Where do I start. The food is absolutely amazing. Everything tastes fresh and you can tell by the attention to detail that they take pride in making their entrees. They go above and beyond to recognize my food allergy to red onions. Guacamole is made fresh. They even made it for me with white onions due to my allergy. This is bougie authentic Mexican not TexMex!!! The service is above and beyond. The wait staff are super friendly, very attentive. They treat every customer like a VIP. The ambiance is just beautiful. The decor is just lovely this restaurant is spotless! I was never a real fan of Mexican food until we tried this restaurant. The service at Tequila Cocina Comida Mexicana was good, but I order the ceviche and have ordered that at a lot of different restaurant's. The ceviche came out as a tomato soup almost with seafood in it. Usually I eat ceviche on a chip of some sort, but they brought a spoon with this one. It was just weird and didn't taste that great. We went at an off time, however, that shouldn't matter. Our server lacked greatly in personality. He seemed to be over it. We ordered the queso blanco fundido. It was flavorless. They gave us 3 tortillas for that whole thing and never asked if we wanted more and we couldn't find him to ask. My boyfriend got the chicken enchiladas. They were tasteless. I ordered the shrimp and crab stuffed enchilada which was also tasteless. Our server didn't care. Never gave us more water. For the price you expect a little flavor. It was very bleak inside. This was not where we planned to dine, but when it's the 4th, you take what is open. I saw the low ratings and negative reviews so I did not have high expectations. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a inviting bar area. Chips and salsa were good, but when the server offered hotter salsa we accepted. The green salsa is delicious but eventually starts a nice burn. The orange salsa punches you right in the face and is not for the faint of heart, but is also tasty. My table had street tacos, chicken taco salad, and queso Blanco chicken enchiladas. All the dishes were good. This is not standard Tex-Mex but more traditional Mexico style. My chicken enchiladas were wonderful and spicy. Only negative is the few shreds of cheddar cheese are unnecessary. Beans and rice on point. Refreshing house margarita is worth the $10. This restaurant deserves better reviews than have been posted on Yelp. Maybe competitors made those posts? We almost didn't try it due to the 2.5 star rating we saw the week of July 7, 2025, but two 5-star reviews in the past week convinced us to give it a go. The decor is fantastic, much nicer than the previous restaurant that occupied this space (which we also enjoyed). Thoughtful attention to decorative details, not annoying at all. We were seated quickly, and our server Mitchell took great care of us, answering our questions, guiding us on choices based on our input, and quickly delivering our drinks. From other reviews we knew to ask for the "hotter" salsas, which were brought complimentarily. Both were fantastic in their own ways, and inspired us to ask Mitchell to "go ahead and bring us the guacamole" we'd previously declined. That and a margarita helped control the heat nicely, making for an enjoyable experience. We tried the Chile Colorado with white corn tortillas, and the fried shrimp tacos. Both meals were outstanding. Before our check was delivered, a manager stopped by to visit and ensure our visit was expected. Nice touch! We'll be back!! read more

My wife's Chile Relleno de Mariscos was delicious, and interestingly used a charred pepper rather than battered. The table salsa was too mild for my taste, lacking heat, but when I requested something spicier, Abigail , our waitress, brought two vibrant options: a fiery green salsa with a tangy bite and an orange one with smoky, intense heat. Both were outstanding! I'm puzzled by the negative reviews, some of which feel like they could be from competitors rather than genuine diners. Our experience was stellar, i like it better than other local spots like Mi Casa and Jalapeño Lemon Pepper. My family was so excited to try a new restaurant but it was sadly disappointing. With so many great Mexican restaurants in town, you have to be exceptional to get customers back. We won't be back. The place is beautiful, the service was nice but the food was below average. I also had to pay an extra $3 for a tiny blob of sour cream for my fajitas and $2 for an even smaller amount of cheese. So $29 for below average fajitas doesn't work for me (I won't mention the gross, thick, instant powder queso...oops). Not when Mi Casa is right next door! read more

