Found this little gem for lunch today. I had the Steak Tampiquena which was amazing, my friend had a Chile Relleno stuffed with more chicken than you can imagine! The side on my steak was a cheese enchilada with ranchero sauce and it was so good I could've eaten a plate full of those. Service was fantastic and the servers were very friendly! Good food despite the hole in the wall location. The steak fajitas were very good and the make your own burrito was awesome. Chips and salsa were okay but the "hot" salsa was much better (not very hot, but tasty). The best part was that they do not have a liquor license, yet, SO THEY WERE GIVING AWAY MARGARITAS!!! When I walked in the aroma was breath taking and I couldn't wait to order. The owner and staff are so friendly. I didn't feel like a stranger, it felt like greeting old friends. Really good Tex-Mex food. Fresh, hot and made to order. The hot sauce is not really hot, but it made fresh and has a really good taste. This is a cute little family owned restaurant. Rosendo and Alma Cruz are from deep south Texas and they know how to do Mexican food right. He is in the back and she is in the front charming guests. The proof of real scratch made food is in the guacamole. It is really made from fresh avocados not green mush from a bag. The salsa is fresh too and comes in a spicy variety, ask for it! The menu is standard Tex-Mex and reasonably priced. Lunch is only $6.50. We have been in North Texas for almost 5 years and finally found genuine, scratch made Mexican food. read more

I wont be back here. The food was typical, prices seemed high to me, hot sauce was very spicy. The reason I wont be back was due to the manager/owner. She was really rude to our waitress. So rude that it was uncomfortable for us to watch. We felt rushed after we received our check, normally I believe you pay at the counter but our waitress offered to take it up there for us. The manager walked it back and hovered over us while it was filled out and signed. She just did not seem to care that she made people feel awkward. I also heard her complaining about other staff and bossing people. read more

We were just driving through on a road trip and wanted Mexican food. Although it is a little over a mile from i35, it is definitely worth getting off the highway! Read the reviews and decided to give them a try. As mentioned in other reviews, the outside of the restaurant is deceiving. A bit on the cafeteria side decor wise but once the food arrived all was forgiven. I can honestly say that this was one of, if not the best Mexican restaurant I have eaten at bar none! The food was fresh and very flavorful; perfectly seasoned. All in all, when I left that evening I was overwhelmingly satisfied. The waitress was genuinely friendly and even shared an interesting fact on AC/DC when she noticed them on my T-shirt. Service was fast and efficient. My only regret is that I am not able to frequent this establishment on a regular basis as I am not a native of Texas. read more

We were heading to the Winstar for a concert and got on Yelp to find a Mexican place close by. Our waitress was darling, friendly and efficient. The food was really tasty and came out hot and fresh. White queso was really good, we loved the house chips and salsa. Our party ordered the #1, #2 and #3 dinner combinations and everyone was in agreement that their food was delicious. Could not eat everything on our plates, so much food and too many chips and queso/salsa. Nice little hole in the wall. We will visit again when back in the area. read more

I found this place while traveling and the reviews were the best around factoring in the 5 star that only had 1 review, so we opted for Mi Casa due to 17 reviews and 4 stars average. We were skeptical mostly because it looks like a hole in the wall but were quickly made believers. I always say salsa can make or break a Mexican restaurant. This place has delicious salsa, and that's just the beginning. The server greeted us when we entered, attended to our drink needs quickly and had a great personality. We had mango and peach margaritas which were quite good-no skimpy alcohol here. We got two fajita taco salads which were were SO good. We both got chicken on our salads which was hot, cooked perfectly and plenty for the salad. Requests for seconds on the salsa were met by smiles and we had 2 refills-no problem. It's a good size place that looks small from outside. It's in a strip mall but don't let that deter you. Try them, you won't regret it. read more

Good Mexican food at a reasonable price. The staff is very friendly which is important to me and my family. The owner consistently greets us and our waitress often remembers our favorite dishes and drink orders. I've seen some rude reviews on here that base their views of the restaurant on the race of the wait staff which is not only exceptionally ignorant but it has nothing to do with how the food tastes. This may not be authentic Mexican food but it's delicious Tex-Mex. This place is really the only good option that Gainesville, Texas has to offer. read more

A lot of food for the lunch special price. Also added the chile relleno with chili con carne, kinda heavy on the sauce but breaded well and tasted good aside from so much sauce.
