Anytime I get Mexican food these days, I can't help but compare it to Mi Burrito. The mixed burrito (shrimp, steak, veggies, sub-black beans) is my favorite in Portland. All of the meats I've tried here are delicious, and they have a great salsa bar as well. Always very fresh ingredients, friendly service, and super reasonable prices. The BEST fish taco I have found in Portland! They actually put a very large filet of fish on fresh corn tortillas, cooked to perfection. Unlike many of the taco shops I tried over the past 3 years. While on vacation I was yelping places like crazy, I only go on vacation to eat I wanted to try Mexican and out of all the places I found this one was the lucky winner, well I was the lucky one. I did visit during COVID , they did offer inside seating and also took phone orders for pickup. I ordered the green chili burrito enchilada style and OMG!!! It was one of the best green chili burrito I have ever had. A lot of Mexican restaurants/stands don't serve green chili. They put another green salsa on my plate and that one was fire I think I can stand hot things quite well so when I say this one was hot, trust me, but it was oh soo good. My husband got the tacos and he said they were really good also, he wasn't as excited as I was about my burrito lol. Woah! Could this be it? Can it be the real thing? Because I think I finally found my go to spot for mexican food here in Oregon. My first place of judgement whether a taco shop is legit is the salsa bar. If they have fried jalapeños and tons of different sauces then that's a great way to start. But then the menu...if they have good daily specials or specialized things then I'm going all in to check out their food. I usually order their version of a Cali burrito and then move on from there, so when I got my super duper thick Oregon burrito I was already impressed. But at first bite, the carne asada was something special and the flavor was incredible. Chimichangas = half my fast food budget and 1" of my waist line. Dessert counter = working on another 1" of waist line. Best salsas in the business. I'll admit at first, I wasn't so sure of this place based on it's exterior (cheesy sign comes to mind.) However, I decided to take Yelp's word and give Mi Burrito a try, and did not regret it. Actually, this might be my new favorite Mexican restaurant in North Portland. I ordered two Mi Tacos and two orders of taquitos, and my partner got the shrimp burrito. My food was great all around; the texture of the taquitos was perfect, with a nice crunch on the outside and moist inside. It was topped with guacamole sauce, which is my preferred sauce for said dish. The tacos were both great too; it was a shredded beef taco with a red sauce, and the serving size was generous for the price. My partner's burrito was a mess, however, which is why I'm docking a point. It looked like they threw a bunch of liquid into a tortilla, and didn't have anything to absorb the extra liquid (rice, perhaps.) She thought it tasted fine, but it was a huge mess to eat and was more like eating soup loaded into a tortilla. She'll probably order something different next time, or add rice to it. The restaurant was clean, the restrooms were clean and the service was very friendly. A great lunch, and I'll be glad to return. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a while. I was craving Mexican so we decided to give it a go. I ordered the carne asada big nachos, my husband got the Chile relleno burrito. I was a little disappointed with the nachos. It was just a bunch of chips with beans, cheese, sour cream and carne asada. Usually the nachos I get somewhere else have some kind of veggies, even just jalapenos but these looked bland. It did need a little bit of season of some sort, at least salt. The carne asada was good though, it was juicy and easy to chew. I got to add a few things like salsa and radishes to make it look better but I was still missing something. My husband tried them and he loved them, but I think he was just hungry because I wasn't even done preparing my nachos when he had finished his burrito. Soni decided to order 2 tacos and give the rest of the nachos to my husband. I got a lengua taco and a carnitas one. The tacos are so good! I loved the tacos. The meat is well season, soft, juicy, and the tortilla is hot. The tacos made up for the nachos. We also got 2 churros with cream, they were warm and sweet. And a flan and trees leches cake to go. When we got home and tried the flan and cake, it was not as good. They probably put cream cheese in the flan and my husband doesn't like it, the cake had no leche, ir was dry, like a normal cake. It was still good but it wasn't trees leches. I would still go back for the tacos and churros. They price is right and some of the food is awesome! read more

The staff was really nice and everything was clean. The food was ok but there wasn't a lot of flavor. A friend got a veggie burrito that was mostly beans. Somehow the guacamole on the asada fries didn't seem to taste like anything, even avocado. However, the fries were well done and there was a lot of toppings.