The service was excellent, the decor was beautiful, the presentation of the food looked very appetizing, I started off with a small appetizer, which was bland at that point I was hoping the entrees would be better so I tried the fajita trio of beef,chicken, and shrimp the shrimp were small salad shrimp, the beef was bland and tough, the chicken was flavorless for $28.00 I had high expectations, secondly I tried the chicken enchiladas and the same applied bland and flavorless. Third I tried the Flan for desert I am pretty sure the Flan came from a vendor because it was delicious. I do not recommend if you want a flavorful meal with decent prices by pass this place. We were really looking forward to trying the new restaurant that replaced one of our favorite places, Campuzano's. We walked inside to a lovely, freshly decorated space. Great look. I wish I could say the food was as great as the new look. We were very disappointed. The Mahi Mahi tacos were flavorless. The salsa was...not salsa. The queso sauce over the enchiladas was gritty - obviously made from powdered cheese. Big NO. When asked if we could have two separate kinds of enchiladas on the enchilada plate we were told they couldn't. Both enchiladas had to be the same. What?! Three people with a tab of $100+, tip included was way too much for the food. I hope they take these reviews and make some much needed improvements to their menu items. Wasn't the best. First time here since rebranding. Pretty place. Tables had uncomfortable chairs for a fluffy girl like me, but the booth was nice. Service- they young man was nice and he was trying. My cheese enchiladas came out as chicken. Sent back and came back quickly. They were hot thankfully but the sauce lacked flavor. Maybe I caught them on a bad night. Everything needed more spice and more flavor-- this is coming from someone who just doesn't do spice much at all. Nice place, nice people- maybe a revamp of some recipes and a few more peppers to everything might help. I would love to see this place do well. read more

Been wanting to try this place and was hoping it would be our new go to for fajitas. Sorry to say it won't be. The restaurant is beautiful and the servers are dressed very professionally. The food needs A LOT of work - especially considering the prices. The fajita ingredients were sliced very thin, and the bottom layer was burned to the skillet. The biggest surprise was the portion of sides. A dab - maybe a teaspoon size of guac and pico not much more. No cheese no sour cream. Very small portions of beans. The tortillas were tough and only three included. No beans or sides with some of the other dishes ordered at our table. The Chile Verde was disgusting. It wasn't pork chunks it was pork mush and covered in the darkest tomatillo sauce I have ever seen. It was literally dark brown. Went for the first and last time. We waited over 20 mins for drink refills and finally had to go ask someone else. Had to ask twice for the queso. 2 of the 3 meals came out wrong. Never got items we asked for. Out of drinks again for the rest of the meal. Talked to the manager and all he said was sorry. It was over 70.00 for 3 meals, queso and waters. We went on Tuesday evening and had a great experience. They had $2 street tacos and $7 margaritas, we tried all 3 kinds. I personally enjoyed the chicken more but all 3 were good. The chips and salsa were very fresh. The salsa was tasty and the waitress brought us some hot sauces to try. The green was flavorful but the red was just hot, which she warned us. They were very good on the tacos and then the margarita was excellent. So we had to have another one. The staff was very friendly, the place was nice and clean. Your Yelp review should never begin with the phrase, "do you think they meant to cook it like that?", but my burned to a crisp flautas leave me no other option. I always like to start with the positive, so here goes. The music was really great! The fresh new decor was pretty spiffy. The hot sauce was ok, though given out very sparingly. That's about it. The Taco Salad was adequate, as long as you didn't notice the brown guacamole. But seriously, the flautas were so dark and dry that I wondered if they were actually made of chicken or mahogany. We were definitely hesitant to try due to the reviews, but glad we did! My husband and I shared the trio fajitas, which was more than enough food for two. The fajitas were tasty! The ambiance is cool - not too noisy. We also had the queso, which was fine but not worth $12.50. The food did seem pricier than it should be (lack of sides, but they do tell you on the menu if the dishes come with sides). Our server was lovely and attentive. I would have agree with previous reviewers on all points. The restaurant is so beautiful and I would love to see it thrive but the food has some issues. The shrimp cocktail was actually outstanding so we're were excited about the rest. My street tacos were hard to eat, very dry and were just chicken on tortillas, nothing else.
