Great burgers and desert in a causal setting. Service was fast and accurate. Will go back.

We were really looking forward to MG's based on all the high ratings/reviews; however, there were a few detractors on the experience. Let's start with the pros: reasonably priced menu, interesting 50-60's decor, very friendly staff, fair portion sizes, crispy tots, plenty of ranch for dipping, & better than avg burgers (mostly related to the fresh buns). The cons unfortunately had a material impact on the rating: just after ordering near the kitchen was an extremely bad smell (like sewage), that caused us to have to move to the front corner of the store. The nuts & bolts (fried pickles & zucchini) were first out but were dreadfully under fried, mostly the zucchini, and inedible. The pickles were good. The fries in my wife's basket also very under fried and mushy (perhaps there was a newbie on the fryer?). Overall, if we were local to Sherman, we might give it another try, but we drove from Prosper. So from us, it's a 3/5. read more

Mg's has the best hamburgers and fries. They are named after cars. Staff is very friendly. Place is clean. I highly recommend MG's.

First time eating here. The place is an actual old times garage turned into a burger place. Nicely lit, decor is obviously car. Tables and booths. You order at the cash register and pay then sit down. The menu has burgers, appetizers, sandwiches, salads, and dinners (about 5 options). All staff were friendly. And the manager came around all the tables checking on everyone in the restaurant. 3 people for dinner-we ordered burgers 1) The Dodge with fries w/tea 2) The Cadillac with onion rings w/tea 3) The Chevy with onion rings One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. ~Sherman, Tx~ This is my 3rd time here and the Hamburgers, Chicken Fried Steak Burger, are both delicious. They use fresh baked bread from "Moms Bakery" right door. I usually have Tator Tots with my burger which are fresh, hot, and crunchy.! They have different varieties of Burgers to choose from. It's extremely clean, and the staff is top notch. They check on you and don't just leave you, once they serve you. It's built in an old Gas Station with amazing old car decor. It's very retro like a 1940/50's style diner inside with old gas pumps out front. I've always enjoyed my visits here and will be returning. read more

Very overpriced food , they threw my meal together horribly and overall just unsatisfied with the whole service.

The place was packed with a little league baseball team and all the parents. It was really loud. The service was pretty quick considering how full the place was. We got our burgers in 4 minutes. We decided to run over to Sherman at the last minute, and at the last minute decided to try MG's and we were thrilled with our experience. Was visiting parents up in Sherman with my kiddos and decided to take them out to dinner. They wanted to go to the bowling alley but decided to look for something on Yelp and MG's was top 1. My parents having retired to Sherman only 2 years ago never heard of the place. Looked interesting and fun so loaded up and went. First off, good on MG's for putting such an eclectic and interesting place in what appears to be a regular suburb. We knew it was cool as soon as we saw the vintage Esso gas pumps, Sinclair dinosaur around what must have been an old garage shop. Was super cute and cool. This would be the place to take a classic car or ride up with a motorcycle gang. You order from the line, get a trophy with a number, and then sit down for them to bring out your food. There was no vegetarian options for me but they suggested the Pontiac with grilled zucchini. Kids and parents ordered Cadillacs and Studebakers. Kids and parents LOVED their burgers! Like really loved. Gushing that it might have been the best burger they had. My vegetarian Pontiac was ok but not really filling. Spoke with the waitress that they should offer an impossible or beyond burger named "The Prius" for us that don't eat meat. :) The reason I'm not giving it the full 5 out of 5 stars is that the fries were kind of just warm and a little soggy. This place is a home run! Ordered some beers for pick up at 903 Brewers and decided to try something different for lunch than their restaurant on site. MG's was all that and more. First, the place has a really cool vibe and the staff is on point. We had no chance to go without because everyone was ready to please and did. We had the nuts and bolts, which was their fried pickles and zucchini. The batter was so tasty and crisp! The zucchini was molten hot when coming out so be careful but well worth letting cool down. The pickles might be the best I've had. The burgers where fresh and not pre-made. The bun was from the bakery next door. Bacon was crispy and veggies were crisp. Finally, the tater tots were so good as well. They even make their own ketchup!! Winner lunch so don't miss this place!! read more

Seriously THE BEST BURGERS in town... and to be honest.... the entire DFW metroplex. We used to just drive up for lunch but now we've moved to Sherman... danger danger!!! :) The staff is always so friendly and every burger on the menu, delic!!! Big rave for the shakes and onion rings too. The atmosphere is so cool. If you love old cars, you'll admire the decor. Their burgers are amazing! They make their own perfect homemade buns. They cook their beef perfectly and season it just right. I'm not wild about their fries. Mostly soggy and slightly undercooked (smushy) - they should do the frying twice method on them but their tater tots are perfect and always crispy. We love Saturdays cause they have the all you can eat burgers for a great price. I usually can only eat two but my hubby ate five the last time we bought them. Their toppings are great. Their ambiance is comfortable and very laid back. The service was great. I especially appreciated the waitress who wrote down all of our continuing orders because we had the all you can eat burger and sides. I wanted to like this place. The decor was cool, an old service station redone with old car stuff. The staff was great and very attentive and the food came out fast. But it was all lacking flavor. We got fried pickles and while the batter was light and crispy, it simply had no flavor. A little seasoning would have made them great. We also had a couple of burgers and they also lacked flavor. The patty didn't have much of a taste and again, no seasoning. Also the bun was soft but could have done with some toasting because it got very soggy. It was busy on a Friday afternoon so obviously the area likes it but something as simple as adding some salt would have made this a five star meal.
