air filter, cabin filter, etc. Just say no. Everyone has always been nice, polite, very professional in the 20 years off and on that I've been going in there. It's just "Jiffy!"

On July 25, 2026, I visited Jiffy Lube for a routine tire rotation. Immediately upon leaving, I…read morenoticed a severe "crunching" noise and a rough ride. I returned to the shop the exact same day, asking staff to recheck the wheels. I was assured the tires were completely fine. The rough ride persisted, prompting me to return a second time on August 2, 2026, specifically requesting that the lug nuts, brakes, and rotors be inspected. Again, the staff failed to perform an accurate diagnostic and told me nothing was wrong. Driven by safety concerns, I took my vehicle to Firestone Complete Auto Care on August 7, 2026. Firestone mechanics discovered that the front left studs and one rear right stud had been cross-threaded during Jiffy Lube's tire rotation. I was informed the vehicle was unsafe to drive. Firestone replaced the damaged studs and lug nuts for a total of $462.20. On August 18, 2026, the service manager at the Austin Hwy location informed me that a refund was denied because Jiffy Lube was not given the opportunity to decide where the vehicle was fixed under their warranty terms. I gave the facility two separate opportunities (July 25 and August 2) to honor its workmanship, diagnose the issue, and correct its error. The staff repeatedly failed to meet the standard of a good and workmanlike manner and certified a hazardous vehicle as safe. I will be following up with corporate jiffy lube. Don't waste your time with the location. A $25 simple tire rotation on a Honda crv turned into a $462.20 fix. Update 3 Sep 2026: Spoke with the District Manager who addressed and resolved the issue.

The facility is clean, has good hours, and is conveniently located in the middle of Fort Sam. They are usually able to get our vehicle in quickly and service it quickly. I feel that they do a thorough job, explain things well, provide accurate and detailed quotes, and never try to upsell us. I trust the staff there to give me honest information about my car (and yes, I have gotten 2nd opinions for the pricier jobs, and I do have more than a basic underatanding of vehicles). If there is ever an issue, they make it right. We will continue to use Firestone for the services they are able to provide. *They do not do transmission flushes, so we will go elsewhere for that, but if they did, I'd use them.

I dropped my car off at 8am in my work parking lot. By 8:25am I had a call from them letting me know that it was completed. I walked back down to pick up my keys and pay. They had checked the oil, brakes, coolant, power-steering, tire pressure, washer-fluid, belts, air-filter (no pressure sales!), hoses, etc. They noted that I needed to get my inspection and registration renewed by the end of the month, and all for less than I pay at the local express-oil-change-rip-off stations. I cannot recommend this service enough. The most time-consuming part of this entire experience was walking the extra 5 minutes to my desk from the drop-off. It couldn't be any easier unless they snuck in at night to borrow your keys and did it while you slept, like a magical group of oil-change gnomes. They let me know that along with oil changes, they do other routine maintenance stuff like bulbs, belts, wipers, and other fluids. There is absolutely no reason to ever give the stop-and-gouge oil-change places another dime - not while this service exists, at least.
